Mobile World Congress Demos Live Microchip Implants For Bank Payments

BY PNW STAFF MARCH 13, 2019

he buzz around microchip implants was ratcheted up a notch recently with a demonstration at the World Mobile Congress in Barcelona where a man volunteered to to have a chip inserted under his skin, and another showed off how to make payments using his chip insert.
One of the volunteers, Edgar Pons said he decided to have an RFID chip implanted under his skin because it contained credentials to open the door to his house.
Reuters quoted him, saying; “It is super, for me, very useful, because I have an automatic house.”
As Pons was undergoing the procedure, Alex Rodriguez Vitello, a physicist, engineer, curator and explorer at Barcelona-based technology company Alpha, said;
“The chip is the size of a grain of sand or two and it’s covered in a material that is biocompatible so our body doesn’t degrade it over time.”
During the presentation at the MWC 2019 — organized by Spanish bank Sabadell, a man named Pau who had already been fitted with a chip, made a payment by placing his smartphone over the skin covering the chip.
“What we have been seeing now is what the future of payments could be,” said Anna Puigoriol, a financial services manager at Sabadell.
This chip implant is the same technology that allows you to use Apple Pay or Samsung Pay at more technologically inclined outlets today. Banks are considering its deployment but are proceeding cautiously due to privacy and tech concerns.
At one time, the idea that large numbers of people would willingly allow themselves to have microchips implanted into their hands seemed a bit crazy, but now it has become a reality.
Thousands of tech enthusiasts all across Europe have already had microchips implanted, and now a Swedish company is working with very large global employers to implement this on the corporate level.
In fact, Biohax recently told one of the biggest newspapers in the UK that they have been talking with a “major financial services firm” that has  “hundreds of thousands of employees”…
Biohax, a Swedish company that provides human chip implants, told the Telegraph it was in talks with a number of UK legal and financial firms to implant staff with the devices.
One prospective client, which cannot be named, is a major financial services firm with “hundreds of thousands of employees.”

For security-obsessed corporations, this sort of technology can appear to have a lot of upside.  If all of your employees are chipped, you will always know where they are, and you will always know who has access to sensitive areas or sensitive information.

According to a top official from Biohax, the procedure to implant a chip takes “about two seconds”, and it is usually implanted in the hand…
A syringe is used to place the chip in an area between the thumb and forefinger, according to the report. Osterlund said the procedure is similar to ear piercing and takes “about two seconds.” The microchips operate via “near field communication” technology, similar to what is used by no-contact bank cards.
“In a company with 200,000 employees, you can offer this as an opt-in,” Osterlund told the Telegraph.
Right now, many companies use security badges, and I once worked in a building that required a security badge.
But security badges can be lost, stolen or forged.  Theoretically, microchip implants are much more permanent and much more secure, and that is one of the big selling points.  The following is what the chief medical officer of Biohax recently told Fox News…
“The chip implant is a secure way of ensuring that a person’s digital identity is linked to their physical identity. It enables access management in a way that protects individual self-sovereignty and allows users to control the privacy of their online activity,” Dr. Stewart Southey, the Chief Medical Officer at Biohax International, told Fox News.
Of course once this technology starts to be implemented, there will be some workers that will object.
But if it comes down to a choice between getting the implant or losing their jobs, how many workers do you think will choose to become unemployed?
Yes, there will be some that will sacrifice their jobs.  Personally, I will never let anyone put a chip in me.  But just like with so many other things, most of the population will simply choose to accept the “new technology”.
Sadly, the mainstream media is now openly telling us that this is coming.  For example, the following is an excerpt from a recent Fox News article entitled “Are you ready for a chip implant?”…
You walk into a grocery store and pick up eggs. No smartphone? No problem. You swipe your hand across a reader, and the amount is deducted from your bank account.
If that sounds far-fetched, you obviously haven’t been to Sweden recently, where thousands of people have reportedly had chips implanted in their bodies for riding the train.
And not too long ago, the NBC affiliate in Tampa profiled a mother that desperately wants to implant a microchip into her disabled child for safety reasons…
For Steffany Rodroguez-Neely, life is busier than ever. The Bay Area mother-of-three has her hands full 24-hours a day. The ages of her children run the gamut from newborn to teenager. While this Lutz mom prides herself in being an attentive, active, dedicated mother, she’s also a realist. She knows an emergency can happen in a matter of seconds, even to the best of parents.
When Steffany saw the recent tragedy in Pasco County where a toddler wandered into a pond and drowned, her heart was broken. As she talks about it, she shakes her head sadly, closes her eyes and sighs. “It was awful, so sad. You know, good parents have bad things happen,” Steffany told WFLA.
They always like to use the children to make us feel guilty.
The narrative will be that if you are against implantable microchips then you are against child safety and you are a bad person.  By now, you have seen how this works on issue after issue.  There won’t be any talk about the potential tyranny that government-issued identity microchips could unleash.  Instead, all of the talk will be about the “potential benefits” and about how this will make things so much safer “for the children”.
We truly do live in apocalyptic times, and many of us can see where all of this is leading.  Unfortunately, we can complain all that we want but the agenda just keeps moving forward.
Not too long ago, a Wisconsin-based company called Three Square Market began implanting microchips in their employees “on a voluntary basis”.  In the aftermath of that decision, USA Today published an article entitled “You will get chipped — eventually”.  Here are a few lines from that article…
You will get chipped. It’s just a matter of time.
In the aftermath of a Wisconsin firm embedding microchips in employees last week to ditch company badges and corporate logons, the Internet has entered into full-throated debate.
Can you see the psychological tricks that they are using on us?
They want you to believe that it is inevitable and that everyone around you will eventually give in and get chipped.
If this sounds like something you have read in the Book of Revelation you are correct. The Book of Revelation warns that during the Tribulation every person will be required to accept a mark which will signify worship of a one world leader and be necessary for commerce:  “And the second beast required all people small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark — the name of the beast or the number of its name. Here is a call for wisdom: Let the one who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and that number is six hundred sixty-six”. Revelation 13:16-18
Most Christians recognize that current chip implants are not the actual “mark of the beast”, yet there is concern that acceptance of such technology is conditioning people for when the real one does come along.
What often starts off as voluntary can just as easily become mandatory and whereas tech itself may be neutral, in the hands of the wrong person it could be extremely dangerous.  Imagine the technology of today in the hands of Hitler.
Christians have long debated the meaning of the “mark of the beast”.  Our generation, however, appears to be the first to have the technology to fulfill this prophecy.
Soon, you may have to answer the question: ‘would you get chipped’? (Click to Source)

The Growing Denial of the Rapture!

