Torah Commentary – Pinchas”Phineas” – Zeal In The Camp – SCRIPTURES FOR July 27, 2019

Torah Commentary

Numbers 25:10-30:1
1 Kings 18:46-19:21
2 Timothy 1-4; Titus 1-3; Philemon 1
Zeal In The Camp
Reading about the Hebrews and their journey through the wilderness  has taken on so much meaning in the past few years. With each passing year it becomes more and more special to read about their lives. It is not that the accounts of their lives become more exciting, but as His Day approaches, reading about the lives of the Hebrews causes me to sit back and allow my own thoughts to wander. I think about how different their walk was from ours today, but with the differences come so many striking similarities. Their walk was different because times have changed, but it was so simular because people do not change.
This week we read about people who no matter the blessings of The Almighty in their lives desired the quick passing pleasure of sin rather than the righteousness of their Creator. We read about one man who took the bull by the horns and made a difference. If you look between the lines we also see the masses called the majority who just sat and watched as spectators on a sideline.
The main character in the opening words of this weeks Torah is a man named Pinchas. He came on the scene rather quickly last week and became the hero of the day to stop a plague which was sweeping through the people because of sin in the camp. His heroic efforts cause him to not only take a place in recorded history, but also brings him and his family into a promotion promised not only for the lifetime of Phichas, but forever.
What was it that brought about the blessing Pinchas would walk in? It is boiled down to one word, zeal. But what exactly is zeal?
Webster defines zeal as “great energy or enthusiasm in pursuit of a cause or an objective.” Zeal is something which is easy to define, but rather hard to teach. Fact is, I do not think you can teach zeal. You can teach emotions and hype which last about as long as the passing pleasure of sin, but zeal is another matter. I have come to the conclusion after years of teaching that there is no way to teach zeal. Zeal can not be taught, zeal must be caught!
Pinchas did not get his zeal from a book. We are not told where Pinchas got his zeal from. It could have been directly from Moses himself. Or maybe it was Joshua? There is an interesting thought. Maybe there is more to the man Joshua than we know up to this point. So far all we know about him is that he stuck pretty close to Moses most of the time. He was no doubt addicted to the presence of Elohim, for when Moses left the Tabernacle, Joshua would stay behind. What was Joshua doing with his time during a normal day though? Maybe he was passing on a zeal he had not been taught, but rather had caught from his time in the presence of Moses and of course Elohim Himself. If this is so, it sure paid off not only in the life of Pinchas, but in the lives of many Hebrews that infamous day.
This of course brings us to a question. How is our zealousness today? Do we have the kind of zealous pursuit of HaShem that causes others around us to sit up and take notice? Do we have a zealousness that is affecting other people around us? Are we ever zealous enough about Him for people to notice?
A zealous lifestyle will cause you to do things others are not willing to do. Zealousness will cause you to step out of a crowd like Pinchas or a Judas Maccabee. It will cause you to do things others are just not willing to do. Zealousness will cause you to be different from the crowd. Zealousness will cause you to be admired by some, but not accepted by most. Zealousness will cause you to be misunderstood most of the time. Zealousness will cause you to loose many friends, but in the end have the greatest influence on people. Above all, zealousness for Him will cause Him to be zealous over you. Personally I can not think of a better reason to desire to catch this wonderful trait of His the scripture calls zealous. (Click to Source)

Considering the Outcome of Your Trial

Tim Dilena –  July 27, 2019

“Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God” (James 1:2-5, NASB).

James was a leader with a direct way of speaking — lacking pleasantries or preambles, he was blunt and straight to business. After a one-word greeting, he launched right into his letter with this imperative: “Consider it all joy.” In other words, be happy when you are in an unlikely place called difficulty. But finding joy when things are rough is challenging, so the following four words will help you understand how you can obtain it.

CONSIDER – KNOW – LET – ASK

James knows that when you come to Jesus you are going to face trials and tribulations, and he says that whenever, not if, you face them, you are to consider it joy. You may have to refocus in order to find the joy, but it is there. It comes from considering the outcome of what you are enduring and following the biblical admonition to closely reflect on it.

