DONALD Trump has inked the biggest arms deal in history to supply Saudi Arabia with $142bn worth of weapons, the White House says.
The sale is part of a landmark $600 billion deal with Jeddah that was signed after Trump landed in Riyadh to kickstart his Middle East tour on Tuesday.
The President has also taken a shot at rival Iran in a marquee speech saying the Islamic Republic needed to make up its mind about if it wanted to chase developing a nuclear weapon and get war or choose peace and a trading relationship.
He said: “If Iran rejects olive branch, we will have no choice but to inflict massive maximum pressure, drive Iranian exports to zero… and take all action required to stop the regime from having a nuclear weapon.
“Iran will never have a nuclear weapon.”
The US-Saudi deal would improve the defense capabilities of Saudi, including its military academies.
Energy, mining, space, and sport are also part of the gigantic agreement – which fell short of Trump’s $1tn goal.
Powerful business executives travelled with Trump, including his key ally and SpaceX boss Elon Musk ,the founders of finance titan BlackRock, and the founder and CEO of chip giant Nvidia.
Don received a royal welcome from Saudi Arabia’s de facto ruler Mohammed bin Salman as he began his tour of the Middle East.
It marks Trump’s first state visit of his second administration – after Saudi was also the first state visit in 2016.
The crown prince is expected to fete Trump with a formal dinner that will also include Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
They are expected to discuss Iran’s nuclear program, Israel’s war in Gaza, oil prices, and more during his time in the Middle East.
Securing new investments in the US from Gulf states will be a key focus for the president after disrupting world trade with his brutal tariffs.
Trump has also said he may travel on Thursday to Turkey for potential face-to-face talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