7685659a-7ecb-4a1e-b104-ff8f70d7b11c

It’s absolutely amazing to reflect upon the growing denial that the rapture of the Church is imminent. Somehow, it is becoming more and more fashionable to reject the most amazing and encouraging promise in all Scripture. Yet the promise is there, and clearly presented: At some time approaching the beginning of the seven-year tribulation, the Church – the Body of Christ, living and dead – will be instantly borne aloft, to be forever home with the Lord. Then will come the “wrath of the Lamb” (Rev. 6:16).

John, recording one of the most intimate scenes to be found in Scripture, recalls how Jesus told His disciples that He was leaving them for a little while, and that they couldn’t follow Him.

We all know the story. Peter argued that if allowed, he would accompany his Lord wherever He went, and would lay down his life for Him. Jesus’ answer is classic. He told the overly-enthusiastic Peter that before the cock crowed the next morning, he would stoutly deny that he was even one of the Lord’s disciples.

And then, Jesus responded by making a marvelous statement for the ages … to Peter and by extension, to all of us:

2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also” (Jn. 14:2,3).

The Apostle John faithfully recorded these words. Today, we read them with the emotion that was felt when they were initially uttered. This amazing promise began with the disciples, then spread through the infant Church: The one thing Jesus made very clear is that He will return at some point to take His followers home.

Later, other Apostles (chiefly Paul) were progressively given more and more details about this process and the timing of its conclusion. From the first century until the moment that one reads these words, His promise to return for His own is the central feature of the Church.

And speaking of the Church, there is the marvelous opening of the Book of Revelation. It begins by laying out the future pathway of the Church, illustrating its future history in the Letters to the Seven Churches. A very special promise is made to the Philadelphian Church:

“10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. 11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown” (Rev. 3:10-11).

The “hour of temptation” mentioned above can be translated “hour of testing” or “hour of trial.” Theologians down through the ages have taught that this is a metaphor for the Tribulation, which will be the period of ultimate testing for Israel, not the Church.

“1 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. 2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle;” (Zech 14:1,2).

Jerusalem is the center of the Tribulation’s battles, not the Church. Notice that Zechariah speaks of “all nations.” The Tribulation is global. Israel is the target. The Church is to be kept from the horrors of judgment, or to put it biblically, “I will come again and receive you unto myself.” What a promise!  (Click to Source)

The Countdown to the Vernal Equinox

February 24, 2018

The countdown to the Vernal Equinox expanded.

Here we have 70 years from Equinox to Equinox based on the Market number of 2-2-18 that was 25,520 and in days spans from the Equinox in 1948 to 2-2-2018.

2520 Days from David Wilkerson’s death, the super tornado breakout, and Obama releasing his birth certificate due to pressure from Donald Trump. David Wilkerson’s book predicted the downfall of America.

1260 Days from the second blood moon.

The middle of the Tetrad to 3-20 is 360pi+40, but is also linked through four Shevat 24’s utilizing 360pi, 354, and 777.

The Vernal Equinox eclipse on 3-20-15 was between the 2nd and 3rd lunar eclipse of the Tetrad. The next solar eclipse was the Great American Solar Eclipse, which occurred 153 degrees away from Pisces and in Leo next to Regulus. The sun returns back those 153 degrees on 3-20-18.

999 days after the gay marriage ruling of the Supreme Court and the rainbow lighting of the White House comes 3-20-18. 9 refers to judgement and here we have a trinity.

The next step is the chain of 490/pi days and 490 days. It begins with Pentecost on 6-12-16, which is also the day 50 were killed in Orlando. Pentecost was the conception of the Church. 490/pi days later was the Conception Comet C/2017 E1 that visited the womb of Virgo before Jupiter entered three days later. Continuing on another 490 days comes to 3-20-18. 490 is the seventy sevens of Daniel’s Seventy Weeks and Pentecost is the seven sevens. How fitting that the final seven may then begin timed after conception and the birth of the completed Body and Bride of Christ.

537 days matches the year BC when Israel returned after the 70 year Babylonian captivity. Here we are completing 70 years since the return of Israel.

430 is the amount of time Israel spent in Egypt and Canaan before entering the Promised Land. 430 was also the time found in Ezekiel 4 and with 70 years fulfilled, 360 years remained. If multiplied by seven due to non-repentance according to Leviticus, that resulted in 2520 years and in 360-day years that came to 1948 from 537 BC.

The Revelation 12 Sign comes half circle from Equinox to Equinox and also half a lunar year at 177 days. The period of 177 days has been repeated in the Tetrad and Earthquake Tetrad.

From the end of the earthquake tetrad of 7+ earthquakes spaced at 177 days and hinging off of open Jewish worship on the Temple Mount on 7-17-17, we have 70 days to 3-20-18. Another ode to the 70 years and the 70 years from Christ’s birth that the Temple now in ruins still lies.

42 Jews ascended the Temple Mount and worshipped regardless of the law. 9 weeks from this day is 3-20-18. The Jews will need this Spirit to thrive and survive in the 70th Week. 42 Days from that day is also Purim on 3-1-18.