Don’t give up before your testing is over. An important thing to know is that your trials are not taking anything from you; they are producing good things in you. It may feel as though God is against you, but he is for you and is maturing you, so don’t abort his mission. In other words, do not waste your trials. You could be close to the end, so let God’s grace enable you to endure.

Finally, what if you get to a place where you have no idea what to do? Simply ask God for wisdom and he will guide you. In fact, asking God is really just another phrase for prayer, so put your trust in him and ask freely — with confidence. (Click to Source)

Addiction Ends at the Foot of the Cross by True Salvation thru Yeshua the Messiah – Jesus Christ

Your Daily Readings – Verse of the Day – Proverbs 3:11 – 12 – July 27, 2019

Proverbs 3:1-35

My son, don’t forget my teaching,
keep my commands in your heart;
for they will add to you many days,
years of life and peace.

Do not let grace and truth leave you —
bind them around your neck;
write them on the tablet of your heart.
Then you will win favor and esteem
in the sight of God and of people.

Trust in Adonai with all your heart;
do not rely on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him;
then he will level your paths.

Don’t be conceited about your own wisdom;
but fear Adonai, and turn from evil.
This will bring health to your body
and give strength to your bones.

Honor Adonai with your wealth
and with the firstfruits of all your income.
10 Then your granaries will be filled
and your vats overflow with new wine.

11 My son, don’t despise Adonai’s discipline
or resent his reproof;
12 for Adonai corrects those he loves
like a father who delights in his son.

13 Happy the person who finds wisdom,
the person who acquires understanding;
14 for her profit exceeds that of silver,
gaining her is better than gold,
15 she is more precious than pearls —
nothing you want can compare with her.
16 Long life is in her right hand,
riches and honor in her left.
17 Her ways are pleasant ways,
and all her paths are peace.
18 She is a tree of life to those who grasp her;
whoever holds fast to her will be made happy.

19 Adonai by wisdom founded the earth,
by understanding he established the heavens,
20 by his knowledge the deep [springs] burst open
and the dew condenses from the sky.
21 My son, don’t let these slip from your sight;
preserve common sense and discretion;
22 they will be life for your being
and grace for your neck.
23 Then you will walk your way securely,
without hurting your foot.
24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid;
when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.

25 Don’t be afraid of sudden terror or destruction
caused by the wicked, when it comes;
26 for you can rely on Adonai;
he will keep your foot from being caught in a trap.

27 Don’t withhold good from someone entitled to it
when you have in hand the power to do it.
28 Don’t tell your neighbor, “Go away! Come another time;
I’ll give it to you tomorrow,” when you have it now.
29 Don’t plan harm against your neighbor
who lives beside you trustingly.
30 Don’t quarrel with someone for no reason,
if he has done you no harm.
31 Don’t envy a man of violence,
don’t choose any of his ways;
32 for the perverse is an abomination to Adonai,
but he shares his secret counsel with the upright.
33 Adonai’s curse is in the house of the wicked,
but he blesses the home of the righteous.
34 The scornful he scorns,
but gives grace to the humble.
35 The wise win honor,
but fools win shame.

Joni Eareckson Tada Shares ‘Miraculous’ Announcement: She’s Cancer-Free

Evangelist Joni Eareckson Tada, known for her stalwart faith despite a series of health battles, most notably becoming a quadriplegic in the late 1960s, shared some very good news last week.

Tada, who ultimately became paralyzed from the neck down in 1967, when she dove into the Chesapeake Bay after misjudging the depth of the water, announced last November she had been diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time.

But last Tuesday, she revealed on social media she was cancer-free — a development she described as “miraculous.”

“We were prepared to gladly take whatever from the hand of God, even if it were from his left hand,” Tada wrote. “But the Lord was gracious and heard the desire of our hearts.”

The 69-year-old author and speaker said a PET scan earlier this month revealed her second tumor, which was discovered late last year, was successfully removed and “did not metastasize.”

“Given the aggressive nature of that reoccurring cancer,” she added, “this news is quite miraculous.”

Three years after being declared cancer-free, a small nodule was discovered on the site of Tada’s mastectomy, which she underwent along with chemotherapy treatment in 2010, when she was first diagnosed with breast cancer.

As for Tada’s husband, Ken, he told The Christian Post in 2012 that his wife’s battle with breast cancer actually “reignited our marriage and our love for each other.”

