The Arrival

It’s time to fire up the left behind letters again.  My recent post on the events in the Middle East and their fulfillment in Ezekiel 38–39 was a first step and a primer for those who will visit after I’m gone.

Unfortunately for this world those who are coming are not cute little friendly ecologists with solutions for our ills.  They’re more akin to the creatures in A Quiet Place, but with all of the suave and finesse of Cary Grant.

This is a world so primed for the great deception.

2 Thessalonians 2:11-17 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness. 13But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the LORD, because God chose you as first fruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. 14He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our LORD Jesus Christ. 15So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter. 16May our LORD Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, 17encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.

We are about to have a scene change.  The church is leaving to go up and satan and his cohorts are being cast down.  Last September saw the fulfillment of verses 1 and 2.  Verse 5 appears to be in focus.  Israel is about to take the brunt of the wrath and verse 6 will be top of mind.  Verses 7–9 and 13–ff are pertinent to this post.

Revelation 12

The Woman and the Dragon

1A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth. Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on its heads. Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born. She gave birth to a son, a male child, who “will rule all the nations with an iron scepter.”[a] And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne. The woman fled into the wilderness to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days.
Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.
10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:
“Now have come the salvation and the power
and the kingdom of our God,
and the authority of his Messiah.
For the accuser of our brothers and sisters,
who accuses them before our God day and night,
    has been hurled down.
11 They triumphed over him
by the blood of the Lamb
    and by the word of their testimony;
they did not love their lives so much
    as to shrink from death.
12 Therefore rejoice, you heavens
and you who dwell in them!
But woe to the earth and the sea,
because the devil has gone down to you!
He is filled with fury,
because he knows that his time is short.”
13 When the dragon saw that he had been hurled to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child. 14 The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle, so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the wilderness, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time, out of the serpent’s reach. 15 Then from his mouth the serpent spewed water like a river, to overtake the woman and sweep her away with the torrent. 16 But the earth helped the woman by opening its mouth and swallowing the river that the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. 17 Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring—those who keep God’s commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus.

These things have been written, so when they happen, we will know that they are from God.  Only He could know thousands of years in advance what would happen.  He is the only one to trust and trust in Him is urgently required. (Click to Source)

PROPHECY WATCH: Mark of the Beast forerunner happening in India

‘Big Brother’ in India Requires Fingerprint Scans for Food, Phones and Finances

photo-1513112687946-67bc1c823f3a-1280x640

NEW DELHI — Seeking to build an identification system of unprecedented scope, India is scanning the fingerprints, eyes and faces of its 1.3 billion residents and connecting the data to everything from welfare benefits to mobile phones.

Civil libertarians are horrified, viewing the program, called Aadhaar, as Orwell’s Big Brother brought to life. To the government, it’s more like “big brother,” a term of endearment used by many Indians to address a stranger when asking for help.

For other countries, the technology could provide a model for how to track their residents. And for India’s top court, the ID system presents unique legal issues that will define what the constitutional right to privacy means in the digital age.

A woman watches as a man has his irises scanned, one of several ways the system uses identifying characteristics to track people.CreditThe New York Times

To Adita Jha, Aadhaar was simply a hassle. The 30-year-old environmental consultant in Delhi waited in line three times to sit in front of a computer that photographed her face, captured her fingerprints and snapped images of her irises. Three times, the data failed to upload. The fourth attempt finally worked, and she has now been added to the 1.1 billion Indians already included in the program.

Ms. Jha had little choice but to keep at it. The government has made registration mandatory for hundreds of public services and many private ones, from taking school exams to opening bank accounts.

“You almost feel like life is going to stop without an Aadhaar,” Ms. Jha said.

Technology has given governments around the world new tools to monitor their citizens. In China, the government is rolling out ways to use facial recognition and big data to track people, aiming to inject itself further into everyday life. Many countries, including Britain, deploy closed-circuit cameras to monitor their populations.

But India’s program is in a league of its own, both in the mass collection of biometric data and in the attempt to link it to everything — traffic tickets, bank accounts, pensions, even meals for undernourished schoolchildren.

Fingerprints are another.CreditThe New York Times

“No one has approached that scale and that ambition,” said Jacqueline Bhabha, a professor and research director of Harvard’s FXB Center for Health and Human Rights, who has studied biometric ID systems around the world. “It has been hailed, and justifiably so, as an extraordinary triumph to get everyone registered.”

