Signs of the Coming of Christ

David Wilkerson (1931-2011)April 11, 2019

“For when they say, ‘Peace and safety!’ then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief” (1 Thessalonians 5:3-4).

Right now, the world is in such turmoil that people are asking, “Is the world spinning out of control? Are we seeing the winding up of history?” We now understand what Jesus meant when he said: “There will be … distress of nations … men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken” (Luke 21:25-26).

When Jesus gave that warning, he added this statement: “Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near” (21:27-28).

All the terrifying things we see coming upon the earth right now have to do with the coming of Christ. Beyond all the gross darkness covering the earth, a cloud is being formed in heaven, and one day soon Christ is going to enter that cloud and reveal himself to the whole world. “When you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near” (21:31).

The Christians in Paul’s day wanted him to write about prophetic times and Paul responded that “the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God” (1 Thessalonians 4:16). He went on to further describe the event and then he said, “Therefore comfort one another with these words” (4:18).

Paul’s exhortation was meant to be an encouragement. Likewise, today, we are not to fret or be overly concerned over current events because we well know that it is all signaling the coming of the Lord Jesus to take away his people.

When Jesus said, “Look up” (Luke 21:28), he was telling us to keep our focus on him and his soon return! Truly, this is our wonderful hope! (Click to Source)

Pope Francis may be the Antichrist; he just fulfilled an important prophecy warned about in Revelations by signing “peace deal” with Islamic leader

02/26/2019 / By JD Heyes

For anyone who’s keeping score, 100 percent of the terrorist attacks that have occurred in the West for at least the past two decades have been committed by Islamic extremists.

Followers of Christ, Buddhists, Hindus, and Jews have not hijacked airplanes and flown them into buildings. They haven’t rented vans and mowed people over. They haven’t attacked restaurants with AK-47s or certain events with pipe bombs. Radicalized followers of the Islamic faith committed these acts.

And for good measure, radical Islamic groups like ISIS have taken over vast swaths of the Middle East, executing followers of other religions while mass murdering anyone else who refused to ascribe to their religious dogma.

So, it’s puzzling to Catholics and other followers of the Christian faith as to why Pope Francis has essentially, in their view, betrayed them by signing a pact that, Biblically speaking, amounts to the fulfillment of an  (Related: CounterThink with Mike Adams: are there possessed “Demoncrats” that walk among us?)‘end times’ prophecy.

According to the website Now the End Begins:

The pope and the grand imam of al-Azhar have signed a historic declaration of fraternity, calling for peace between nations, religions and races, in front of a global audience of religious leaders from Christianity, Islam, Judaism and other faiths. Pope Francis, the leader of the world’s Catholics, and Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb, the head of Sunni Islam’s most prestigious seat of learning, arrived at the ceremony in Abu Dhabi hand-in-hand in a symbol of interfaith brotherhood.

What could be bad about this? After all, shouldn’t followers of different religious faiths get along? Not all followers would agree.

Is this a sign the End Times are upon us?

While Christians forgive and their Bible teaches them to love even ‘thy enemies,’ Islam’s Koran does not teach a similar tolerance of other faiths. In fact, according to Robert Spencer’s book, “The Complete Infidel’s Guide to the Koran,” the Islamic holy book “incites hatred and violence and is anti-democratic, anti-freedom, and intolerant of any other ideology.”

The book “focuses on the decrees toward Jews and Christians, how they were viewed by Muhammad, what ‘the infidels’ have done wrong and what the Koran has in store for them,” adds a summary.

Now The End Begins notes that in 2015, Francis said something unusual for a Catholic leader in an address to the United Nations. In addressing the U.N.’s General Assembly, the pontiff said that he had come to them “in my own name” — odd since he is supposedly the Vicar of Christ and as such speaks to the world through the divine spirit, not that of a ‘mortal’ Man.

Now, the site continues, Francis has made a “peace covenant” with the leader of Sunni Islam. The document makes several references to the assemblage of the world’s various religions but no Bible verses are contained within it and there is no connection with the word “god” and Bible patriarchs like Moses, Abraham, and others.

Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb is today the most important man in Sunni Islam. As The Guardian reports, however, the signing of the document “was done in front of a global audience of religious leaders from Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and other faiths.”

Is this the beginning of a ‘one world religion’ some have asked? Clearly there was a concerted effort to ensure that all major faiths were represented at the ceremony in Abu Dhabi, but “over and over again,” Now The End Begins notes, “the word ‘God’ is used to simultaneously identify All and the God of Christianity.”

Also, the document “boldly declares that ‘the diversity of religions’ that we see in the world was ‘willed by God,’” the website continues.

The globalist elite has long sought the creation of a one-world religion because it would be a vehicle to unite the world’s people under a singular government.

Is the pope the Bible’s recognized “antiChrist” and did he just take us closer to the singular world religion prophesied in Revelations? (Click to Source)

2018: The Year In Review

2018

Greetings,

To the churches of God that are in the United States, Israel, the severed province of Judea and Samaria, and the uttermost parts of the earth; to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints together with all those who in every place call upon the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both their Lord and ours: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

For the commandments, ‘You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,’ and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.

2018 is past and 2019 lies ahead. In light of the fact that it has been given to us by God to see the next year here on earth and to further testify to the world of the grace we have received, I wanted to write to you all to remind you of what we’ve already seen and I also wanted to write to you straight from the heart on several topics that have burdened me deeply. The days are very, very few.

2018 in Review

We lived this past year with heightened expectation given all that happened in 2017—especially the literal, astronomical fulfillment of Revelation 12:1–2 on September 23rd—and the fact that Israel celebrated its 70th anniversary in May. In retrospect, many significant prophetic events occurred showing that even more was destined to happen in the lead up to the Church’s departure. Here is a brief rundown from 2018:

January:

Other countries follow suit to move their embassies to Jerusalem

42 Jews prayed and worshipped openly on the Temple Mount

Turkish forces finally enter Syria (now three of the five modern countries in Ezekiel 38 that come against Israel are in Syria) and this happened on a day of particular prophetic significance

The “Humanity Star” was launched

The Super-Blue-Blood Moon

February:

Dow crashes 666 points and then three days later U.S. markets suffer their worst single day crash in U.S. history

Israel launches largest airstrikes in Syria since 1982

Billy Graham passes away at the age of 99 (many people have had dreams of the rapture happening not long after his passing)

The Sanhedrin begins minting Third Temple coins, which bear the image of Trump as a modern-day Cyrus

March:

The Jewish State Bill finally passed a key Knesset committee vote

Aaronic priests carry out a Passover sacrifice at the foot of the Temple Mount

April:

U.S. launches mass air strikes on Damascus following a chemical attack that left 78 dead

The Israeli flag flies on the Temple Mount for the first time in 50 years, and it was raised by Chinese Christians, signaling that the gospel has now gone around the world

Israel hosts a 70-hour long celebration of its 70th anniversary (on the Hebrew calendar) along a 70-mile long stretch of Israel’s coast, in what was likely the largest celebration in the country’s history

May:

Iran launches missile attacks against Israel leading to two massive waves of airstrikes in retaliation

The U.S. embassy opens in Jerusalem on the 70th anniversary of Israel’s reestablishment as thousands storm the Gaza border

June:

President Erdogan of Turkey becomes dictator

Anthony Kennedy retires from SCOTUS (the deciding vote on social issues)

July:

The Jewish State Bill becomes permanent law, signaling the restoration of Israel’s covenanted identity

The world witnesses the longest blood moon of the 21st century

August:

A plausible explanation for the next piece of the Revelation 12 Sign revealed

September:

Russia announces move of S-300 batteries to Damascus

October:

A very literal astronomical fulfillment of Revelation 12:3–4 occurs

Conservative evangelical Bolsonaro wins election in Brazil promising to move the Brazilian embassy to Jerusalem

November:

Prosperity “prophets” proven wrong as Democrats sweep to power in Congress in historic U.S. midterms

Emmanuel Macron’s 10-nation military alliance in Europe goes online

December:

The Yellow-Vest Movement explodes in Europe as Macron goes into hiding

Aaronic priests, in conjunction with the Sanhedrin, dedicate the main Third Temple altar and offer the daily oblation upon it (per Exodus 29), but the altar and menorah fires kept mysteriously going out!