“Basically,” Ken said, “when I — when we — first discovered the deformity and not knowing what it was, set up the mammogram, the only thing that we learned in that early journey of cancer was it’s a hurry-up-and-wait situation.”

He continued, “So the cancer journey, during that time, everything stopped. We got a chance to talk. We hadn’t ever talked before, and the two of us grew closer together during that time. Not closer just with each other, but also closer to Jesus.”

What else?

Tada explained during a February interview with LifeWay’s Facts and Trends that she is confident God is still using her on earth. While she is “ready at any time” to go to heaven, she said, “I think it’s more needful for Christ that I remain for his purposes.”

“There are millions of people with disabilities who don’t know Jesus,” she explained. “And that’s why I show up at work every single day at Joni and Friends. It breaks my heart to think the suffering a person in a wheelchair is going through is only an omen of even greater suffering to come if he doesn’t know Christ.”

In addition to ministering to those with various disabilities, Tada has recently used her platform to decry the growing trend of euthanasia — or “physician-assisted suicide” — in the U.S. and elsewhere.

Writing for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association’s Decision magazine, Tada urged her fellow Christians to speak up against euthanasia, arguing “thousands” will lose their lives if the church doesn’t speak up.

Tada also revealed that, more than 50 years ago, when she was first paralyzed, she wanted to “end it all.”

“I begged my high school friends to bring in their mothers’ pills or their fathers’ razors,” she wrote, adding that, when he friends refused, she would “violently jerk” her head back and forth, “hoping to break my neck at a higher place and thus kill myself.”

Now, though, she’s content. Tada said it’s a “good thing” she didn’t succeed in taking her own life, noting, however, that — thanks to a series of pro-euthanasia laws in several U.S. states and European countries — she “could still get my death wish.”

Tada cited a 2018 Gallup survey, which found a stunning 41 percent of churchgoers agreed physician-assisted suicide should be accessible to a person who “has a disease that cannot be cured and is living in severe pain.”

The well-known evangelist and writer said that statistic revealed to her Christians — as well as the general population — “don’t have a biblical worldview on suffering.”

“We don’t know how to deal with it,” she wrote. “We want to drug it, escape it, euthanize it, do anything but live with it.” (Click to Source)

Hospitals are putting Native American patients at risk for opioid abuse, audit says

Associated Press Published 11:17 a.m. ET July 22, 2019 | Updated 3:53 p.m. ET July 22, 2019

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — U.S. government hospitals placed Native American patients at increased risk for opioid abuse and overdoses, failing to follow their own protocols for prescribing and dispensing the drugs, according to a federal audit made public Monday.

The report by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Inspector General does not draw conclusions about actual abuse or overdoses. But it said all five Indian Health Service hospitals that were reviewed had patients who were given opioids in amounts exceeding federal guidelines.

“There are vulnerabilities with this particular population in the opioid prescribing and dispensing practices,” said Carla Lewis, one of the auditors.

The overdose epidemic that has killed more people than any other drug epidemic in U.S. history has hit indigenous communities hard. Native Americans and Alaska Natives had the second-highest rate of opioid overdose out of all U.S. racial and ethnic groups in 2017, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The report made more than a dozen recommendations to the Indian Health Service to better track patients’ health records and pain management, ensure opioids are stored under tighter security and update its information technology systems. The agency agreed on every point and said changes were coming.

The Indian Health Service, the federal agency that administers primary health care for Native Americans, has put an increased focus on opioids lately with a new website and the creation of a committee focused on decreasing overdose deaths, promoting culturally appropriate treatments and ensuring that communities know how to respond.

The audit covered five of the 25 hospitals directly run by the Indian Health Service: the Phoenix Indian Medical Center in Phoenix; Northern Navajo Medical Center on the Navajo Nation in Shiprock, New Mexico; the Lawton Indian Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma; the Cass Lake Indian Hospital on the Leech Lake reservation in Cass Lake, Minnesota; and the Fort Yates Hospital on the Standing Rock Sioux reservation in Fort Yates, North Dakota.

Auditors considered the amount of opioids each hospital dispensed and the percentage increase over three years when deciding which ones to review. They looked at 30 patient records at each hospital, visited the facilities and interviewed staff.