Critics fear that the government will gain unprecedented insight into the lives of all Indians.

In response, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other champions of the program say that Aadhaar is India’s ticket to the future, a universal, easy-to-use ID that will reduce this country’s endemic corruption and help bring even the most illiterate into the digital age.

“It’s the equivalent of building interstate highways,” said Nandan Nilekani, the technology billionaire who was tapped by the government in 2009 to build the Aadhaar system. “If the government invested in building a digital public utility and that is made available as a platform, then you actually can create major innovations around that.”

The potential uses — from surveillance to managing government benefit programs — have drawn interest elsewhere. Sri Lanka is planning a similar system, and Britain, Russia and the Philippines are studying it, according to the Indian government.

Aadhaar, which means “foundation” in English, was initially intended as a difficult-to-forge ID to reduce fraud and improve the delivery of government welfare programs.

But Mr. Modi, who has promoted a “digital India” vision since his party took power in 2014, has vastly expanded its ambitions.

The poor must scan their fingerprints at the ration shop to get their government allocations of rice. Retirees must do the same to get their pensions. Middle-school students cannot enter the water department’s annual painting contest until they submit their identification.

In some cities, newborns cannot leave the hospital until their parents sign them up. Even leprosy patients, whose illness damages their fingers and eyes, have been told they must pass fingerprint or iris scans to get their benefits.

The Modi government has also ordered Indians to link their IDs to their cellphone and bank accounts. States have added their own twists, like using the data to map where people live. Some employers use the ID for background checks on job applicants.

“Aadhaar has added great strength to India’s development,” Mr. Modi said in a January speech to military cadets. Officials estimate that taxpayers have saved at least $9.4 billion from Aadhaar by weeding out “ghosts” and other improper beneficiaries of government services.

Opponents have filed at least 30 cases against the program in India’s Supreme Court. They argue that Aadhaar violates India’s Constitution — and, in particular, a unanimous court decision last year that declared for the first time that Indians had a fundamental right to privacy.

Rahul Narayan, one of the lawyers challenging the system, said the government was essentially building one giant database on its citizens. “There has been a sort of mission creep to it all along,” he said.

People filling out forms to register for the Aadhaar system in New Delhi. One advantage cited for using biometric data is that it can identify people who are illiterate or have no proper identification.CreditThe New York Times

The court has been holding extensive hearings and is expected to make a ruling in the spring.

The government argues that the universal ID is vital in a country where hundreds of millions of people do not have widely accepted identification documents.

“The people themselves are the biggest beneficiaries,” said Ajay B. Pandey, the Minnesota-trained engineer who leads the Unique Identification Authority of India, the government agency that oversees the system. “This identity cannot be refused.”

Businesses are also using the technology to streamline transactions.

Banks once sent employees to the homes of account applicants to verify their addresses. Now, accounts can be opened online and finished with a fingerprint scan at a branch or other authorized outlet. Reliance Jio, a telecom provider, relies on an Aadhaar fingerprint scan to conduct the government-mandated ID check for purchases of cellphone SIM cards. That allows clerks to activate service immediately instead of forcing buyers to wait a day or two.

But the Aadhar system has also raised practical and legal issues.

Although the system’s core fingerprint, iris and face database appears to have remained secure, at least 210 government websites have leaked other personal data — such as name, birth date, address, parents’ names, bank account number and Aadhaar number — for millions of Indians. Some of that data is still available with a simple Google search.

Waiting to register for the system in New Delhi. Aadhaar was initially intended to reduce fraud and improve the delivery of welfare benefits. Officials have since broadly expanded its range.CreditThe New York Times

As Aadhaar has become mandatory for government benefits, parts of rural India have struggled with the internet connections necessary to make Aadhaar work. After a lifetime of manual labor, many Indians also have no readable prints, making authentication difficult. One recent studyfound that 20 percent of the households in Jharkand state had failed to get their food rations under Aadhaar-based verification — five times the failure rate of ration cards.

“This is the population that is being passed off as ghosts and bogus by the government,” said Reetika Khera, an associate professor of economics at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, who co-wrote the study.