Finally, Trump announces a sudden and unexpected removal of all U.S. forces from Syria, leaving Russia, Turkey, and Iran; not only does this leave three of the five bad actors in Ezekiel 38 to their own devices, but can you see any prophetic hint in this news? You know, like a “trump” signaling a sudden and unexpected removal of the good guys from the battlefield, leaving Israel’s enemies free to attack?

Theoretical Timelines in Light of the Revelation 12 Sign

With 2018 behind us it feels like we’re entering the red zone, a period of roughly 2.5 years within which our Blessed Hope may come if all things are to be fulfilled (including Christ’s second coming) by Israel’s 80th birthday (2028; see Ps. 90:10). That may be far more than speculative conjecture if a solid biblical case can be made that the fig tree, is, in fact, a symbol of national Israel as I argue here. We should also keep in mind that there is scant biblical evidence one way or the other if a gap in time occurs between the rapture and the onset of Daniel’s 70th Week. We should always live with the expectation and understanding that the Tribulation is “Christmas” and the rapture is “Thanksgiving”. Since we’re already seeing so many Christmas decorations pointing to the nearness of the Tribulation, how much closer must we be to Thanksgiving?

There are now only six Tribulation timelines that make any sense to me in light of dispensationalism, the Revelation 12 Sign, the reestablishment of Israel, and all the myriad of signs we’ve seen in the past several years. And since I know God’s word is literal truth, there’s little doubt in my mind that all this longing and expectation and all these God-given signs are proof-positive that we will see Christ with our own eyes very soon. These are the last several years. You will see it. Your children will see it. The apostles and earliest Christians longed to see these days and we are the ones to see it. As we wait these final days, weeks, and months, I’m reminded that Peter, Paul, Priscilla and Aquila, Timothy and Titus, James and John, Lydia, Mary, Martha, and many others have waited a far longer time.

And in terms of prophetic years of 360-days each (a counting of time used in Genesis, Daniel, and Revelation) all of these timelines occur more than 2,000 years after the beginning of the Church Age circa 33 AD.

Here are what I consider to be the final timelines with a few reasons given for each. These are separated into “red zone” and “terminal zone”. We are now in the red zone and I believe the rapture will happen in this zone. That being said, if my understanding of “all these things fulfilled” or the length of a generation is off, then I would fully expect the rapture to occur in the terminal zone and no later.

RED ZONE

2019–2026

  • The Revelation 12 Sign was a two-year warning (about the length of time of the Bethlehem Star events in 3–2 BC).
  • There is little or no gap between the rapture and the 70th Week.
  • The Trump-Kushner peace plan is intricately connected with the final confirmation of the covenant in Daniel 9:27 (which must be strengthened for seven years after we’re gone).
  • Revelation 12:1–2 in 2017; Revelation 12:3–4 in 2018; Revelation 12:5 in 2019? One year between each?
  • The culmination of the Revelation 12:3–4 Sign in 2018 marked the roughly one-year warning rather than the Sign of the Woman.

2020–2027

  • A very nice and even range on the Gregorian calendar used by virtually all Gentiles.
  • Christ’s return would be in the 80th year of the Mandate on Palestine.

2021–2028

  • A possible seven years of plenty and seven years of famine template with 2014 marking the beginning phase (the first Blood Moon and global reemergence from the Great Recession).
  • The Revelation 12 Sign thus occurs in the middle of the seven years of plenty and the heavenly signs occur roughly 3.5 years before their actual fulfillment.
  • Christ returns in Israel’s 80th year, which might also be exactly 2,000 years from Christ’s declaration of Jubilee at the beginning of His ministry circa 28 AD.
  • 2028 is the last possible year for “all things” to be fulfilled within one biblically-defined generation of the fig tree branch becoming tender (the reemergence of national Israel).

TERMINAL ZONE

2023–2030

  • All of the events in Revelation 12 and the labor pains described in the Olivet Discourse would be fulfilled within 80 years of Israel’s reestablishment, but not the second coming.
  • The Tribulation would begin around Israel’s 75th anniversary, an “average” generation between 70 and 80 years, and the age at which Abraham was when he departed from Haran to Canaan.
  • While I don’t personally find the evidence compelling, some have argued that 30 AD was a plausible year for the crucifixion, thus 2030 would be exactly 2,000 solar years later.

2024–2031

  • The second seven years of plenty and seven years of famine template. 2017 and the Revelation 12Sign would have then demarcated the beginning of the seven years of plenty and served as a seven year warning.
  • The Great American Eclipse: Part II, which traverses the entire country again from the opposite angle. The two historic eclipses across the head Gentile nation highlight both the seven years of plenty, but also the subsequent judgment on all nations.
  • Trump/Pence (“Trumpets”) was inaugurated in January 2017, who brings God-given reprieve to the Church and world economy for a time (thus another reason 2017 could have been the beginning of seven years of plenty).
  • 31 AD is seen by some as the date of the crucifixion.

2025/26–2032/33 “The Terminal Timeline”

  • The last possible range in my view (now only six or seven years away!)
  • 32 and 33 AD were the likeliest years of the crucifixion (33 if you favor a Friday crucifixion or 32 a Wednesday or Thursday). Thus one of those years will likely be the true 2,000 year delineator of the Church Age.
  • It will begin when Israel is 77 or 78 years old (within a biblical generation) and conclude when Israel is 84 or 85.
  • The Revelation 12 Sign may have been a seven-year warning of the rapture if there is a one or two year gap between the rapture and the Tribulation; or perhaps a more general mega-sign that the Day of the LORD is at hand and we’re truly living in the final few years.

Rightly Dividing (Again)

I wanted to do a full follow-up on Stephanie’s excellent article on “Rightly Dividing,” but as the time came to write it I instead felt a different conviction: not just to argue a side, but to discuss the Christian community’s need to exemplify brotherly love and faithful devotion.

Is this topic important? Yes, if the gospel itself is called into question, but No, if all sides can properly define the gospel. For the most part (outside of the Hebrew Roots Movement within the prophecy community) both sides seem to be in agreement:

1. Christ died for our sins.

2. He rose again.

3. If we have genuine faith in Him, even without works, we will be saved.

We need, above all else, to love one another and extend fellowship even when views don’t perfectly align.  If we can’t do that then what good is our faith?  How will the world know who we are?

By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.

No one is converted by wise words, perfect doctrine, or persuasive speech.  People are moved to faith when they see Christians living lovingly and authentically, testifying openly of their brokenness, and pursuing the lost with humility.

But on the topic at hand, I do want to express a few thoughts and concerns I have with some of those who have sided with Mid- or Post-Acts dispensationalism with militancy against their brothers and sisters in Christ who disagree:

1. Both sides desire to “rightly divide,” which is why labels can do more harm than good. It isn’t that those who disagree with E.W. Bullinger’s unique views on dispensationalism want to muddy the waters and not rightly divide. Rather, we believe he wrongly divided in some particular ways, so we believe “rightly dividing” necessarily leads to traditional or classical dispensationalism. And a key division we make that differs from ultra-dispensationalism is that the Church began on Pentecost, not Mid- or Post-Acts.