The auditors found that the hospitals strayed from guidelines in the Indian Health Manual in reviewing treatment for patients and their causes of pain every three months. Patients also must sign a written consent form and an agreement to treat chronic pain with opioids so they know the risks and benefits, as well as the requirement for drug screenings. More than 100 patient records did not include evidence of informed consent, and dozens did not have evidence that providers adequately educated patients.

The Centers for Disease Control recommends that patients be prescribed no more than 90 morphine milligram equivalents per day, a measure used to compare an opioid dose with morphine.

The audit found that each hospital met or exceeded that amount at times. At the Shiprock hospital, the daily dosage was more than four times as high. The auditors also found some patients were prescribed opioids and benzodiazepines — commonly used to treat anxiety and insomnia —at the same time, which “puts patients at a greater risk of a potentially fatal overdose.”

Franklin Graham: ‘Equality Act’ will lead to Christian persecution ‘as never before’

July 15, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – Evangelical leader Rev. Franklin Graham is speaking out against one of the LGBT lobby’s top congressional priorities, warning that the so-called Equality Act would have “catastrophic consequences” for both religious freedom and women’s rights if it became law.

The Equality Act would amend the 1964 Civil Rights Act to include “sex,” “sexual orientation,” and “gender identity” among expressly recognized “non-discrimination” categories in “public accommodations” (the definition of which would be dramatically expanded); and force employers of 15 or more people to recognize their claimed “gender identity,” forbid them from “discriminating” based on “sexual orientation” or “gender identity,” and mandate transgender “access” to sex-specific facilities.

In May, the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives voted to pass the bill, which Graham warns could become law depending on the outcome of next year’s elections, WND reports.

“If the Senate majority changes or if enough Republican senators change their position, it would be up to the president to veto the bill. And if that office were to change hands in 2020, I have little doubt this would become the law of the land,” Graham wrote in the July-August issue of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association magazine Decision.

If that happens, he continued, Christian employers “would lose all protections to hire people who adhere to their biblical statements of faith. Christians will be persecuted for their sincerely held beliefs as never before. The clear teachings of the Bible on the sins of homosexuality and abortion will no doubt be considered ‘hate speech.’ It will be a nightmare from which this nation may never recover.”

Conservatives have long warned that the legislation’s true purpose is not to protect homosexual or gender-confused Americans from tangible harm, but to force other Americans such as photographers, florists, and bakers to participate in same-sex “weddings”; to force employers and businesses to accommodate cross-dressing, same-sex cohabitation, and sex-change treatments regardless of their own values or policies; and to force women and girls to sleep, shower, and use the bathroomalongside gender-confused males.

WND adds that in the same issue, the Graham association’s Jerry Pierce warned that the Equality Act “would make no exemptions for religious institutions and explicitly invalidates the federal Religious Freedom Restoration Act,” leading to the closure of adoption agencies that insist children be placed in homes with a mother and a father along with stripping “parents of their right to raise and educate their own children if their beliefs contradict government mandates.”

“Rather than offering meaningful protections for individuals, the Equality Act would impose sweeping new norms that negatively impact the unborn, health care, charitable services, schools, personal privacy, athletics, free speech, religious liberties, and parental rights,” five chairmen of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) declared in May.

“The Act’s unsound definitions of ‘sex’ and ’gender identity’ would erase women’s distinct, hard-won recognition in federal laws. Its sex-based nondiscrimination terms would end women’s shelters and many single-sex schools. It would close faith-based foster care and adoption agencies that honor children’s rights to a mother and father. The bill would even act as an abortion mandate,” the bishops added.

The Daily Caller reported last month that every 2020 Democrat presidential candidate averaging above 1% in the polls has endorsed the Equality Act, including former Vice President Joe Biden, South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, and Sens. Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris, and Elizabeth Warren. (Click to Source)

Trump takes action against child trafficking foster care system, dealing huge blow to left-wing deep state pedophilia

Sunday, July 21, 2019 by: Ethan Huff

(Natural News) Back in February, President Trump quietly signed into law the “Family First Prevention Services Act” which, when it finally comes into effect on October 1, will greatly curtail abuses within the foster care system that facilitate the child sex trafficking and pedophilia rings operated undercover by the evil, left-wing deep state.