Seeing these problems, some local governments have scaled back the use of Aadhaar for public benefits. In February, the government for the Delhi region announced that it would stop using Aadhaar to deliver food benefits.

Dr. Pandey said that some problems were inevitable but that his agency was trying to fix them. The government is patching security holes and recently added face recognition as an alternative to fingerprint or iris scans to make it easier to verify identities.

Fears that the Indian government could use Aadhaar to turn the country into a surveillance state, he said, are overblown. “There is no central authority that has all the information,” he said.

Before Aadhaar, he said, hundreds of millions of Indians could not easily prove who they were.

“If you are not able to prove your identity, you are disenfranchised,” he said. “You have no existence.”  (Click to Source)

Correction:

A picture caption with an earlier version of this article misidentified which of the people shown was undergoing a security check. It was the man in the foreground, not the woman. The caption also misstated what was being scanned. It was the man’s irises, not his retinas.

Why the Russia-Turkey-Iran Alliance Could Be More Disturbing Than You Think

Laura Lacey Johnson | Contributor to ChristianHeadlines.com | Thursday, April 5, 2018

50851-russia-iran-turkey-wiki-facebook-800w-tn

At a time when Russia faces widespread diplomatic fallout from the poisoned spy scandal and Turkey frustrates Western allies amid human rights concerns, these two rival nations are teaming up with Iran, a country that may soon restart its nuclear weapons program.

On Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan put aside previous tensions and attended a ground-breaking ceremony for a Russian-made nuclear power plant under construction on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast.

On Wednesday, the two met with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to discuss Syria’s future at a summit in the Turkish capital of Ankara.  According to reports, Russia, Turkey, and Iran are working together to create “de-escalation zones” to end the seven-year civil war in Syria.

While this news is significant to the international community, it may also be important from a Biblical perspective.

Why?

Some scholars say the alliance of Russia, Turkey, and Iran sounds strikingly similar to a coalition foretold by the Old Testament prophet Ezekiel.

The background

The prophet Ezekiel ministered to the Jews who were exiled from the Promised Land after Babylon invaded Judah. Toward the latter part of his book, Ezekiel predicts future events that many modern Bible scholars say have not come to pass yet.

Relevant to our conversation today is a prediction in Ezekiel 38-39 about a war in which a coalition of nations “devise an evil plan” against Israel (see Ezekiel 38:10).

What happens?

God defeats the enemies of Israel.  In fact, God’s word says the defeat will be so extensive that it will take seven months for the people of Israel to find and bury the remains of their enemies (Ezekiel 39:12).

According to commentator Chuck Swindoll, God will accomplish two sovereign purposes:

  • Israel will be secure and unafraid in its land.
  • God will display His holiness among the nations.

God says in Ezekiel 38:23:“In this way, I will show my greatness and holiness, and I will make myself known to all the nations of the world. Then they will know that I am the Lord.”

Who is involved?

The Ezekiel 38-39 prophecy contains some obscure names as villains: Gog from the land of Magog, Persia, Ethiopia, Libya, Gomer, and Beth-togarmah.

If you’re like me, you want to know who these people or nations are. Therefore, let me recommend this article by author Joel C. Rosenberg as well as the research of author Mark Hitchcock in his book, “101 Answers to the Most Asked Questions About the End Times.”

According to Hitchcock and Rosenberg, here are the modern identities of the ancient people and cities referenced in Ezekiel 38-39:

Ancient Name: Modern Name:
Gog Russian leader
Magog Russia
Persia Iran
Ethiopia Sudan
Libya Libya and Algeria
Gomer and Beth-togarmah Turkey

Look back at the bolded names on the list.  Russia, Iran, and Turkey are now collaborating. Meanwhile, Libya and Algeria are already closely aligned with Russia and hostile to Israel, and Sudan is a radical Islamic Sunni state allied with Iran and Russia that is anti-Israel.

While there is no immediate or specific threat to Israel, the alliance of these nations is noteworthy.

Conclusion:

Is the alliance of Russia, Turkey, and Iran a precursor to the events prophesied in Ezekiel 38-39? Time will reveal the answer.

Meantime, what we do know is that God gives us prophecy to help us understand He has a sovereign plan for the future – a perspective that helps build our confidence in Him today. (Click to Source)

WIKILEAKS: Obama, Clinton & Soros Overthrew Pope Benedict

o-s-h

Strap in folks, this is a wild one!