2. Works were never the basis for salvation in a previous dispensation nor will they be the basis in the future. This is a major point I want to raise. You can argue both ways until you are blue in the face, but sola fide is a central theme found in Genesis all the way through Revelation. From Abraham whose faith was counted as righteousness, to David who broke the Law and did not pay its due penalty (death)—the multiple death-deserving lawbreaker whom God established an everlasting covenant with!; from righteous Abel who brought an acceptable blood sacrifice, to the High Priest Joshua whom God clothed in His own righteousness in Zechariah 3; and from the prostitute Rahab and the Gentile Namaan to the Prophet Habakkuk whose declaration “the just shall live by his faith” formed the very basis of Paul’s explanation of salvation through faith alone in Romans.

Why was the Law given and why the focus on works in the Old Testament and the gospels? Here is the answer:

Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.

  • The Law only speaks to those under it.  It is holy and good and true, but we are not under it (Rom. 3:316:14).
  • It makes the whole world accountable to God, because its stringent requirements are such that not even one person will be declared righteous by obeying it.
  • The Law makes us conscious of our sin.

To say that works are the basis of salvation in a previous dispensation or in a future dispensation is in effect to state that only Church Age Christians will be saved, because the Bible is repeatedly and emphatically clear that no one has or ever will be justified by works.  All are fallen.  None are good.  No one does right.  No one seeks God.

To say that those in the Old Testament (or those in the Tribulation or in the Millennial Kingdom) will be saved by works is to say that their situation is entirely, completely, unalterably hopeless.  It’s shutting the door of salvation in their face.  No!  Salvation has only ever been on the basis of grace via the atoning sacrifice of God’s Son.  See the gospel in Genesis 3–4 and Isaiah 53 in particular.

The gospel was declared to Adam and Eve beforehand in Genesis 3:15–16.  A blood sacrifice—the first death in creation—provided a sufficient covering for our first parents (Gen. 3:21).  This was the declaration of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world:

And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Why does Christ appear as a Lamb-as-if-slain in Revelation?  Because He was the Lamb slain in Genesis.  And in Genesis Adam and Eve lost their access to the Tree of Life, but in Revelation 22 we regain it.  And right in the middle of this Genesis to Revelation story is the incarnate Christ on the cross, who bore all of our sins in His body on the tree (1 Pt. 2:24; there’s a little Peter for you, fyi!).

I’m saved because Christ died and rose again.

You’re saved because Christ died and rose again.

And Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; Rahab and Namaan; King Darius and King Nebuchadnezzar; all of these, if any, will be saved only because Christ died and rose again.

Again, why was the Law given?

We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

After the Fall in the Garden, no one would seek God.  No one would listen.  Everyone turned to his own way and in the end, our ways can only ever lead to death.  So the Law was given to condemn us.  Yes, you heard that correctly.  It finally made us realize that we are each accountable to God for our thoughts and behaviors and if we approach Him with labor He will accept nothing less than perfection.  It finally made us see that we need Him and this life and what our eyes see are not all there is.  We must turn back, repent (metanoia; which means to change your mindconvert), and place our faith in Him.  And only then can imperfect creatures such as we are become acceptable to a perfect God.

So regarding the Law: believe it, obey it, teach it.  It’s true.  But do not, under any circumstances, look to it as the path to salvation.  That’s not what it is and that’s not why it was given.

Side note: I’ve touched on this many times before, but for those who argue that Acts 2 was not the initiation of the Church because of Peter’s call to repentance, I would say that you misunderstand what repentance is.  The biblical word behind “repent” is contextual-based and has nothing to do with turning from sin or stopping sin.  God can repent (as the LXX Old Testament repeatedly shows us!).  Repentance and faith are two sides of the same coin.  To repent is simply to change your mind.  In other words, convert from unbelief to belief.  And when you repent unto Christ your sins are forgiven.  See here.

3. One of the consequences of Bullingerism for some is that it closes their eyes to the fact that the Old Testament is Messianic in nature (i.e. Christ-centric) and even prophetic of Christ’s body, the Church, in places.  It also closes us off from many of the key points Christ made in the gospels and the lessons of grace in the synoptics and John.

Part of the problem is in how some ultra-dispensationalists understand musterion, that is, the mysteries of God.  For Paul declares both the gospel and the rapture to be newly-revealed mysteries, but that does not mean they were absent from God’s word only until Paul wrote his epistles.  To the contrary, a musterion is a secret, mystic, or hidden thing, akin to something from a vision that is fleshed out or fully revealed later—to first century ears, “secret knowledge” that those with special spiritual insight could grasp.  Paul shows that mysteries first described in the Scriptures he used (i.e. the Old Testament) were now fully revealed in Christ.

For instance, you may have heard that because 1 Corinthians 15 reveals the rapture as a mystery, that it must necessarily have never been written about before.  That means no rapture in Isaiah 26 or 66 or Zephaniah 2.  No rapture anywhere in the gospels, etc.  But that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Paul used the word musterion 21 times in his epistles and many of these usages refer to Christ, the gospel, salvation for the Gentiles, etc.  Each of these things were clearly referred to in the Old Testament.  The prophecies were clear.  Yet without the Holy Spirit to illuminate hearts and minds, men and women could never see the forest for the trees.

The Ethiopian eunuch was a perfect example.  He was reading Isaiah 53 for crying out loud, but it was a total mystery to him.  That is until Holy Spirit-indwelt Philip shows up to tell him what just went down in Jerusalem: “The Man you’re reading about there in Isaiah, yeah, well, He just died and rose again not too long ago and I know a bunch of His buddies.  That’s what Isaiah was talking about.”

Yes, Christ and the gospel and the Church and the rapture were all mysteries at the onset of the Church Age, but they were mysteries previously described.  The prophets spoke of them.  But now that Christ has sent the Holy Spirit, these mysteries are fully revealed and we can understand them and more readily see in the Old Testament (and the gospels) where God was speaking about them.

I highly recommend this article on the topic of Jesus’ message of sola fide found in the gospels, especially under the subsection “The Gospel According To Jesus.”

4. Another major issue with Bullingerism is that it inevitably leads to a two-gospel view, in which the gospel to the Jews (“the gospel of the Kingdom”) was a different path to salvation than the gospel of salvation or “the gospel of grace” that we know today.  I could write a whole article on this issue alone, but Stephanie addressed it well.  I simply want to point out that sometimes we attach meaning to a word that isn’t there.  “Gospel,” which comes from the Greek euangélion, is derived from Old English, and a more accurate modern translation would be akin to “good message” or “good news.”  It is a generic term that can apply to many things, so there is no basis to assume that every “gospel” in Scripture is a different path to salvation.  Far be it from God.  Our gracious God never changes.

If I told you I had good news to share with you, would you automatically assume I was about to tell you how to make it to Heaven?  If not, why do many people assume a first century Greek-speaking audience would be any different?  The Bible mentions many “gospels” and only one of those gospels pertains to salvation: thegospel.  The good news of Christ’s atoning sacrifice and resurrection.

It was gospel when Moses delivered a message to the Israelites that God had heard their cry.  It was gospel when King Hezekiah heard that God would deliver Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib.  It was gospel when the sick were told the Son of David was healing their countrymen in Galilee.  And it is gospel that God’s Kingdom is to be imminently established on earth.  Glory to God!  But none of those gospels are the gospel—the good news of eternal salvation for sinners made possible by Christ’s atoning death and resurrection.

The good news of the Kingdom isn’t a different path to salvation.  It’s simply the good news that God’s Kingdom is coming to earth.  But the good news of salvation is that God is saving sinners from their sins through faith in Yeshua.  And this gospel of salvation that Paul preached, though it was prophesied in the Old Testament, was concealed for ages.  Yet though it was concealed, God’s saving power through it applies to every believer in every age.  The good news is for us Gentiles, but also for the Jews.  There is no distinction.