Tu B’Shevat on 1-31-18 comes 7 weeks before 3-20-18. Tu B’Shevat 2018 was linked by phi to the Tetrad and was the first blood moon since. It fulfilled 70 years since the great Supermoon since 1-26-1948.

The seven and forty days seem to match the flood numbers, but more importantly it appears that from a lunar based year instead, we have been afforded 40 more days as a time for repentance.

The last item is Billy Graham who died 21 days from Tu B’Shevat and one month before the Equinox. His death comes at intersections of 153—the 2 dimensional triangle number equivalent to the 3 dimensional number of Methuselah—969. Billy Graham’s death bookends the ministry of David Wilkerson and his death seven years before. Many other significant pastors and teachers have died in between. Grant Jeffery even died 4 x 490 days before the Feast of Trumpets 2017. This number span was even in one of his breakout books, Armageddon: Appointment with Destiny!

The appointment looks to be here. It’s the final countdown. (Click to Source)

The POTUS, the SOTU, and the NWO

By Steve Schmutzer

trump-2546104__480-1-1280x480

I tend to dislike acronyms. That said, the title here implies a great deal in a few letters. It positions the “who,” the “what” and the “why” of our nation’s boiling political climate in one line.

I’ll start with the “who” and the “what.” I recently watched the President of the United States (the POTUS) deliver his State Of The Union speech (the SOTU) and I was absolutely appalled! Not at his speech, mind you. That was a very effective speech by a very capable leader. No – I was appalled at the behaviors of those who lead the left!

Consider the following examples as cases in point.

The Democrats refused to stand in recognition of basic achievements that make America great. When President Trump talked about our nation’s recent economic boom, they frowned. When he stated the fact that overall unemployment is at a 45-year low – and black unemployment specifically is at an all-time low – they sat on their hands like indignant statues. When our President laid out sensible plans to end the violence of gangs like MS-13 by securing our border, the left shrieked he was sowing disunity. When he used words like “church,” and “family,” they wailed he was “promoting 1950’s-era” values.

It got worse for the donkeys when chants of “USA! USA! USA!” reverberated through the crowd. The left whined it was “embarrassing,” and some of them got up and left. When President Trump underscored his official recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, the liberals howled that he was “promoting violence and undermining sensible peace efforts.”

The left is marinated in a revolting double-standard. When Barack Obama referred to himself 114 times in his own SOTU address in 2010, he was interrupted by the applause of his base 86 times. But when President Trump referred to himself only 44 times in his SOTU, the left was outraged at his “self-congratulatory speech.”

Under Obama, America was reminded that a declining economy and a rising unemployment was “the new normal” and that our best days were behind us. Now the left is frothing that we should credit Obama’s destructive policies for Trump’s unprecedented successes.

Here’s the bottom line: In one short year, President Trump has made America stronger, safer, and more successful. He has directed our country’s path back toward sanity, reassured its legal citizens, and put a healthy fear in those who are not. President Trump recognizes we are still a nation “under God,” and he has done what he can to align our country’s policies and positions with Bible-based principles.

If brains were dynamite, the left wouldn’t have enough to blow its nose. In a public moment where our President spoke to the foundational concerns of all American people – regardless of their race, color, creed, or gender – the left’s rabid loathing of Donald Trump has overwhelmed any prudent instincts of their own maturity and responsibility. The whole nation is watching as the liberal leadership is flailing, failing, and derailing. As David Horowitz said of late, “The Democrat’s hatred of Trump is going to bring them down.”

But it’s right here where I need to dig a bit deeper. It’s easy to say that that the left doesn’t want America to succeed simply because the President under which all that success is taking place is Donald Trump. That is the conventional argument, but it doesn’t tell the bigger story.

I need to talk about the “why.” True believers – those who have placed their faith fully in Jesus Christ – are gaining simultaneous glimpses into the spiritual and physical dimensions with everything that’s going on. God is using the evolving conditions of life on planet earth to achieve His heavenly purposes, and there are few examples that illustrate this better than the left’s unhinged reactions to President Trump.

The political mayhem unfolding in front of us is – in most respects – spiritually-based, and I believe it has prophetic implications. It’s unpopular with the left to promote national pride, to secure borders, to enforce laws, to uphold the truth, to practice honor, and to exercise any common sense that finds its inspiration in God’s Word. If the left had their way, there’d be no borders, no religion, no genders, no personal responsibility, no morals, and no shred of Judeo-Christian values.

I’m in no mood to mince words here. In the name of this globalist agenda, Obama’s administration strategically choreographed the erosion of the strength and pride of America in order to reduce it to the vulnerabilities of a third world country. His was the most divisive, destructive, and deceitful administration in our country’s history.

It was easier for President Obama to bring this nation down than to raise other nations up. To achieve his goals, lawlessness was encouraged, unrest was supported, poverty was expanded, history was rebranded, allies were rejected, enemies were coddled, virtue was buried, and Christians were mocked. We are only starting to peel back and expose the eight years’ of Obama’s deceptive “hope and change.”

The passions of the far left for a one-world government will ultimately be realized in the post-rapture world of the Tribulation, but it’ll be a far cry from the utopia John Lennon crooned about in “Imagine.” It will indeed be a world without borders, without religion, and without possessions as we know these things to be today, but it won’t be a pretty place. Lennon sang about “living life in peace,” and he lulled his listeners into the notion that this will happen when all “the world will be as one,” but his ideals are godless at their core and their impact will be catastrophic when God sovereignly permits them to bloom.

It’s easy to “imagine” what’s coming. The sudden disappearance of so many “deplorables,” those “stick-in-the-mud Christians,” and so many “racist” patriots will be seized upon as a great gift by the globalists. Legitimate questions about what really happened to the millions who vanished in the Rapture are likely to fade as a celebratory mood – saturated in unparalleled spiritual deceit – takes over instead.