If you’ve been friends with us for a while, you know we are no fans of Pope Francis.  In fact, the entire Vatican has stunk for a long, long time.

But now it appears there may have been a coup from the outside, involving three people we like on just about the same level as Pope Francis:  Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and George Soros.

Yes, that’s right.  In a new report from Wikileaks, it’s now alleged that these three oversaw a coup to remove Pope Benedict.  How very interesting.  And who did they replace him with?  Yeah, I rest my case.

Pope Benedict XVI reigned as Pope of the Catholic Church from 2005 to 2013 before unexpectedly resigning in unusual circumstances. Becoming the first Pope to step down since Pope Gregory XII in 1415, Benedict is widely considered the first to do so on his own initiative since Pope Celestine V in 1294.

However the group of Catholic leaders cite new evidence uncovered in emails released by WikiLeaks to claim the conservative Pope Benedict did not actually resign on his own initiative, but was pushed out of the Vatican by a coup that the group of researchers are calling the “Catholic Spring.”

Soros, Obama and Clinton used the United States’ diplomatic machinery, political muscle, and financial power to coerce, bribe and blackmail “regime change” in the Roman Catholic Church in order to replace the conservative Benedict with the current Pope Francis – who has since become an unlikely mouthpiece for the international left, stunning Catholics around the world.

Now the group of Catholic leaders have sent a letter to President Trump urging him to launch an official investigation into the activities of George Soros, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton (and others) who they allege were involved in orchestrating Catholic Spring that resulted in their goal of “regime change” in the Vatican.

The Catholic leaders cite eight specific questions they seek to have answered concerning suspect events that led to the resignation of Pope Benedict, the first papal abdication in 700 years.

“Specifically, we have reason to believe that a Vatican ‘regime change’ was engineered by the Obama administration,” say the petitioners, in their January 20 letter to President Trump.

“We were alarmed to discover,” their letter notes, “that, during the third year of the first term of the Obama administration your previous opponent, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and other government officials with whom she associated proposed a Catholic ‘revolution’ in which the final demise of what was left of the Catholic Church in America would be realized.”

The letter includes links to documents and news stories underscoring their claims. It first directs attention to the notorious Soros-Clinton-Podesta e-mails disclosed last year by WikiLeaks, in which Podesta and other progressives discussed regime change to remove what they described as the “middle ages dictatorship” in the Catholic Church.

Regarding the Podesta e-mails in question, The New American reported last October:

“Podesta, a longtime Clinton adviser/confidante and hand-picked top activist for left-wing funder George Soros, revealed in a 2011 e-mail that he and other activists were working to effect a “Catholic Spring” revolution within the Catholic Church, an obvious reference to the disastrous “Arab Spring” coups organized that same year by the Obama-Clinton-Soros team that destabilized the Middle East and brought radical Islamist regimes and terrorist groups to power in the region. The Podesta e-mail is a response to another Soros-funded radical — Sandy Newman, founder of the “progressive” Voices for Progress. Newman had written to Podesta seeking advice on the best way to “plant the seeds of the revolution” in the Catholic Church, which he described as a “middle ages [sic] dictatorship.”

In their letter to President Trump, the group of Catholics leaders write: “Approximately a year after this e-mail discussion, which was never intended to be made public, we find that Pope Benedict XVI abdicated under highly unusual circumstances and was replaced by a pope whose apparent mission is to provide a spiritual component to the radical ideological agenda of the international left. The Pontificate of Pope Francis has subsequently called into question its own legitimacy on a multitude of occasions.”

“We remain puzzled by the behavior of this ideologically charged Pope, whose mission seems to be one of advancing secular agendas of the left rather than guiding the Catholic Church in Her sacred mission,” they say, expressing the thoughts of millions of Catholics around the world stunned by Pope Francis’s left-wing ideology. “It is simply not the proper role of a Pope to be involved in politics to the point that he is considered to be the leader of the international left.”

Your Daily Readings – Verse of the Day – Matthew 28:18 – April 10, 2018

Matthew 28:1-20

truth-bible

Now after the Sabbath, near dawn of the first day of the week, Mary of Magdala and the other Mary went to take a look at the tomb.