5. Dispensationalism is true in the sense that God has operated in different administrative capacities in different eons and His focuses have changed (from our perspective) from age to age.  It is also true in the sense that the Church—which is composed of Jews and Gentiles (even today), not just Gentiles—has not and will not replace ethnic and national Israel.  But dispensationalism goes too far (and becomes what some call ultra- or hyper-dispensationalism) when it begins to teach that the underlying basis of salvation (Christ’s atoning sacrifice and resurrection) changes with each age or that the Church is an exclusively Gentile entity.  Scripture is properly divided/handled in terms of dispensationalism when we recognize it is a theory that helps us understand God’s seemingly different motives and administrative focuses from one age to the next; but Scripture is wrongly divided when dispensationalism teaches that God Himself changes from one age to the next.  God never changes.  And that’s great news for everyone from Adam on.  Yahweh Himself is salvation!  Trust in Him and you can be saved!

Furthermore, dispensationalism is also true in that it teaches that the Church is a unique entity that will serve a unique eternal purpose.  It will be the first group of those who partake of the first resurrection to experience total redemption.  Jeff has an excellent series on this called Church of the Firstborn (read Part IPart II, and Part III).

6. We all (myself included) need to be weary of intellectual legalism.  For all of my writing on the gospel and opposition to works-righteousness (behavior legalism, if you will), God has humbled me in regard to the gospel.

We all know exactly what the gospel is according to 1 Corinthians 15:

Christ died
For our sins
Was buried

Appeared to many

The gospel is the gospel.  It happened.  And it’s the actual means through which God saves (regardless of the dispensation).  But there can be a sense in which, because of the full revelation of the gospel to the Church, we pride ourselves in our knowledge and ability to perfectly recite it.  And then we demand of others the same.  Sometimes we even add demands to it: A formal declaration of allegiance to sola fide, OSAS, TULIP, etc.  Each of those teachings are true (though I might differ slightly with the ‘L’ in TULIP), but to demand of others a perfect belief in everything pertaining to the gospel is to miss the point—the gospel is about what God has already done, not what we need to do.  God has been saving men and women through faith via Christ’s atoning sacrifice and resurrection long before Luther and Calvin and will continue long after their works are forgotten.

Biblical faith is something of substance and conviction.  It’s in the heart as much as the mind.  It isn’t just something recited or memorized, but is rather something deeply believed that changes your outlook and values.  If you have that convicting faith, then even without any works you will be saved.  And there will be some like that (1 Cor. 3Rom. 4:5).  But a convicting faith normatively shows some form of evidence, however paltry or hidden, thus James 2.

Let’s never forget the simplicity of the gospel.  It’s so simple a toddler can understand and believe it (my three year old son does!), yet so profound that it confounds the wisdom of those who are wise in their own eyes.  And this most simple of truths, that God loves us and has saved us, is a saving message to all who truly believe.

And this then is a segway into my final point…

7. While salvation has always been and will always be because of what our Lord Jesus did on the cross, we need to realize that some of the dispensational mechanics do change:

  • The Church is uniquely gifted with the permanent indwelling of the Holy Spirit via the invisible spiritual baptism we undergo when we believe.
  • This gift was not given before Pentecost in the previous eons and doesn’t appear to be given during the Tribulation.
  • For this reason, Tribulation Saints will only be saved by the blood of the Lamb (Rev. 7:14), but their faith in His blood cannot be maintained by the indwelling Spirit.  Their faith must endure.  This is why two apparent works are added to faith in Revelation for those living through the Tribulation: 1. you must not worship the beast or its image, or 2. take its mark.  Will the mark of the beast be a form of mind control or DNA alteration that prevents faith?  Who knows, but one thing is clear, no one who takes the mark will repent (Rev. 9:2016:911), which is why the principle of sola fide is not broken here.  Those who take the mark or worship the beast will not have faith (and if they think they do it certainly will not be the kind of convictional faith that saves).
  • In previous dispensations when the gospel wasn’t yet fully revealed, God demanded genuine faith in Him, but not a perfect articulation of what the Church now understands.  What saves was still very much what Christ did on the cross, but faith in that cross could not yet be realized.  So circumstances changed (Abraham believed in God’s promise of offspring – Gen. 15:6; Job believed God would send a redeemer for him – Job 19:25–27; Rahab believed in the God of Israel – Josh. 2:8–11; David believed in God’s forgiveness of sins – Ps. 32).  Thus those in the Old Testament with genuine faith were ultimately saved regardless of their trespasses of the Law, but all of those with unbelief were cut off and their sins were counted.

What then of those judged by deeds in Revelation 21?  This is the whole point.  Don’t be judged by deeds because your ways only lead to death.  If it were even possible, you could only pass that final judgment without faith if you kept all of God’s laws perfectly and perpetually.  Aside from our Lord Jesus Christ, exactly zero people qualify.  The first resurrection is good and the second, bad.  The first is unto life and the second unto death.  The first occurs before the second, obviously, but happens in stages (Christ, then the Church, then Old Testament and Tribulation Saints, and then, presumably Millennial Saints at some point during the Millennial Kingdom; see here).

Imminence

This topic continues to come up and I’m sure it will until the very end.  Can we know the day of the rapture or is it completely unknowable?  More importantly, is Christ’s appearing truly imminent?

I don’t have much to say on this that hasn’t already been said, but I will say this: I’ve seen extensive, systematic studies on this topic and the truth is that Scripture seems to support both sides.  There is a tension for a reason.  Why?  Perhaps because God, in His foreknowledge, knew that for 1,900+ years of the Church Age, generations of Christians would not live to see the rapture.  Yet the rapture is always imminent in a certain sense to every Christian, because even those who died in the first century were gathered to the LORD immediately—that is, their souls (perhaps in a similar fashion to the souls of the 5th Seal Martyrs who are gathered under the heavenly altar).  Thus the rapture is imminent to all of us.  The distance between us and Christ is only ever as long as our life in these fleshly bodies.  Scripture routinely speaks about the nearness of Christ’s parousia and our being gathered to Him.  We are to eagerly anticipate this quickly approaching, but mysterious day.

But there is another theme in Scripture that is equally present: we are to watch and know the times.  How much can we know?  Well, we can see the Day approaching (Heb. 10:25); we will not be caught by surprise, because it will not be like a thief in the night to us (1 Thess. 5:1–4); and we are advised not to be like the one who does not know the day or hour (Mt. 24:48–51; Rev. 3:3).

Three things are clear: 1. No one has yet been able to pinpoint the dates of the rapture or second coming (as far as I know), 2. Those dates are fast approaching in our generation, even within the next several years, and 3. Those who hold to the doctrine of imminency as if it means Christ will literally come at a completely random/unknown time are mistaken.

Let me explain that third point a bit more.  I do not have a problem with the doctrine of imminency if it is properly reconciled with other Scriptures.  Certainly Christ’s coming is imminent for all Christians in every generation from a human and earthly perspective.  But that’s as far as the doctrine can go in terms of biblical support.

Some proponents take the doctrine further saying Jesus still doesn’t know and that literally nothing else needs to happen between now and the rapture.  Both of those beliefs are plainly false.  Our glorified Savior most certainly knows now and He also knows exactly what events will transpire on earth between now and our being gathered to Him.  Here are two sorts of things that must happen between now and the rapture:

1. Anyone who was predestined to be part of the Body of Christ must come to a saving knowledge of the truth.

2. Any geopolitical, economic, religious, or societal changes necessary to bring about post-rapture conditions on earth as described in biblical prophecy must happen.  In other words, the stage must be set.  And this has been a big focus of Unsealed, to trumpet these things as they happen.  100 years ago, who would have foreseen the Revelation 12 Sign, RFID, the war in Syria, the Jewish State Law, or the dedication of the Third Temple altar?  Yet all of these things were destined to happen before Christ takes us home.