Those that remain will never have to worry that an “outsider” or a nationalist might be elected to the highest office in the land. They’ll realize that they won’t face any credible opposition to their New World Order (NWO) plans again. There won’t be any more pressure for them to secure borders, to encourage morality, or to believe the truth. They can finally ignore reason, logic, and common sense as they want to.

It’ll be like someone flipped the nitrous oxide switch as the principles of globalism will surge into the passing lane. People will clap each other on the back and clink their glasses as they sense their long-awaited goals are within reach. “Peace and security” is finally coming (1 Thess. 5:3).

Not so fast.

Then sudden destruction will come upon them,” the Bible continues. There will be no escape from the horror and no alternative to the devastation. The ideals of the globalists will be shattered, and their utopia will come crashing down. God has ordained a time of reckoning for the globalists, and they will suffer the consequences of getting exactly what they wished for.

While smatterings of support for globalism exist in various places, the far left seems to represent the leading edge of those that want to plunge over the precipice and into the chaos of the post-Rapture world. Today, the socialists and progressives are screaming for a political climate that will ultimately introduce great horror. They don’t see it that way, and so they scowl, they rage, they riot, they plot, they lie – and unfortunately, they convince more and more people of their deception each day.

The world I live in has changed a lot in the past ten years. It’s hard for me to imagine we can continue on a similar course for ten more. Frank depravities are already at fever pitch, and reason has abandoned the premises.

Be all that as it may, God has a perfect plan and nothing is outside His control. We can rest assured in the wonderful promise that, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” (Isaiah 26:3).

A MESSAGE OF HOPE FROM DR. JACK VAN IMPE – THE TIME OF JACOB’S TROUBLE

THE TIME OF JACOB’S TROUBLE

jerusalem-1987869__480-1

For nearly two thousand years we have been living in a parenthesis, a prophetic interval, a time “in between.” Daniel’s prophecy in the vision of the seventy weeks called for a period of 490 years when God would deal especially with Israel. When Christ offered Himself as the Prince of Israel, 483 years, or 69 weeks of years, had been fulfilled. When He was rejected and crucified the prophetic clock stopped, not to begin again until the Jews were back in their land and the parenthetical period had ended. During this prophetic interval, sometimes known as the Church Age, both Jews and Gentiles who are born again through faith in Christ become part of the body of Christ or the bride of Christ. The signal that the “in between” time has ended will be the removal of the church (the bride of Christ) from the earth. This great event is described in a number of Bible portions. One of the clearest is 1 Thessalonians 4:13 –18:

But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words

The event then that ends the Church Age and ushers in the seventieth week of Daniel’s prophecy is the return of Christ for His church. This coming of Christ in the air is known as the Rapture of the church; it involves the resurrection of the Christian dead as well as the exit from earth of all believers living at that time.

With the removal of the church, earth plunges into its most awful hour. Of this time Jesus said, “For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be” (Matthew 24:21). He was speaking of the seven-year period known as the Tribulation, or the Time of Jacob’s Trouble, so named because of Jeremiah’s prophecy: “Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble…” (Jeremiah 30:7).

Some believe the church will remain on earth for the Tribulation. There are a number of reasons for rejecting this conclusion.

The return of Christ for His church is a sign less and always imminent event. Even the New Testament writers expected the Lord’s return at any moment: “For our conversation [citizenship] is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ” (Philippians 3:20).

All signs of the Lord’s return have to do with the coming of Christ to set up His Kingdom. They are only indicators of the approaching Rapture because that event precedes the establishment of Christ’s kingdom by seven years. The moment the Tribulation begins, however, a timetable will be evident. Date-setting will be conclusive. During the Tribulation, Christ’s return will no longer be imminent. Therefore, the Rapture of the church must precede the Time of Jacob’s Trouble.

The Tribulation will be a time of wrath: “For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?” (Revelation 6:17). And the church is not to be the recipient of wrath. In assuring the Thessalonian Christians that they would not go through the Tribulation, Paul explained: “For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Thessalonians. 5:9).

Wicked as it is, the world is not quite ready for the Tribulation and the Antichrist. The church is not all it ought to be, but the world is better because the church is here. Sin is rampant, but it would be far worse without the presence of the church and its hindering influence to evil: “For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let [hinder], until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed…” (2 Thessalonians 2:7,8).

The Holy Spirit, working through Christians, holds back the tide of evil sweeping the world. When His influence in this manner is removed at the Rapture, the world will be ready for the Antichrist and the Tribulation.

The church has three heavenly appointments during the earthly Tribulation.

First, Christians cannot be on earth during the Tribulation because they have important business elsewhere. When the Lord returns for His church, it will be time for the judgment seat of Christ: “And behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be” (Revelation 22:12).

Second, Christians who are living at the time of Christ’s return must have time in the mansions prepared by Jesus as described in John 14:1 — 3. The only time available for the fulfillment of this promise before the Millennium is during the Tribulation.

Third, the marriage supper of the Lamb will take place in heaven during the end of the Tribulation period, according to Revelation 19:9, and the bride of Christ must attend. Following this joyful occasion, those who belong to Christ will return with Him as He comes to set up His kingdom. Since believers must come from heaven to earth at the end of the Tribulation, it is clear that the Rapture must precede that time of trouble.

Finally, it must be remembered that the Tribulation is especially related to Israel. Once this truth is established, all confusion about the time of the Rapture disappears. The return of Christ for His church marks the end of the Church Age, the parenthetical period, and begins the Time of Jacob’s Trouble.

What is the Time of Jacob’s Trouble? Let Daniel describe it: “…there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time…” (Daniel 12:1).

This unprecedented period of tribulation is not to be confused with daily tribulations which all of God’s people pass through. Jesus said: “…In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).

Paul had learned to glory in tribulations: “…we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience” (Romans 5:3).