And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled the boulder back and sat upon it.

His appearance was like lightning, and his garments as white as snow.

And those keeping guard were so frightened at the sight of him that they were agitated and they trembled and became like dead men.

But the angel said to the women, Do not be alarmed and frightened, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, Who was crucified.

He is not here; He has risen, as He said [He would do]. Come, see the place where He lay.

Then go quickly and tell His disciples, He has risen from the dead, and behold, He is going before you to Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.

So they left the tomb hastily with fear and great joy and ran to tell the disciples.

And as they went, behold, Jesus met them and said, Hail (greetings)! And they went up to Him and clasped His feet and worshiped Him.

10 Then Jesus said to them, Do not be alarmed and afraid; go and tell My brethren to go into Galilee, and there they will see Me.

11 While they were on their way, behold, some of the guards went into the city and reported to the chief priests everything that had occurred.

12 And when they [the chief priests] had gathered with the elders and had consulted together, they gave a sufficient sum of money to the soldiers,

13 And said, Tell people, His disciples came at night and stole Him away while we were sleeping.

14 And if the governor hears of it, we will appease him and make you safe and free from trouble and care.

15 So they took the money and did as they were instructed; and this story has been current among the Jews to the present day.

16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed and made appointment with them.

17 And when they saw Him, they fell down and worshiped Him; but some doubted.

18 Jesus approached and, [a]breaking the silence, said to them, All authority (all power of rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.

19 Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them [b]into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

20 Teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you [c]all the days ([d]perpetually, uniformly, and on every occasion), to the [very] close and consummation of the age. [e]Amen (so let it be).

China’s online retailers pull Bible from shelves as Beijing gets strict on sale of holy text

Searches for the religious book on JD.com, Taobao and Amazon.cn fail to produce results

PUBLISHED : Thursday, 05 April, 2018, 8:46am
UPDATED : Thursday, 05 April, 2018, 11:52pm
chinese-bible-640x480
China’s online retail giants have removed the Bible from sale in an apparent move by Beijing to restrict its distribution.

On JD.com, searches for “the Bible” in Chinese yielded no results, while on Taobao, Amazon.cn and Dang Dang, they led to other Christian publications, such as storybooks and Bible study aids.

Taobao is owned by Alibaba, which also owns the South China Morning Post. Neither Taobao nor JD.com responded to requests for comment.

“This probably started on March 30,” a source at a Chinese publishing house source told Inkstone, a new China news portal under the Post. “Some shops on Taobao [selling Christian books] have been closed permanently.”

The apparent crackdown on online sales of the Bible comes as Beijing and the Vatican continue to seek a deal on the appointment of bishops, which if reached could lead to the normalisation of ties between the two that were severed in 1951.

While the Bible has long been categorised in China as a publication “for internal distribution” – meaning that, officially at least, it can be sold only by government-sanctioned bodies that oversee Christian churches – the authorities have tended to look the other way.

“[The ban] was not enforced strictly before,” said Ying Fuk-tsang, director of the Divinity School of Chung Chi College at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

The publishing house source said that Christian bookstores were subjected to regular inspections by the Ministry of Culture, and that during one such visit by officials on Tuesday, an outlet in Beijing was told it could no longer sell “foreign” books.

In China, all religious activities come under the close scrutiny of the officially atheist Communist Party. Beijing has often repeated its position that it will not allow “foreign forces” to dominate the country’s religious activities.

Under President Xi Jinping, the authorities have further tightened their grip on Christianity, including cracking down on underground churches.

China’s e-commerce behemoths were not the only ones to be hit with the restrictions on online sales of the Bible.

A Christian bookstore on WeChat, China’s most popular messaging platform, based in southern Guangdong province said it was inundated with “notice of punishment” warnings from the social media app on Tuesday, and that most of its content – including the Bible, and Christian books and gifts – had been deleted overnight.

Dong Jianlin, a bishop of a house church in Xian, capital of northwestern China’s Shaanxi province, said believers were shocked by the news.

“But I think the shock will die down gradually, because you just can’t ban the Bible,” he said. “People will always find ways to buy it, such as at state-sanctioned churches.”

The Bible was never meant to be sold in China, Dong said, so the tighter controls would just regulate sales and distribution.