Mt. Sinai
This is something that I was already distantly aware of, but a documentary was recently shared with me that seals the deal and I would strongly encourage you to watch it and share it with your friends.  This discovery is to me as exciting as Rick Larson’s Bethlehem Star in 2007 or the Revelation 12 Sign’s discovery in 2008–2011.  Jabal Maqla in Saudi Arabia seems undoubtedly to be the true Mt. Sinai.  After all, Paul himself said it was in Arabia (Gal. 4:25).  You can learn more here or watch the video below:

WHY CHRISTIANS ARE PERSECUTED

David Kupelian on real reason believers have been attacked ever since Jesus walked the earth

Resurrection-Lazarus-Wiki-Commons

Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? … And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes; … Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him.

But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done. Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles. If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation. … Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put him to death.

– John 11:39-40, 43-48, 53

The story of Jesus Christ raising Lazarus from the dead is one of the most dramatic in the New Testament. Yet, almost as amazing as bringing a man back to life after four days in the grave is the authorities’ reaction to this astonishing miracle: It made them want to kill Jesus.

This cosmic irony – of genuine godliness inspiring loathing and violence – has been reflected throughout our world ever since.

Christianity inspired hostility from the beginning; not only was Jesus crucified, but 11 of the 12 apostles were martyred.

christian_cross

Today, sincere followers of Jesus Christ are under attack everywhere, not only in lands dominated by religions and governments hostile to Christianity, but increasingly in those parts of the world historically home to, and founded by, Christians.

Think of it. The most transcendent way of life a man or woman can embrace on this earth – one that commands not only that you love God with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself, but that you “love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you” – is cursed, hated and persecuted.

This persecution shows up in a broad spectrum of ways. In the United States it is, as a rule, far less overt and brutal than overseas, taking the form of censorship, demonization and criminalization – for example, the never-ending prosecutions of Christian businesses and individuals (including the jailing of a Christian county clerk) for being unwilling to actively participate in homosexual weddings. Then there are the ubiquitous assaults on Christian expression in the public square, online and within our public schools and armed forces, and the ongoing destruction of Christian memorials, crosses, nativity scenes and the like, and even the recent equating of Christianity with white supremacism and the open mockery of prayer.

Of course, in much of the rest of the world no such subtlety or restraints exist, with scores of nations persecuting, torturing, enslaving and slaughtering Christians daily.

By every measure, Christian persecution – and even more fundamentally, fear and loathing of biblical Christianity – is growing worldwide, even in the once-Christian West, including Europe, the United Kingdom and North America.

The most appalling manifestation within the U.S. has been church shooting massacres, including September 2017’s church shooting in Tennessee and the following November’s mass-murder in rural Texas when a militant atheist, calling believers “stupid,” slaughtered 26 churchgoers and injured dozens more.

Around the world, sums up Open Doors, a ministry serving the needs of the persecuted faithful, “Christians are being persecuted in more countries and in more ways than ever before.”
first-baptist-church-texas-shooting-scene-tw-600

Why is this happening?

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. – John 3:19-20

In many parts of the globe, the reasons Christian believers are targeted are clear enough: Christians are considered “infidels” by millions of Muslims taught from birth that such are deserving of death or forced conversion to Islam, or else dhimmitude (subservient second-class status including a punitive tax). Likewise, the ruling elite in communist societies indoctrinates the population that there is no God – or, as in North Korea, that their leader is a god – rendering Christianity a serious competitor for the people’s loyalty and thus a mortal threat to communists’ limitless ambitions to power.

But even in America, Christian believers are increasingly reviled in a land historically founded as an explicitly Christian one. America’s culture today is not merely un-Christian, but anti-Christian. The news and entertainment media mock and belittle Christian beliefs as do most of the nation’s colleges and universities, while the political left increasingly equates biblical values with ignorance and bigotry at best, and at worst, with white nationalism and fascism. Unfortunately, this growing antipathy toward Christianity was turbocharged by President Obama, who for eight years openly denigrated the very faith he claims to follow. In reality, raised by a Muslim stepfather and schooled as a follower of Islam in Indonesia, Obama later embraced the atheistic religion of Marxism for decades – and he has never publicly renounced nor even criticized either one.

But let us now turn up the magnification and take a much closer look at what actually underlies today’s growing antagonism toward the followers and teachings of Christ.

Bear with me, please, because it may seem at first as though we’re not dealing directly with the subject at hand – Christian persecution – although you’ll soon see we have arrived at the very heart of the matter.

Let’s zoom in on a common scene in 21st-century America. For the nearly four-and-a-half decades since Roe v. Wade, pro-lifers – the vast majority of them Christians – have been standing vigil and praying outside abortion clinics across the country and, when opportunity arises, speaking to the mostly young women entering therein. As a rule, these “sidewalk counselors” demonstrate genuine love and concern for both mother and child, frequently offering to take the expectant mother to a nearby pro-life crisis pregnancy center that gives free ultrasounds, counseling and support in dealing with a crisis pregnancy without abortion. Countless women have been helped this way; otherwise, pro-lifers wouldn’t engage in this outreach year after year.

But some women – and a great many of the abortion clinics’ staffers – insist they witness vile, hateful, vicious verbal assaults from the pro-life interventionists. It’s not true, of course. I have known many pro-life activists and sidewalk counselors, including some who offer – out of their own personal substance – to help these girls, to pay their way, even take them into their own home to provide them with a loving, supportive, life-affirming alternative to abortion. They are motivated by love.

Why, then, do some people experience the genuine concern of kindhearted, well-intentioned people as vile, vicious and abusive?

March-for-Life-2013-Wiki-Commons

Only because, in order to head down the dark path toward aborting their child, they have had to stifle or ignore their own conscience – that little spark of God within, the moral compass in every human being that illuminates right from wrong. And what happens when this conscience, which they have managed for the time being to evade, suddenly pops out in another person and speaks eloquently and boldly to them? They react to the voice of conscience in the pro-lifer the same way they react to their own conscience – as an adversary to be discredited and overcome.

In essence, since they feel pain when the Christian pro-lifer speaks to them, they conclude that the person did something terribly wrong to them!

But in reality, all that’s happening is the light of truth shining through one soul is exposing a dark deed in another – in this case, fortunately, a dark deed that hasn’t yet occurred. (This is why some of the most grateful people on earth are women who have been confronted by someone with a little love before entering an abortion clinic.)

Much the same dynamic is replicated in other areas of life, such as when Christian business owners including wedding photographers, bakers, event planners and venue hosts decline on moral-religious grounds to actively participate in homosexual weddings, which celebrate something the Bible explicitly condemns as immoral and sinful. To many who have fallen into the highly addictive world of homosexuality, someone shining a light on their sexual perversion by simply declining to participate in a wedding ceremony is seen as evidence not just of bigotry and hate, but of a crime.

Yet consider that a remarkable body of major peer-reviewed research confirms what previous generations of psychiatrists and psychologists knew, and what many people intuitively recognize – that homosexual identification frequently results from childhood sexual abuse. Thus, despite today’s supercharged cultural and legal affirmation of homosexuality as a perfectly normal, healthy, even glorious lifestyle, underneath it all great anxiety and guilt persist because homosexual acts actually are morally wrong and disordered and often rooted in trauma. When that deeply buried angst over one’s homosexuality is awakened by some innocent person who fails to affirm that homosexuality is moral and wholesome, it is often experienced as “hate.”

It is not hate, only an unwelcome truth.

Ironically, though Islam is infinitely harsher than Christianity in its treatment of homosexuals – lashing them, throwing them off buildings, hanging, stoning, torturing or shooting them – rarely are any complaints heard from the left about Islam. Only about Christianity. Why?

Islam-gay-boy-TerrorMonitor-TW

Because the left’s real enemy is not Islam, it is the Judeo-Christian biblical precepts and commandments that for centuries served as Western civilization’s moral foundation. The left does not feel threatened by Islam because Islam doesn’t shine a light on the left’s sins; it just represents a different form of darkness and, therefore, causes no spiritual conflict or shame.