These heartaches, problems, and tribulations are different from the Tribulation. This seven-year period is one of immense suffering for the entire world. It is an era of unthinkable trouble. Nothing in history can be compared to it, nor will there ever be anything equal to it in the future. Chapters 6, 8, 9, 15, and 16 of Revelation describe the Time of Jacob’s Trouble under the headings of seven seals, seven trumpets, and seven vials. Next week we will look at the panorama of human pain that will be experienced by the inhabitants of the earth during the Tribulation.

The Mystery Of The Sixth Seal

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

This article is not necessarily the viewpoint of the BloggingHounds.com

Preface

This article offers a bit of what I call unconventional eschatology. Because the seals seem to be such a mystery, I’ve been asking the Lord for insight about them and want to present the results of a prayerful study. I don’t share this as a teaching, but as something to consider as you study prophecy yourself and seek our heavenly Father for wisdom in these last days. I am not dogmatic about these findings and remain soft, humble, and open to correction by the Holy Spirit.

TL;DR

I believe the seven-year “tribulation age” begins with the trumpets. The seals are not part of Daniel’s 70th week and Jesus has been opening them for the last 2000 years. In my humble understanding, the “dead in Christ rise first” (1 Thess. 4:16) happens at the completion of the 5th seal. “We who are alive and remain” (1 Thess. 4:17) will occur in the 6th seal.

I also want to mention that Gary and Jeff hold to the traditional dispensational view where the seals are opened after the rapture. What I present here is a pre-tribulational alternative to the traditional view, and I believe the fifth seal has already been opened.

The book of Revelation describes a series of seals, trumpets, and bowls that hold current events, plagues of warning, and the wrath of God.

I’ve come to understand that the seals described in Revelation 6 & 7 are pre-trib; i.e., before the beginning of Daniel’s 70th week. The seals are not judgments. There is “tribulation” during the seals—tribulation as in trouble and trial and heartache and suffering (see John 16:33). But I believe Jesus has been opening the seals ever since he ascended to the throne and that the first five have already been opened. My position is that we are, right now, in the 5th seal. Here is why.

The revelation that Jesus gave to the Apostle John shows us that after Jesus ascended to His Father (Acts 1:9-11), He took the scroll (Rev. 5:5-7) and began opening the seals (Rev. 6:1). Notice that Jesus Himself is opening the seals, which is different than the later judgments, where angels are actively blowing trumpets or pouring out bowls of wrath.

The scroll contains judgments (and / or legal matters), but the seals are simply holding the scroll closed.

“Indeed the hour is coming, yes, has now come, that you will be scattered, each to his own, and will leave Me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me. These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:32-33)

“And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it. So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it. But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed [conquered; overcome] to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.” (Rev. 5:3-5)

Prevailing is what made Him worthy to take and open the scroll. This is something that only Christ could do. What is something only Christ has done? He alone tasted death for all men, the just for the unjust (1 Pet. 3:18), and conquered it.

Seals 1-5 are all things that Jesus has already overcome.

Not all of the seals are destructive, so we cannot think of them as tribulation or judgments. Seal 5 is about comfort. Seal 7 is about silence in heaven, an atonement ritual, and the 7 angels preparing to sound.

Moreover, I do not believe that Seal 1 is the antichrist. While it could be a spirit of deception, there is perhaps another conclusion.

Consider:

“And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.” (Rev. 6:1)

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Rom. 8:35-39)

We are more than conquerors.

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” (Rev. 12:11)

“He who overcomes!”

Please read Revelation chapters 2 & 3 and see all of Jesus’ promises to “him who overcomes.”

“I die daily.”—Paul.

I realize the first seal could apply to deception & false christs, but knowing that not all of the seals contain what Jesus described in John 16:33 as “in the world you will have tribulation,” it’s very possible that Seal 1 is associated with the saints. Just as Jesus overcame the world, so we too, with Him, can overcome. And each of the first five seals are associated with the very things Paul said that we are more than conquerors in—tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril, sword, death, and more—through Him that loved us.

The first five seals, the Olivet discourse, and where we are now…

There is a fascinating parallel to the first five seals and Jesus’ conversation with his disciples about the years leading up to His 2nd coming. There are nearly two thousand of them, and the rapture happens before the last seven.

Take a look:

“But the end is not yet…”

1st seal: The royal conqueror; Rev. 6:1-2
Jesus: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.” Matt. 24:4-5

2nd seal: Great conflict on earth; Rev. 6:3-4
Jesus: “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.” Matt. 24:6

“The beginning of sorrows…”

3rd seal: Scarcity & economic distress; Rev. 6:5-6
Jesus: “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.” Matt. 24:7-8

4th seal: Widespread death; Rev. 6:7-8
Jesus: “…And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.” Matt. 24:7

Where I believe we are right now:

5th seal: Cry of the martyrs: Rev. 6:9-11
Jesus: “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation [John 16:33 tribulation] and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.” Matt. 24:9

The things happening in seals 1-5 are not new events.

Almost all of these things have been happening in the world since before Jesus ascended to His throne. The volume and magnitude of them has increased, but none of it is new. Famines, pestilences, death, earthquakes, war…these are not new events.

Out of all of these distresses, Christian persecution is the newest, and it started with the stoning of Stephen nearly 2000 years ago.

What has not yet happened in the seals is that the martyrs are given white robes & told to rest for a little while.

And he said, “Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A basket of summer fruit. Then said the Lord unto me, The end is come upon my people of Israel; I will not again pass by them any more.” (Amos 8:2)

“I will not again pass by them anymore.” This is the shift in dispensation where God turns His attention back to Israel (Micah 5:3Romans 11:25) and I believe Seal 5 concludes & Seal 6 opens. As mentioned, I believe we are currently in the 5th seal. I also believe that the harpazo could begin in the 5th seal. Consider the following:

“When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. And they cried with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” Then a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed.” (Rev. 6:9-11)

White robes are given to bodies. In the 5th seal, the souls under the altar receive white robes which means they must also receive bodies. Later, in the following seal, we see the multitude wearing their white robes already in heaven. We know from Paul that the dead in Christ rise first (1 Thess. 4:16), and we who are alive & remain meet them and Jesus in the air (1 Thess. 4:17).