Family First will basically prioritize federal funding for orphan children to be able to stay with their families, close relatives, or family friends, if at all possible, as opposed to having them be sent to lucrative group homes with strangers, where they’re sometimes abused or even sold into sex slavery.

“With the Family First Prevention Services Act states, territories, and tribes with an approved Title IV-E plan have the option to use these funds for prevention services that would allow ‘candidates for foster care’ to stay with their parents or relatives,” reads a notice about the legislation and what it will entail that was recently published by the National Conference of State Legislatures.

“States will be reimbursed for prevention services for up to 12 months,” it adds. “A written, trauma-informed prevention plan must be created, and services will need to be evidence-based. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) expects to release guidance on service eligibility before Oct. 1, 2018.”

Family First comes at a critical point in time when families and activists are really starting to speak out about the horrors they’ve observed or endured at the hands of Child Protective Services (CPS). As we’ve reported, some parents have had their children forcibly kidnapped and removed from their care by CPS agents on bogus charges, only to have those children end up being trafficked.

According to a guidance that was issued by Iowa’s Department of Human Services, Family First “will prevent the need for removal” of children by CPS “through evidence-based family preservation services,” which include mental health assessments, substance abuse treatment programs, and “in-home, parent skill-based programs that include parent education, and individual and family counseling.”

For more related news about CPS and how it functions as a child trafficking front, visit DeepState.news.

Why don’t liberals care that CPS is separating children from their families? And why aren’t they appreciative that President Trump is trying to do something about it?

One recent example of this involves Cynthia Abcug, whose autistic son Michael was reportedly abducted by CPS recently on accusations that his mother had somehow “misdiagnosed” him with autism.

Cynthia hasn’t seen her son Michael in two months, and she says she has no idea where he is or even who’s taking care of him. She was told by a tipster that CPS intentionally gave her the wrong case number for her son, and after obtaining the correct one, she learned that a judge had given authorization for Michael to be taken to Disney World in Orlando, Florida, from August 3-10.

“Abcug is concerned that Michael could be human-trafficked, or suffer seizures in the Florida heat,” Big League Politics reports about this dire situation.

“Abcug’s lawyer has fired off a response to the travel motion to Douglas County District Court in Colorado contesting the child’s authorization to travel out of state.”

You can keep up with the latest developments in Cynthia’s horrific saga of trying to get her son back from the CPS police state at her Twitter account.

There are many more similar such cases, none of which are being protested by the angry liberals who pretend to care about children being “separated” from their families, that you can read about at BigLeaguePolitics.com.  (Click to Source)

Addiction Ends at the Foot of the Cross by True Salvation thru Yeshua the Messiah – Jesus Christ

BEAUTIFUL REST IN MY LORD

David Wilkerson (1931-2011) July 23, 2019

“In Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore” (Psalm 16:11).

Christians are growing further dissatisfied with the way things are in the world and in the church. These saints are saying, “God has something more for us! He is calling us to know him better and we want to walk in obedience to that call.” They are beginning to fast and pray in their quest for more spiritual depth.

When the Lord wants to touch you supernaturally, he will stir your nest. An inexplicable divine restlessness will come upon you and you will become disinterested in much of what you have been doing in life. All your accomplishments will leave you feeling empty and unfulfilled, and you will sense a deep, unmet need in your spirit.

The mark of this supernatural dealing is a hungry heart. Every waking hour your heart will reach out to him, and his thoughts will always be on your mind. God wants you to turn loose of the things of this world and find your completeness in him.

Is your soul hungry for more of the Holy Spirit in your life? Do you sense his call to a deeper walk with God? If so, end the war inside your heart by yielding everything to the Master. You can know true peace and happiness the moment you quit striving to acquire greater success or more “things” to satisfy your ego. Seek nothing but Jesus, and your life will take on new meaning. Anxiety will be gone, worldly ambition will die, and your spiritual eyes will be opened to truth.

When the Holy Spirit gives you revelation knowledge, you will experience true riches in Christ Jesus. You will awaken each morning with overflowing joy and your soul will cry out, “I have found what my soul has been longing for. Rest — beautiful rest in my Lord.” (Click to Source)