Moreover, for now at least, the left is strategically comfortable allying with Islam because “the enemy of your enemy is your friend,” and both Islam and the atheistic left are at war with Christianity.

It’s no coincidence that the two previous examples cited – abortion and homosexuality – both revolve around sex. Much of the American left’s hatred of Christianity has everything to do with sex and morality. Indeed, since the 1960s cultural revolution and the ascendency of the various “liberation” movements – “sexual liberation,” “gay liberation,” “women’s liberation,” legalized abortion and so on, much of it hinging on “sexual freedom” – one single factor has stood in opposition to total Marxist socio-sexual anarchy: biblical morality.

That’s right. Even today, most of those so strenuously denouncing the endless stream of sexual predators being exposed in Hollywood, Congress and the news media fail to realize that the only thing that has ever effectively restrained such misbehavior has been the Judeo-Christian moral laws found in the Bible.

How ironic that the very worldview the left mocks is the one and only factor that has, for all previous generations, provided our society with a sacred core of sound moral values with regard to sex, marriage and family. The secular elite’s hypocrisy is staggering: America’s colleges promote sexual anarchy in every conceivable way, with Harvard holding its annual “Sex Week” last month, including a clinic instructing students on how to have anal sex. And yet these same institutions complain bitterly about the “culture of rape” on campus – a culture they literally created.

The very high cost of discipleship

And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. – John 1:5

What about the rest of the world? In so many nations, life is more wretched and the human spirit more stifled than we in the West can ever imagine.

And in these dark regions, where the light of Judeo-Christian civilization has never dawned, and where the marvelous freedom, security, self-worth, individual rights and resulting entrepreneurism, innovation and other blessings of liberty have never existed, the dynamics of persecution just described manifest not as mockery and lawsuits, but as brutal suppression, mayhem, madness and murder.

For those who rise to positions of power in totalitarian nations, as well as for those unfree souls forced to serve as soldier-slaves of the regime’s enforcement machinery, the mortal threat posed by the very existence of the Christian Gospel being shared in that land – because of its exceedingly powerful appeal to the hearts, minds and souls of the people – is total. It must be stamped out at all costs. The darkness not only can’t “comprehend” the light – it absolutely can’t stand it and feels compelled to put it out.

The extreme penalties simply for being a Christian in much of the Arab-Muslim world, and especially for apostasy – converting to Christianity from Islam, generally earning a death sentence – are a measure of just how truly dark the state-mandated religion can be in many parts of the world.

egypt_christians

And yet, to the great masses of people living in totalitarian regions, hearing and receiving the Gospel message often is like being gifted with cool water in a stifling spiritual desert. This is why, despite the very high cost of discipleship, Christianity blooms readily in the most hostile places on earth. Places like Nigeria and Somalia in northern Africa, where being a Christian can easily mean having your home burned to the ground and your entire family beheaded, and North Korea, where simply being found to possess a small Bible can lead to summary execution with a high-powered rifle shot to the head. But many would much rather live with the extreme danger, yet with joy and the promise of eternal life, than continue in the living death they had before.

And then, there is Europe.

Currently in the process of being conquered by Islam, Europe has already largely been conquered by the seductive, atheistic, yet insufferably self-righteous “religion” of socialism/Marxism and the moral and spiritual emptiness it truly represents. Europeans rejected the stout Christian faith of their forefathers for the sake of gaining “freedom” from their prior bondage to old-fashioned morality, biblical values and the personal responsibility, self-denial and sacrifice that real liberty requires. However, that rebellion against their centuries-old Christian foundations has created a raging spiritual vacuum, which Islam has been only too happy to fill. With its rapidly expanding population – comprising both migrants and converts –Europe’s Muslims seem full of religious fervor and willingness to have lots of children unlike native Europeans, and to generate a never-ending supply of fired-up jihad warriors and wannabe martyrs eager to die while ushering in the Islamic apocalypse.

It’s been said it takes a religion to fight a religion – and Europe has none.

Indeed, the plight of Europe and the United Kingdom today is eerily reminiscent of the many biblical accounts of God’s chosen people who, having fallen into disobedience and corruption, were invaded, put to the sword and conquered by pagan armies serving an alien god.

Freedom from bondage

Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. – Matthew 5:11-12

So where does this leave us? Our world, despite its natural beauty, wonder and awesomely dazzling complexity, is filled with the wretchedness of desperate people trying to bear up under the yoke of every form of bondage. Not just bondage to deranged leaders and enslaving philosophies, religions and governments, but bondage to drugs, alcohol, food, sex, gambling and everything in between. Human weaknesses like pride, doubt, anger, lust and greed manifest as cruelty, confusion, corruption, exploitation and criminality – and terrorism and war are never far behind. Even in the most civilized of nations like America, rage, depression, anxiety, mental illness, addiction, divorce, family breakdown, hopelessness and suicide far too often get the upper hand.

Yet, God is merciful. For into this exceedingly dark world, He sends a gift. The Creator of the entire universe, omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent, somehow manages to wrap His nature and goodness and grace and healing and majesty and a plan for redemption all into a tiny package – a present for mankind – and sends it to earth in the form of an infant. A wonder literally beyond our imagining, God’s Son is not only full of love and truth and innocence – basically, everything this world is not – but bears the ultimate gift of healing for mankind. The child grows up to become not only the most important person to ever live – the greatest example, greatest teacher, greatest religious leader and so on – but much more. He becomes the savior of mankind, the doorway to a new life for us, both in this world and the next.

121204repentanceprayer

But, He says, there will be many difficulties as we journey through this present life.

Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. – John 15:20

For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake. – Philippians 1:29

Even so, there is a sort of divine magic afoot, for all who embrace Him and faithfully follow His path to peace and fulfillment even in the midst of suffering, joy in the face of heartache, fullness of life even when surrounded by death. The magic of God’s love for us and our redemption is a great and mysterious heavenly miracle, yet down here at “ground level” we are called to focus on forgiveness: God forgives our sins through Christ’s sacrifice for us – and we, in gratitude and obedience, forgive everyone else’s sins. Everyone. Completely and totally.

Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven. – Matthew 5:44-45

If you think about it, when we bless those who curse us and do good to them that hate us and pray for those who persecute us, we can’t lose. No matter what. We become bulletproof. The good is good, and the bad is good, so to speak.

Christian_soldiers

Moreover, let’s remember that as important as this life is, we are on a sojourn through this world to another kingdom. While here, we’re meant to live every moment of our lives in faithful service and obedience to our now and future king.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. – Revelation 21:4-5  (Click to Source)

Over 1000 Japanese believers gather to hear Bible teaching from a Jewish Perspective

02-tokyo-venue-300x225
Tokyo: full day program with 580 attendees
There is a vibrant body of believers in Japan who are studying the Bible from the Jewish perspective and have a love for the Jewish people and Israel! They are associated with Harvest Time Ministries and recently, around 1,100 of them attended the 9th Harvest Time Ministries Second Coming of Messiah Conference held in Osaka(Oct. 31), Nagoya(Nov. 1) and Tokyo(Nov. 3) to learn from Messianic Rabbi Larry Feldman and his wife, Fran.

A Japanese Pastor Meets an American Messianic Jewish Scholar in the Philippines

In 1989 Pastor Kenichi Nakagawa, the founder and leader of Harvest Time Ministries, met Dr. Arnold Fruchtenbaum, the founder of Ariel Ministries, at a conference in the Philippines. This was a turning point in Pastor Nakagawa’s ministry. He comprehended that Dr. Fruchtenbaum’s teaching of the Bible from the Jewish perspective was the approach he must learn and share with the Japanese people so he dedicated himself to relearning how to teach the Bible and laid out the philosophy and principles that have since guided Harvest Time Ministries.