I submit that, in the fifth seal, the souls under the altar are joined with their bodies (& thus given white robes). This means a rapture! First the dead in Christ, followed quickly by the sixth seal and “we who are alive & remain…”

The mystery of the sixth seal

6th seal: The shaking of heaven & earth; Rev. 6:12-17

“I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood. And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind. Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place. And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?” Rev. 6:12-17

I believe the 6th seal describes a catastrophic cosmic & earthly event (quite possibly the Ezekiel 38 war; please read it and note its similarities with the sixth seal) that brings the age of grace to a close and ushers in the time of Jacob’s Trouble. At this time, as promised in John 14:1-31 Cor. 15:50-52, and 1 Thess. 4:17, Jesus receives his alive & remaining Body in the air and takes us to always be with him.

“And then the end will come…”

This further illuminates the conversation between Jesus and His disciples. As we saw above, after he tells them that some will be martyred for His name’s sake (Matt. 24:9), the next thing to expect is:

“AND THEN many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” Matt. 24:10-14

Why “…and then…offended?”
Why (then) will lawlessness abound?
Why (then) will false prophets arise and deceive many?

There must be a cataclysmic shift. Something huge has to happen here. Offenses, betrayals, false prophets, lawlessness, and hatred of others have occurred since the fall of man. What is different now? What is significant about this particular time, and what distinguishes it from all the thousands of years prior to this?

The answer is found in 2 Thessalonians 2.

“And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” (2 Thess. 2:6-12)

“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.” Matt. 5:14

Right now Jesus, the light of the world, indwells believers. Light keeps the darkness away. With the Church out of the earth, the light of the world will go out. The Holy Spirit will still be in the world, but I believe He will operate as He did in the Old Testament, Law & Prophet days. Once the restrainer is gone, and the influence of the Holy Spirit is removed, indeed: lawlessness and deception will abound. Once the Church is caught up to God, many who thought they were the church will not be included.

“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked—” (Rev. 3:15-17)

“Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.” John 6:28-29

And they will be offended: offended because they were left behind. These are the Christian-in-name-only folks who may have a form of godliness, but deny its power (2 Tim. 3:1-7). They will see what happened and will be offended that they were not included in the rapture, and with the restraining work of the Holy Spirit through the Church out of the way, darkness will again cover the earth.

“Out of” tribulation, not “through” it

Before continuing on to the 7th and final seal, two new events take place. John says, “After these things…” which confirms a sequence of events:

  • • First, the 144k of the twelve tribes of Israel are sealed with the seal of God on their foreheads. (Rev. 7:1-8) Also consider Micah 5:3.
  • • Second,  John sees something new: a great and innumerable multitude clothed in white robes standing before the Lamb (Jesus). (Rev. 7:9-10)

A heavenly elder tells John,

“These are the ones who come out of [rather than through] the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them. They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.” (Rev. 7:14-17)

Some believe this multitude is made of tribulation saints, or those who come to faith during Daniel’s 70th week. Perhaps they are. However, this vast multitude, great and innumerable which no one could number, would be a perfect representation of 2000-years-worth of “dead in Christ & we who are alive and remain” believers… a congregation that is truly impossible to count. I believe it is the faithful Church who is caught up to God and his throne before Daniel’s 70th week begins—those whom the dragon tried to devour, but which “overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” (Rev. 12:11)

Consider these points:

  • • We know that the current world population is almost 7.6 billion. This is numbered.
  • • After the rapture, this population will be drastically reduced.
  • • During Daniel’s 70th week, the numbers of those who come to faith will be even less.
  • • Those who come to faith after the rapture appear after the 2nd Coming (Rev. 20:4), which follows the trumpets & the bowls, and there is a good case that they will be judged by the saints.
  • • Remember, when this innumerable multitude appears, we are still pre-trib in the sixth seal.

Note that in the book of Revelation, there are two saved groups from two separate dispensations.

The first, believers from the dispensation of grace: the body of Christ which makes no distinction between Gentile or Jew. They sing the song of salvation (Rev. 7:1012:10) and have overcome the enemy by the blood of the Lamb & word of their testimony (Rom. 10:9-10Rev. 12:11). This is the innumerable multitude which appears during the sixth seal.

The second group are the tribulation saints. They keep the commandments of God & the faith of Jesus (Rev. 12:1714:12). They sing the song of Moses and the song of the Lamb (Rev. 15:2-4).

This second group is not part of the body of Christ. They do not exist until after the catching away of the Church. They are people from the dispensation of time that features two witnesses (Rev. 11:1-12) and the angelic everlasting gospel (Rev. 14:6-7). This happens during the first 3.5 years of Daniel’s 70th week, which contain the trumpets.

The 7th seal & silence in heaven

The seventh seal is a mysterious seal. It seems to indicate a ritual (described in Exodus 30 and Leviticus 16) and a transition.

“When He opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and to them were given seven trumpets. Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel’s hand. Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it to the earth. And there were noises, thunderings, lightnings, and an earthquake. So the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.” Rev. 8:1-6

Here we have silence in heaven which precedes the incense that is offered with all the prayers of the saints. John Barnett, from Discover the Book Ministries, writes that this ceremony takes about half an hour. He also suggests that the silence is because God stops everything to listen!

God Stops Everything to Listen—The silence in Heaven may well be a precious insight into how vital our prayers are to God. Everything halts before the Throne as the prayers of His saints arise before our Almighty God. If everything else halts and God breathes in the sweet fragrance of the devoted prayers we offer, doesn’t that make us want to pray, and pray, and pray: without ceasing, as Paul exhorts us?—John Barnett

Once the fire is thrown to earth, the seven angels prepare to sound the trumpets for the judgments. And this is when I believe Daniel’s 70th week begins.