Ying, however, said he believed the move was part of a wider strategy to prevent the spread of Christianity online.

According to official figures published on Tuesday, China is home to about 38 million Protestants and 6 million Catholics.

Many more people, however, worship in underground churches outside the state-sanctioned system. By some academic estimates, Christians in China now outnumber the 90 million members of the Communist Party.

Ex General to Putin warns Russia and UK heading for last war in the history of mankind

Russia and UK heading for last war in the HISTORY OF MANKIND, warns ex-Putin general

A FORMER Russian general has warned that the UK and Moscow are heading for “the last war in the history of mankind” over the poisoned spy row.

Evgeny Buzhinsky – who served in the Russian military for more than 40 years – said the row between Britain and Putin was creating a situation “worse than the Cold War”.

Buzhinsky told the BBC the expelling of diplomats by both countries over the poisoning of Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in Salisbury could lead to war.Buzhinsky said that Britain and Russia were heading for “a real war”.

He said: “Worse than the Cold War is a real war.

Russian general has warned of 'last war' with UK“It will be the last war in the history of mankind.”

Skripal and his daughter have been in hospital since ingesting the deadly nerve agent novichok in Salisbury, Wilts on March 4.

Buzhinsky was asked if the poisoning of Skripal could lead directly to war. He responded: “Not the Salisbury poisoning, but the pressure.

“The United States is saying the pressure will continue. What is that going to achieve? You are going to achieve regime change? It is useless.

“You don’t know Russians. There more pressure there is, the more the society is concentrated around the president.”

And he warned that the row was only going to escalate further.

“You expel diplomats, we expel diplomats, you further expel, what’s the next step? It’s a breach of diplomatic relations.

“Actually you are cornering Russia, and to corner Russia is a very dangerous thing.”

Vladimir Putin won the Russian election last month by a landslide to give him a record fifth term as president.

Former UK Ambassador to Moscow Sir Tony Brenton said Buzhinsky’s comments were a “relatively mainstream view” in Russia.

Speaking to the BBC Sir Tony said: “What we have is not a Putin problem, what we have is a Russia problem.”

Russia has denied any involvement in the poisoning of Sergei and Yulia Skripal.

Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said that Skripal’s poisoning was “in the UK’s interests” and accused the West of playing “children’s games”.

He argued that Moscow had no reason to attack Mr Skripal, a former MI6 double-agent released in a 2010 spy swap.

He claimed that the poisoning “could also be advantageous to the British government, who find themselves in a difficult situation having failed to fulfil their promises to voters over Brexit”.

Around 150 Russian diplomats have been expelled from 25 countries — including 23 from the UK — since the poisoning of Skripal.

Yesterday it was revealed Yulia Skripal was given £150,000 in a secret bank account days before the Salisbury poisoning. (Click to Source)

Trump Will Meet With Kim Jong-Un, Anthony Kennedy May Retire

8-trump-kim-w1200-h630

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has reportedly requested a direct, face-to-face meeting with President Trump to talk about complete denuclearization.  In a shocking announcement, the President has agreed to a meeting “by May”—presumably to occur shortly before Israel’s 70th anniversary on May 14th.

In the meantime, North Korea has agreed to suspend all missile and nuclear tests while conceding that U.S.-South Korean military exercises will continue.  The sudden, concessionary tone from Kim Jong-un has startled geopolitical analysts, showing that Reagan-esque “peace through strength” is the only effective method of international diplomacy, but time will tell.  One thing is for sure—the last 30 years of Democrat and Neocon policies have done absolutely nothing to dissuade the North Korean leadership.  All the while hundreds of thousands—including untold numbers of Christians—continue to languish in labor camps.

In other news, rumor is continuing to boil that Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy may retire this summer, which would be a vacancy that could fundamentally transform SCOTUS from socially liberal to socially conservative (Kennedy was the deciding vote on gay marriage and numerous other issues).  For the nation’s sake I pray he does.  I also pray that he stands up for religious liberty in the upcoming, monumentally important case involving a Christian baker in Colorado who refused to bake a cake for a gay wedding.  If he sides with the court’s four liberals, Christian liberty will be stifled like never before.

Please pray with me.