Philosophy of Harvest Time Ministries

We teach and comprehend the Bible from the Jewish perspective. Based on a thorough understanding of the time, culture, and context, we interpret the Bible using the literal grammatical-historical method.

There is a huge gap in time, culture, and geography between the Bible’s authors and us. The meaning of something that would have been easily understood by those living at the time of writing is now difficult for us in the 21st century to comprehend. For that reason it is essential for us to learn the historical background of the Bible.

Further, since the Bible was written in the context of Jewish culture it is necessary to have knowledge about the manners, customs and languages of that time.

Why is Harvest Time Ministries so passionate about teaching the Bible?

Harvest Time Ministries believes in the power of the Word and understands Japanese culture. There is a long history of the gospel being proclaimed in Japan with the percentage of Christians remaining stuck at around 1% of the population. This should not be interpreted to mean that Japanese will not accept the message of the Bible. There are some countries which have a national passion for singing. There are some countries where people love to do community activities. The approach to evangelism is determined by the characteristics of the people.

So, what do Japanese love to do? Japanese love to study! This is a characteristic of Japanese culture. In this context, Harvest Time Ministries approaches the Bible straightforwardly and focuses on seriously studying all aspects of it with the belief that understanding the Bible will bring about a true spiritual awakening to Japan.

Fran Feldman opened the conference by sharing her testimony of growing up in a Jewish home and how first her brothers, then her mother and finally she and her father came to faith in Messiah Yeshua. Hiroshi Nakagawa of Harvest Time Ministries USA interpreted for her. Her story resonated with many of Japanese believers who are also 1st generation believers in their family.

Rabbi Feldman spoke on:

  1. Presenting G-d’s Plan For Israel From the Jewish Scriptures (Tanach),
  2. G-d’s Promises to Israel, Presenting Messiah From The Jewish Scriptures (Tanach), and
  3. A Biblical Basis for Jewish Evangelism

Rabbi Feldman says this about their experience:

This was the first time that Fran and I came to Japan and we were not sure what to expect but were very surprised and blessed by the entire trip. To begin with the ministry was wonderful. The three meetings in Osaka, Nagoya and Tokyo were very well attended. The worship was godly and spiritual. Samuel Kan’s music and singing was uplifting and encouraging. People were very receptive and diligent in their desire to learn the Scriptures. The Spirit of God truly seems to bring us all together and overcome any cultural differences. The whole trip was just a complete joy and blessing to my wife and myself. I look forward in the future to the ministry in Japan.

Views of the Participants

After the program, many participants wrote their impressions. These are some of the reasons people attended and are interested in Jewish evangelism.

  • The 900+ messages on Harvest Time Ministries’ Message Station Internet site are interesting.  Harvest Time Website:  https://harvesttime.tv/
  • Harvest Time Ministries teaches the Bible using the literal grammatical-historical method and from the Jewish perspective.
  • Went on the Harvest Time Ministries’ Holy Land Tour and met Messianic Jewish believers in Israel.
  • Had an experience with a Christian organization like Bridges for Peace
  • Church prays for the salvation of Israel
  • Interested in eschatology

Two responses highlight the need for and the fruit of Harvest Time Ministries connecting Japanese believers with the Messianic community through bringing teachers to Japan and going to Israel:

  1. Up until now I have not had a very good impression of Jews. My impression came from what I heard about the Palestinian problem and Jews being focused on wealth. This prevented me from loving them. But, I felt through experiencing today’s conference that God has given me an opportunity to repent. I personally know several Jews and will now pray for their salvation and happiness.
  1. I first learned about Jewish evangelism when I started listening to Pastor Nakagawa’s messages. Before hearing about it I had absolutely no interest in the Jewish people. Now I consider them to be precious. I pray from my heart for the salvation of the Jewish people. I have attended every Second Coming of Messiah Conference. Since I came to believe in the second coming of Messiah I live each day with a feeling of peace.

“White for the Harvest”

John 4:35-36
Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work. Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest.”

For the past 20 years Harvest Time Ministries has been inviting distinguished Messianic Bible teachers to Japan to give Japanese believers a first-hand experience of the Bible being a Jewish book and to have Messianic teachers get a first-hand experience of the support Japanese believers have for the Jewish people and Israel. It is appropriate to conclude this article with a word from Pastor Nakagawa about his experience doing this ministry and his expectations for the future.

The average Japanese considers the Bible to be a sacred book of a Western religion that is difficult to understand. But, once I started teaching people how to read the Bible from the Jewish perspective I saw more and more people understanding it.

Our ministry began with the vision: Bible Study will ignite a Spiritual Awakening in Japan. We now see this vision steadily being realized. A spiritual awakening in Japan is underway! We pray and ask for your prayers for the season of Messiah to come to Japan.

Witches Rise Up to Hex Justice Brett Kavanaugh

By: Jennifer LeClairePublished on: Oct 11, 2018

brettkavanaugh-hex-1080x600

Witchcraft season is upon us—a time of year where the world celebrates darkness and witches form demonic companies to celebrate dark forces. One example is making secular media headlines: Brooklyn witches are banding together for a rushed ritual to hex, vex and curse newly-minted Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh in an event straightforwardly called: “Ritual to Hex Brett Kavanaugh.”

Hexes are a form of witchcraft. As a verb, it means “to bewitch; practice witchcraft on,” according to Dictionary.com. But again, hexes work in the realm of bringing “bad luck.” The world may call it bad karma or bad joo-joo but it’s a wicked power based in witchcraft.

Catland Books, a metaphysical boutique and event space in Brooklyn, is organizing an event called Ritual to Hex Brett Kavanaugh on Oct. 20. Catland Books bills itself as a venue that serves occultists, yogis, pagans, mystics, thelemites, witches, chaotes and the like.

Witches Funding Planned Parenthood

Catland has turned to Eventbrite to get the word out about the wicked event and at $10 a ticket, could make a tidy profit from the stunt. The Eventbrite registration page, with all its misspellings, reads:

“Please join us for a publich hex on Brett Kavanaugh and upon all rapists and the patriarchy which emboldens, rewards and protects them. We will be embracing witchcraft’s true roots as the magik of the poor, the downtrodden and disenfranchised and it’s history as often the only weapon, the only means of exacting justice available to those of us who have been wronged by men just like him.

“He will be the focal point, but by no means the only target, so bring your rage and all of the axes you’ve got to grind. There will also be a second ritual afterward – “The Rites of the Scorned One” which seeks to validate, affirm, uphold and support those of us who have been wronged and who refuse to be silent any longer.”

Catland vows to give 25% of the proceeds to Planned Parenthood, further spreading an agenda of evil and death. The Eventbrite listing is sold out, but the group has also promoted it on Facebook. Nearly 1,000 say they are going and nearly 10,000 are interested as of the time of this writing.

Understanding Hexes

In Galatians 3:1, Paul the apostle wrote, “You crazy Galatians! Did someone put a hex on you Have you taken leave of your senses? The Greek word for “hex” in this verse is “baskaino.” In this context, it means “to charm, to bewitch,” according to The KJV New Testament Greek Lexicon. But other lexicon definitions offer more insight: “to speak ill of one, to slander, to traduce him” and “to bring evil on one by feigning praise or an evil eye.”

That’s telling! When someone slanders you, they are hexing you! Traduce means “to expose to shame or blame by means of falsehood or misrepresentation” or “violate, betray,” according to Merriam-Webster. An evil eye is “an eye or glance held capable of inflicting harm.”

You’ve heard it said, “If looks could kill, I’d be dead on the floor.” Many trace the origin of this phrase to dark literature, specifically Bram Stoker’s Dracula, which was published in 1897. Dracula says, “If ever a face meant death—if looks could kill—we saw it at that moment.” I imagine Jezebel offered a deadly look to Jehu to accompany her hex on Jehu as he came to dethrone her and put an end to her witchcrafts.