So, Beloved, PRAY.

Regardless of where we are in the timeline, the truth is: we know we are in the last days. Many of us can sense the chill of coming darkness. Dear saints, the Day is at hand! We are called to watch and pray. To watch & pray is part of our warfare.

“…Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.” (Eph. 6:10-18)

The power is the blood.

We do not have to agree on secondary issues. We do not need to all interpret eschatology the same way. But more than ever, there is urgency to believe and to proclaim the gospel. Right now, the Holy Spirit indwells the body of Christ on earth. You are the light of the world! (Matt. 5:14) When the Church is taken away, the door to this dispensation of grace will close.

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” (Rom. 1:16)

This is the gospel: the death (shedding of blood), burial and resurrection of Jesus: “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” (1 Cor. 15:1-4)

Among those who will not be part of the rapture are those who have the form of godliness but deny the power thereof.

The power is the blood of Jesus, because without the shedding of blood there is no remission, or forgiveness, of sin. (Heb. 9:22) His blood makes atonement for us, or at-ONE-ment. Because of Jesus, we are reconciled to God. Through Yeshua, our sin no longer separates us from His holiness and we have peace with God. (Rom. 5:1-11)

Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. (Rom. 5:9)

Nothing else saves us. Repentance from sin does not save us. Living a holy life does not save us. Only belief in the finished work of Jesus saves us! Once we are saved, we are sealed by the Holy Spirit who guides us, leads us and convicts us to repent, walk in obedience and holiness, and to grow in our faith so we can do good in our lives. (Eph. 2:8-10Eph. 1:13-141 Pet. 1:5).

If you have not yet put your trust solely in the blood of Jesus, I urge you to do so now. Trust that He, and He alone, saves you!

If you already believe, pray always in the Spirit and pray for all the saints and pray for those who will become saints. Like never before, we must become a people of prayer.

Conclusion

Here is a brief overview of how I see events unfold:

  • Pre-trib: first 5 seals
  • Pre-trib/beginning trib: harpazo (the catching away of the Church at the last trump, the trumpet of God & the Lord gathers his people), 6th & 7th seals, the sealing of the 144k, the revealing of the lawless one (the man of sin in 2 Thess. 2:3)
  • First half: seven trumpet judgments, 2 witnesses, antichrist rises in power
  • Mid-point: the abomination of desolation
  • Last half: seven bowl judgments, Jews fleeing (Matt. 24:15-22), satan indwells antichrist (the son of perdition in 2 Thess. 2:3-4)
  • Very end: 2nd Coming & angels gather the tares first (Matt. 13:30Matt. 24:29-31), Armageddon
  • Millennial kingdom / new heavens & new earth

In closing, I believe that we are currently experiencing the 5th seal. Believers are being martyred like never before across the globe. I believe the dead in Christ rise at the end of the 5th seal, and “we who are a live & remain” will be removed from the earth at the 6th seal. And with the trumpet judgments, the 7-year time of Jacob’s Trouble will begin.

Volcanoes awakening in ‘Ring of Fire’

‘Ring of Fire’ volcanos remind Asia of seismic peril

Joel 2:30-31 – “And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: Blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord.

ashes-1867440_1280-1280x640

The horseshoe-shaped string of active volcanos bounding the Pacific Ocean has lived up to its “Ring of Fire” name in the past month, sparking mass evacuations in Indonesia and Vanuatu and now setting parts of southwestern Japan on edge. The 450 or so volcanos that make up the “Ring of Fire” are an outline of where the massive Pacific Plate is grinding against other plates that form the Earth’s crust, creating a 40,000-kilometer (25,000-mile) -long zone prone to frequent earthquakes and eruptions.

JAPAN

The Shinmoedake volcano in southwestern Japan started erupting Wednesday for the first time in about six years. According to Japanese broadcaster TBS, an ash plume rose 1,700 meters (5,580 feet) from the crater Thursday and ash fell on cities and towns in Miyazaki prefecture. Videos showed students wearing helmets and masks on their way to an elementary school at the foot of Shinmoedake. The Japan Meteorological Agency is warning that hot ash and gas clouds known as pyroclastic flows could reach 2 kilometers (1 mile) from the crater. It raised the volcanic alert level from 2 to 3 on a scale of 5. Level 3 warns people to not approach the volcano.

BALI

More than 140,000 people fled Mount Agung on the Indonesian island of Bali after its alert status was raised to the highest level on Sept. 22. Hundreds of tremors daily from the mountain indicate magma is rising inside it, prompting authorities to warn a powerful eruption is possible. The volcano spewed lava and deadly fast-moving clouds of boiling hot ash, gas and rocks when it last erupted in 1963, killing more than 1,100 people. A new eruption is likely to kill fewer people because officials have imposed a large no-go zone around the crater but it could paralyze tourism, which many Balinese rely on for their livelihoods. Indonesia has more than one tenth of the world’s active volcanos and another two are currently erupting. Sinabung in northern Sumatra is shooting plumes of ash high into the atmosphere nearly daily and Dukono in the Maluku island chain is also periodically erupting.

VANUATU

The entire population of a Pacific island was evacuated in the space of a few days in late September and early October to escape the belching Manaro volcano. The 11,000 residents of Ambae island were moved by every boat available to other islands in Vanuatu, a Pacific archipelago nation, where they’re living in schools, churches and tents. Officials have since downgraded the volcano’s danger level but say the population must wait at least two more weeks to return. The island’s water supply and crops have been affected by volcanic ash and acid rain but most villages were spared major damage. Previous eruptions of the volcano have lasted a month to six weeks. ‘Summoning the Demon,’ ‘Tower of Babel’: Debate Over AI God Heating Up

1041809723

While some Silicon Valley technologists and maverick Christians embrace former Google and Uber engineer Anthony Levandowski’s idea to create a god based on artificial intelligence to make human society better, many scientific experts and politicians are scared by the prospect of worshiping a “god bot.”