I also want to bring attention to another rapidly developing story that is being largely ignored—the situation for the minority white population in South Africa has suddenly deteriorated and some reports are suggesting they may be in imminent danger.  Please, please pray for this situation immediately.  We have readers in South Africa.  They and their families need your prayers.

Last week the Parliament of South Africa voted to allow the bureaucratic seizure of land owned by white farmers without compensation.  To further inflame tensions, the leader of the racist EFF party has called for violence against whites in the country, setting off alarm bells about a Rwanda-repeat.

I want to hear from our South African friends if you have any news about this.

Lastly, speculation is building about the significance of March 20th, the presumed start of the next biblical year.  I would be remiss not to mention this.  There is an incredible plethora of numbers, patterns, and day counts pointing to this day, and it’s a day that signals not only the end of the year in which the Revelation 12Sign occurred, but also the beginning of the year in which Israel will celebrate its 70th anniversary.  That is significant in and of itself.

That being said, I think we can make a mistake by suggesting numbers, patterns, and day counts can only find their significance in the rapture.  To the contrary, every day is significant and controlled by God, and some days more significant than others, but sometimes it takes time to realize what that significance is.  For example, the Super Blood Moon in September 2015 didn’t signal the rapture, but the entrance of large numbers of Russian and Iranian troops into the biblical boundaries of Northern Israel.  Likewise, the blood moon in April 2014 did not pinpoint the rapture, but marked a significant number of geopolitical developments and armed conflicts, including the rise of the Islamic State’s caliphate and the civil war in Ukraine.

While I believe the rapture is imminent (probably this year), I’m not sure exactly how this will all play out. (Click to Source)

Torah Commentary – Sh’mini – The Eighth Day – Passover – Opportunities to … – SCRIPTURES FOR April 7, 2017

Torah Commentary
There is a bit of confusion on whether the Torah this week is the end of Pesach or S’himini. Since we always aim to please you will find a commentary on both listed below.
Sh’mini
Leviticus 9:1 – 11:47
2 Samuel 6:1-19
Hebrews 8:1-6
The Eighth Day
With every passing day it seems I yearn more for a realm known as the eighth day. I see not only the wars and rumors of wars, famines and earthquakes, but I observe and experience for myself just how painful life can be on this side of the restoration of all things.
Recently I stood on the Temple Mount and saw Arab children playing soccer on the holiest site on earth. I did not feel animosity toward them, but rather to the one who is behind the demonic religion they are being taught to serve. On another day I looked out the bus window and saw the memorial to a Jew killed in Ariel just a few weeks ago. What was his crime? Being a Jew and breathing the air of Israel. I talked with friends in Israel who struggle with life and death on a daily basis. The yearning for His Eighth Day increased.
In recent days I have wept with my wife over the loss of our pet and wept for a daughter in law who lost her beloved senior dog just days later. I yearn for the Eighth Day.
This week’s Torah portion is titled Sh’mini or Eighth. It is speaking to us of a realm beyond our own. It is one which will only be revealed after the tribulation and a thousand year reign in which the written Torah will go forth from Jerusalem by none other than the Living Torah seated upon a throne. It is a time which none of us can really comprehend. Men such as Ezekiel, John and Rav Saul were given glimpses into this time. What did they think when the veil to the Eternal Kingdom was pulled back for them? Saul described the experience best in 1 Corinthians 2 when he said the eye has not seen, nor ear heard the things we have in store for us.
What do the shadows in this Torah portion teach us about that day? In Leviticus 9:4 we read HaShem will appear to us. I believe in that day it will not be the partial or veiled appearing such as Moshe saw, but we will see His fullness. What will be our response on that day? Look at Leviticus 9:24. The Hebrews shouted in amazement and fell on their faces. Will we do the same, but multiplied many times over? So much for the thought of casually walking up to “The Man Upstairs” to ask Him a few unanswered questions!
This Torah portion also contains two unique properties. In Leviticus 10:16 we find the middle of Torah and in 11:42 the center letter of Torah.  What does this teach us about the Eighth Day?
In 11:42 the center letter is a vav. The vav connects all things to all things as we see in the Tabernacle. The vav connected all items to make the Tabernacle echad, (one.) The vav is in the midst of the verse speaking of the detestable thing which crawls on the ground. Sounds like a serpent in a garden. Reminds me of the word spoken that he will be destroyed and all will be redeemed. Can we, draw from this the “Heart of Torah,” which is the heart of Yah, is about redemption?
The other verse, I mentioned, which is known as the middle of Torah is Leviticus 10:16. The words to the left and right in the Complete Jewish Bible are that Moshe “carefully investigated.” Hebrew would better translate that Moshe “searchingly searched.” With either translation the message becomes clear that those who searchingly search to carefully investigate will find the heart of redemption which is the Eighth Day, the day of the restoration of all things.
Allow me to sum this up as follows. There is an Eighth Day coming. There will be no one who simply stumbles into that realm. It is a time reserved for those who searchingly search for His heart, the heart of redemption. For now though it is only a realm which we can imagine, or can we really? It will be a moment in which even the breath in our bodies will explode with a shout. When we see the love, compassion, patience, grace and mercy in His eyes, we will fall on our faces as He is revealed to us in full. It will be in this moment that the trials, tribulations, tears and pain of this life will melt from our beings. All will be restored and we will again walk with Him in the cool of a garden evening breeze. I cannot even figure out what that means, but I know with every fiber of my being, I yearn for the day to come.