Proverbs 10:10 tells us, “He who winks with his eye causes trouble…” As you can see, hexes are certain form of witchcraft with a specific purpose.

Praying for Kavanaugh and Yourself

Witches are rising up with boldness to hex public officials. A band of witches set out to destroy President Donald Trump after he was elected. As you can see, the hex failed to take hold.

But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t pray to break it. In fact, I’m convinced the curses and spells cast on President Trump fail to land because of our prayers. Now is the time—especially in this season—to pray and push back darkness. Here’s my prayer:

Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank You that the curse causeless shall not come against Kavanaugh or myself. I break the power of hexes, vexes, spells, evil decrees, potions, black magic and every other expression of witchcraft spoken against Kavanaugh, myself, my family, my businesses, my ministries and everything that pertains to me, in Jesus’ name. I plead the blood of Jesus over Kavanaugh and myself and all that concerns me, in Christ’s name. I ask You to send warring angels to fight on my behalf against the rulers of darkness and other demonic entities that stand against Your will in my life and in this nation, in the name of Jesus. Israel warns that full-scale war with Gaza is ‘INEVITABLE’, as Israeli Security Cabinet mulls a massive strike against Hamas

Netanyahu, Liberman Warn Full-Scale War With Hamas ‘Inevitable’

1-36

By: Ilanit Chernick/TPS

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman warned Sunday that war with Hamas in Gaza was drawing ever closer.

Speaking at the beginning of the weekly Cabinet meeting Sunday, Netanyahu said that “Hamas has yet to get the message that if it fails to stop its aggression it will be halted through other means and it will be painful, very painful.”

Netanyahu’s comments came after mass protests on Friday, during which several Palestinians breached the border fence and attacked an IDF position. Five Palestinians were killed in the incident and two more were killed during the violent protest along the border fence.

“We are very close to taking the kind of action that will include very painful strikes. If Hamas has any sense it will stop,” Netanyahu added.

‘Hamas is Responsible for Everything that is Happening’
Liberman was even more forceful warning that war with Gaza had become “inevitable.”

Liberman told the Hebrew language Ynet website that “We have reached the moment – we must strike Hamas with the hardest blow. We have made every effort and exhausted every possibility… War is inevitable.”

“Hamas has turned violence on the fence into a strategic weapon by which they hope to erode our ability to withstand and deter,” he told Ynet. “We have reached the moment that we have to strike the hardest blow possible on Hamas, but…the cabinet will have to decide.”

Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan also weighted in on the issue in an interview with Israel Radio, saying that: “Hamas is responsible for everything that is happening. If, in the coming days, we do not reach an understanding and quiet does not resume [on the Gaza border], there is a considerable probability of a major campaign.”

Nearly seven months of continued violence along the Gaza border have daily incendiary arson attacks that have destroyed thousands of acres of land in southern Israel and caused millions of shekels worth of damages.

Violent weekly mass demonstrations along the border have seen Palestinian breach the border fence on several occasions, attack Israeli military positions and vandalize security infrastructures.

Some 200 Palestinians have been killed, while one Israeli soldier was killed by sniper fire. (Click to Source)

BREAKING: Jewish Nation-State Bill Becomes Law, Biggest Prophetic Development In 50 Years

portada-tribu-dan-griegos
An ancient mosaic depicting the 12 tribes of Israel

The final draft of the Jewish Nation-State Basic Law was approved Wednesday by an 8 to 7 committee vote after government officials and Knesset members wrangled over key details in the text.  The bill then went to a final vote very early Thursday morning (Israeli time) and passed it’s second and third readings in the full Knesset with a vote of 62 to 55.  The third reading is final and because of this successful vote, the bill now becomes law.  As an Israeli Basic Law, it has constitutional weight and supersedes regular statutory legislation.  Even more, this is Israel’s twelfth Basic Law, so the nation of 12 tribes and 12 apostles is now governed by 12 major laws (source)*.

In my estimation, July 19, 2018 will go down in history as one of the most significant dates in Israel’s prophetic history—right up there with May 14, 1948 and June 7, 1967.  1948 was the restoration of the nation-state itself, 1967 the restoration of the nation’s capital, and 2018 the restoration of the nation’s biblical identity.

The Knesset’s final vote on the Nation-State Basic Law very early on July 19, 2018
Arab MKs tore copies of the new Basic Law in protest after the conclusion of the vote and there has been a firestorm of negative media targeting Israel because of the bill.  Western and Arab media alike are falsely accusing Israel of becoming a “fascist” apartheid state.  No doubt Israel’s enemies will see the bill’s passage as an excuse for further attacks.

Thousands have gathered in Tel Aviv to protest the legislation:

I’ve been following the progression of this law through the Knesset since March, recognizing that if it were to pass this year it would undoubtedly make 2018 as prophetically significant as 1948 and 1967.  Well, it passed.  It happened.  And it happened 70 years since the nation was established—the length of a biblical generation according to Psalm 90:10.  Israel’s biblical and Jewish identity has now been restored, along with its prophetic purpose to in-gather the exiles and possess the Holy Land.  Even more amazing, it was exactly one year ago this week that Israel temporarily regained control of the Temple Mount and Jewish prayers were first offered openly on the ancient Temple platform.  Counting inclusively, it has also been exactly 43 weeks, to the day, since the Feast of Trumpets in 2017 and exactly 300 days since the Revelation 12 Sign.  In other words, in an exact number of weeks and days within a human gestational period since the Great Sign last year, a major prophetic event pertaining to Israel has occurred.

The new Jewish Nation-State Basic Law makes official that:
  • The land of Israel belongs to the Jewish people only (as God’s covenant to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob stipulates); from 1948 to 2018 it was the land of both Jews and Arabs
  • The Israelites’ ancient language, Hebrew, is now the official language of the land
  • The biblical calendar is now the official calendar of Israel
  • Keeping the biblical Sabbath is now a nationwide requirement
  • The biblical festivals and holidays are now officially recognized by the state and must be kept nationwide
  • The Israeli government must work to complete ingathering the exiles—a prophetic term pertaining to the end of the age when the dispersed Israelites would return to the land; furthermore, the law makes official Israel’s connection to the Diaspora
  • Jerusalem is the undivided capital of Israel
  • Jewish settlement of the Holy Land is now a “national value” and will be officially encouraged by the government—further bringing Israel back on track for God’s prophetic program of the Israelites possessing the land
  • The state shall act in official capacity to preserve the Jewish religion around the world
  • The Star of David is the official flag, the Second Temple’s Menorah is the official state symbol, and Hatikvah, a poem which formalizes the Israelites’ prophetic desire to return to Zion, is the official national anthem
  • Interestingly, it seems that the bill changes the official name of Israel from the “State of Israel” to just “Israel”
1948: THE NATION OF ISRAEL REBORN* →

1967: JERUSALEM RETAKEN →

2018: THE LAND’S BIBLICAL IDENTITY RESTORED

A major dispensational change is now imminent when God will return His focus to the restoration of Israel:

When they finished, James spoke up. ‘Brothers,’ he said, ‘listen to me.  Simon has described to us how God first intervened to choose a people for his name from the Gentiles.  The words of the prophets are in agreement with this, as it is written:

‘After this I will return
and rebuild David’s fallen tent.
Its ruins I will rebuild,
and I will restore it,
that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord,
even all the Gentiles who bear my name,
says the Lord, who does these things—
things known from long ago.’

*Note on Israel’s Basic LawsThe Knesset had previously established 14 Basic Laws, but three of the 14 were later repealed by subsequent Basic Laws, thus the Jewish Nation-State Law is now the twelfth.

*Note on Israel’s rebirth: The nation-state was “reborn” or “reestablished” in 1948, but the people themselves will not be reborn until they place their faith in their Messiah, the LORD Jesus Christ.  Sadly, prophecy tells us that this will not happen until well into the Tribulation.
