Dubbed the “New York Declaration,” the seven-page document urges both Israel and Hamas to exit Gaza, calls for the deployment of international stabilization forces, and pressures Jerusalem to publicly endorse a sovereign Palestinian state—despite fierce rejection from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and a firm boycott from the Trump administration, which called the UN gathering “unproductive and ill-timed.”

The Declaration marks the first time the entire 22-member Arab League and several key Muslim nations have publicly condemned Hamas’s actions on October 7, in which over 1,200 Israelis were murdered and 251 taken hostage.
“This is both historic and unprecedented,” proclaimed French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, whose nation co-chaired the event with Saudi Arabia. “For the first time, Arab countries… call for the disarmament of Hamas and express their intention to normalize relations with Israel in the future.”
But prophetic watchers and geopolitical realists see a darker undercurrent. Is this truly a path to peace—or a prelude to the “covenant with many” warned of in Daniel 9:27? The push for peace amid global pressure eerily aligns with biblical prophecy. In Daniel 9:27, a covenant is confirmed “with many” for one week, initiating a false peace that will be broken midway.