Anton Skripunov (RIA Novosti) — Anthony Levandowski has set up a religious nonprofit organization called Way of the Future and devoted to the worship of artificial intelligence (AI).

“Our mission is to develop and promote the realization of a Godhead based on artificial intelligence and through understanding and worship of the Godhead contribute to the betterment of society,” the organization’s founding documents say.

Support for AI

The new god is seen by US media as an almighty bot that will cater to all of its adherents’ wishes. What will make it different from biblical God, however, is that it will be genuinely kind and will not punish mortals.

Speaking about Levandowski’s idea, Pastor Christopher Benek,a member of the Christian Transhumanist Association, said that “I totally think that AI can participate in Christ’s redemptive purposes,” as quoted by the Guardian, by ensuring it is imbued with Christian values.

The Transhumanist Christians espouse the idea that people can and should use science and technology to make the world better.

Levandowski’s idea looks appealing to some of his Silicon Valley colleagues who believe that 25 years from now AI will catch up with human intelligence, and 50 years later will leave it behind.

“In the beginning all we had was just chat bots,” Facebook product manager Kemal El Moujahid wrote.

What they like most in Levandowski’s concept is that the new deity will be created by man. US media point to a notable religious drive now evident in Silicon Valley.

“We’re Summoning the Demon”

Not everyone in Silicon Valley is happy about the idea of a digital god though, above all Tesla CEO and Space X founder Elon Musk, who warns about the dangers of AI.

He and many other inventors and scientific experts argue that a “Terminator scenario” where machines rise against humans and unleash war is a real possibility.

“With artificial intelligence we’re summoning the demon,” Musk warned three years ago.

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin then added to the debate by saying that even though artificial intellect holds the future for Russia and the whole world, it is also fraught with unpredictable threats.

“Whoever becomes the leader in this sphere will become the ruler of the world,” Putin said during an open lesson with students on September 1, the start of the school year in Russia.

However, the president said he would not like to see anyone “monopolize” the field.

Elon Musk responded to this by warning that a race toward “superiority” between countries over artificial intelligence could be the most likely cause of World War III.

Meanwhile, the Protestant clergy have doubts about artificial intelligence’s ability to reach the heights of divinity, with Bishop Konstantin Bendas, the second in charge of Russia’s Evangelist Church, arguing that technological achievements are just an instrument of good or evil.

“Inventions do not bring people closer to God or take them away from Him. They do not make us better,” Bishop Bendas emphasized.

He compared the idea of creating a digital god to the biblical story about the Tower of Babel, which people ventured to erect to reach heaven, only to end up speaking different languages.

With the debate over Anthony Levandowski’s idea heating up, Silicon Valley could well repeat the fate of the biblical tower that was never built. (Click to Site)

Some Doubted

…but some doubted.  Three little words that stand out to me like a piece of pepper stuck in someone’s tooth.  The phrase is in Matthew 28:17When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.

jesus2bascention

Let’s put this in context.  It is the last chapter of Matthew after the disciples had witnessed Jesus’ life, miracles, ministry, death, and resurrection.  There, a resurrected Jesus stands before them and when the SAW him they worshiped him, but some still doubted.

What does that passage tell us about human nature?  It tells us many things, mainly that in spite of seeing all of the great events in Jesus’ life, the disciples still doubted.  Why do you think that is?  I think it is because they did not at that time have the Holy Spirit within them.

Now it would be easy to stand in judgment of the disciples at this point.  After all, they were THERE.  They saw him, they touched him, they ate with him and saw him die and rise again.  Surely, had we been in their shoes we would not have doubted.  I would not be so certain myself.

How many people do you know of that have had awesome miracles in their lives that they KNEW were from God, only to claim after the excitement wears off that it was just fate or circumstance or the wisdom of the doctors that saved them?  How many times in your own life has the Lord delivered you and afterward you doubted that it was His divine intervention?

The Holy Spirit is what divides the New Testament Christians from the Old Testament Jews and further the Tribulation and Millenial believers.  Through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, we are able to have the Spirit of God inside us at all times.  During the Old Testament times, the Spirit of the Lord would come upon people for a period, but that was temporary and He did not indwell the believer.  That is the only thing that sets us apart.  That is why those who profess faith in Christ but have never asked Him into their lives struggle.  The ministry of the Holy Spirit is one of the most under-appreciated movements in our modern day churches.

Without the Holy Spirit, we do not even have faith in the things we can see and touch.  That is why people can go to church their whole lives and know in their mind who Jesus is but never make the commitment to let Him into their hearts.  I think that is why so many professing Christians do not bear any fruit.

Who are they?  Are you one?  Is the person sitting next to you in church one?  They are Christians in name only.  They come as far as they can in the Christian walk without asking the Holy Spirit to come into their lives.  They have accepted the kernel of doubt in their own hearts as part of everyone’s faith.  They do not believe when others profess to not have any doubts about their faith, because they themselves do not know the truth.

You can go to many churches and never hear a word about the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit within us is the perfecter of our faith.  He convicts our conscience.  He is the guiding force that keeps all of us in line and living for God and not ourselves.

Only through the Holy Spirit are we able to have communion with God and worship Jesus our Savior.  This Age of Grace ends with the Rapture of the Church, those left behind will never have the opportunity to receive this blessing.  There will be many Left Behind, that never truly became Christians but this post is to encourage you today, we are believers.  We are Watchers.  We are Saved.

(Note – this post was originally written in 2003, but the Helper prompted me to publish this old work again today.  I have never heard preaching on it. It remains one of my favorite pieces and one I shared with my beloved Bible Teacher Father on his deathbed.  I will never forget the look of pride he had in his eyes as I showed him the Scripture and opened his heart to the revelation the Lord had given me.  Peace and Love, my Friends.)