Opportunities to …
I sat down at my computer yesterday and wrote a commentary for this week. After finishing I found that the readings I was using were not for this week, but rather for next week. At least this is what some schedules based on a few calendars have listed. I emailed a list of readings for the counting of the omer. Before I hit the send key I thought about how my readings and counting might not line up with some others who were following a different calendar. I added a note to the email requesting others to walk in respect of others who see things differently.
Even my own walk has been one of changes in understanding. I have set my dates by the Hillel calendar and by the sighting of the moon. I have looked at, prayed about and studied the reasoning of both as well as the ripened barley in Israel. Today, I have decided to use the Hillel calendar knowing full well that there are people who have unsubscribed from my newsletter because of my decision. Truth is that no matter which way I go I would have some who would unsubscribe. In the end I have to do what I feel is right for me and my family.
What do I do with those who disagree? Exactly what I said earlier, respect. It is as simple as this, I show respect. What is respect though? For many people respect is a temporary pause in the discussion so the person can have a bit more time to find that magical Scripture which is going to prove the other person wrong. Once found, the person attacks the other with both barrels blazing. If you do not agree with their viewpoint, the respect comes to a halt and separation begins. This is not the respect I am talking about. Respect to me is being able to discuss without the need to “win.” To agree to disagree.
This brings up a question. Why did HaShem allow these possibilities for different interpretation? Did He not know they were in His Word? Could He have made it so clear there would be no discussion? Maybe that word, discussion, is the clue. He not only allowed room for interpretation and discussion, He planned it. Why? To present us opportunities to either love each other through our differences or divide because of them. Which one have we as a whole been known for? I don’t need to provide the answer, do I?
We can boil it all down to a very basic thought. Differences in interpretation are designed into Scripture to give an opportunity to respect and love or divide and hate. There is, however, a complication to the equation. I only have control over one of the parties, me. I can show love and respect all I want, but if it is not given back we are not going anywhere. What do we do when love and respect is a one way street? Keep walking and find others who have the same motives as you and pray for those who are left behind in their “I am right” attitudes.
In John 13:35, Yeshua does not say people will know we are His by our pure doctrines, but rather by the love we show toward each other. What does it mean to walk in love toward each other? A friend of mine in Israel put it as best as I have ever heard. He said, “Love is not staring into each other’s eyes, but rather walking toward a common destination.” This says it all to me.
Whether you and I agree on every Scripture, doctrine, calendar or way of life, (I doubt that will happen) the questions is, “what is our common destination”? Is it His Kingdom being established soon and in our day? If that is the case, I can walk with you, if you can walk with me. When we get to the destination, to quote a pastor and teacher from years ago, J. Vernon McGee, “He will straighten you out…right after He straightens me out.”
Make a decision before you take another step, a decision to simply not take the bait of division. You stand your ground and know “In Whom you have believed.” Keep walking as if you do not have time for meaningless and futile arguments. Don’t allow yourself to be lead off the road by things which may in the end not matter. Show love and respect. You never know, maybe others are just waiting to see someone who will take the lead. In the end, you may take a moment, turn around and see a few people following. (Click to Source)
