While Iran, US Go Head-to-Head, Iranians Are Turning Their Hearts to Jesus

06-26-2019 – Chris Mitchell

It may surprise you that the fastest growing church in the world is in Iran.  Yet that’s the assessment of those who have seen and heard the remarkable story of millions turning away from Shiite Islam and turning toward Jesus Christ.

The image Iran presents to the world is large demonstrations with shouts of ‘Death to America’ and ‘Death to Israel’.

Those who have seen Iran from the inside, however, paint a very different picture.

“You can’t believe the images on TV.  Because for example, all the protests you see on the streets, those are mostly contrived.  They’re young people on the streets and they’ve told us if we don’t go to the streets, we won’t get our grades so we’re forced to go and protest,” one Iranian church worker said.

He spoke to CBN News on condition of anonymity.

He says there are two Irans.  The one you see on the news and the other hidden from the world.

“I would say there’s a 10 percent Iran and a 90 percent Iran.  Ten percent control the country in a more oppressive manner, hardline, religious manner and then the majority of the people, 90 percent of the people love America.  They don’t hate Americans.  I think that’s the message that Americans need to hear.  They tell us all the time, we don’t hate Americans, we love America.”

He wants Americans to know that forty years after Iran’s Islamic revolution, there’s another spiritual revolution underway.

“Awaken to the truth that we live in a time that’s very special.  More people have come to faith in Iran in the forty years than in the previous 1400 years.  So, there’s a once, not only in a lifetime, but in history where we have a moment where Iranians are coming to faith at such a rapid rate.”

Frontiers Alliance International (FAI) is producing a documentary called Sheep Among Wolves to introduce the Iranian church to Christians worldwide.

“What’s taking place in Iran right now is spectacular,” says FAI founder and director Dalton Thomas.  “It’s the fastest growing church in the world that owns no buildings, has no 501c3’s, that owns no property, that has no bank accounts; that has no centralized leadership; that has no denominational leaning and yet it’s multiplying like crazy … What the Lord is doing there is staggering.”

The evangelism results in intense persecution that Thomas says leads Iranian believers to seek prayer but not in a way you may think.

“Typically, the way we pray is we expect that they want us to pray for the persecution to end and they say, no, no, don’t do that.  Persecution is growing the church.  When the persecution stops, the growth stops.  What we want is the Gospel to spread far and wide and deep in Iran.”

With Iran and the use on the brink of war, Thomas says it’s important to see what’s happening behind the Iranian veil.

“When Muslims from Iran come in contact with the Man from Nazareth, something beautiful happens.  And when they realize that they have been bought and saved and purchased with Jewish blood; prophesized by Jewish prophets in a Jewish Bible something crazy happens; something beautiful happens and that’s what we’re seeing take place in Iran.”

Thomas believes one day the world may wake up to find Iran’s church growth in the 21stcentury rivaling that in China and Korea in the last century. (Click to Source)

Netanyahu Says ‘NO’ to Palestinian State – I will not divide Jerusalem!

In a pre-election interview, PM Netanyahu promises not to uproot settlements or give up control of security in Judea, Samaria.

In an interview with the editor of a conservative Israeli weekly, Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said that he has already told White House adviser Jared Kushner and US Special Envoy to the Middle East Jason Greenblatt that there can be no Palestinian state.

In the interview, published this Friday in Hebrew, Makor Rishon editor Hagai Segal raised the issue of US President Donald Trump’s “Deal of the Century” which, he said, would “probably be on the table immediately after the elections.”

But Prime Minister Netanyahu said that he did not know when the Americans would present the plan.

“I asked that question in a visit to Washington now, and I did not get an answer: If they had wanted to present the plan right after the elections, they would have said so. In any event, I stated my guidelines for the plan. I will not accept any plan that uproots even a single settlement or settler,” Netanyahu said.

Hagai Segal: Could there be Palestinian sovereignty over Jewish settlements?

Netanyahu: “Certainly not. Not even a single one. Governance west of the Jordan River will remain in our hands. We have the responsibility for governing from a security point of view over the entire area. That is our condition. We will not commit suicide to win a positive article in the New York Times, which will not last more than two hours. ”

HS: So what will the Palestinians get from you?

‘’They will run their own lives,” PM Netanyahu responded. “We have no interest in running Nablus.” He repeated that “As far as I’m concerned, there are three iron conditions: No settlers are displaced and secondly, we are sovereign from a security point of view in the entire area west of the Jordan River. Third, I will not divide Jerusalem.”

HS: And if Trump were to demand recognition of a Palestinian state, and were to say that after everything he did for Israel, Israel must acquiesce?

“There will be no Palestinian state. Former Vice President Joe Biden told me at the time that given all the conditions I have – regarding maintaining security in our hands, maintaining the settlements and not dividing Jerusalem – there can be no Palestinian state. I said to him, “That is correct”. These are my positions. These are the three principles that I will not give up on. I told Jared Kushner and Jason Greenblatt the same. (Click to Source)

The U.S. to Recognize Israeli Sovereignty Over Golan Next Week

The White House may be preparing to recognize Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, say, senior Israeli officials, suggesting that an announcement regarding recognition could come as early as next week.

According to a report Thursday morning by Israel’s Channel 13, senior Israeli officials believe the Trump administration is preparing to formally recognize Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights – ending a decades-long US policy of non-recognition of Israel’s annexation of the strategic plateau.

The officials cited by the report say the US could announce plans to recognize Israeli sovereignty over the Golan as early as next week, coinciding with Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu’s meeting with President Donald Trump in Washington, during the annual American Israel Public Affairs Committee conference.

Israel captured the Heights from Syria during the Six Day War in June, 1967, after the Syrian army used the strategic high ground overlooking the Galilee to attack Israeli towns and farms.

From 1967 to 1981, Israel administered the Golan Heights via military law, mirroring the system used in Judea, Samaria, and the Gaza Strip. Roughly two-thirds of the Golan Heights remained under Israeli control following the 1973 Yom Kippur War and creation of a demilitarized zone between Syria and Israel.

In 1981, however, the Menachem Begin government applied Israeli law directly to the Golan Heights with the Golan Heights Law, effectively annexing the territory to the State of Israel.

The United Nations and major world powers, including the US, Russia, and the European Union have hitherto refused to recognize Israel’s annexation of the Golan.

Since the outbreak of the Syrian civil war in 2011, however, some US lawmakers have called for the State Department to recognize Israel’s annexation of the Golan.

Last year, Senators Tom Cotton (R.-Arkansas) and Ted Cruz (R.-Texas) proposed a resolution endorsing recognition of the Golan as sovereign Israeli territory.

Earlier this month, the State Department signaled a change in policy towards the Golan, dropping references to the “Israeli-occupied Golan”, referring to the territory instead with the more neutral phrase “Israeli-controlled”.

The move drew criticism, however, from former United States Ambassador to Israel Martin Indyk, who said the Golan Heights are “Syrian territory.”

“Like it or not, the Golan Heights are Syrian territory.”

“Israel cannot give them up now given its legitimate security concerns. But to recognize Israel’s annexation of territory that is not its own is to play with fire for partisan political purposes. No Arab state will accept it,” Indyk tweeted.

“It would also contravene the 1974 Israel-Syria Disengagement Agreement, which Netanyahu and Putin recently invoked to govern the resumption of Syrian government responsibilities on the Golan border with Israel.” (Click to Source)

Christians, Stop Saying Jesus is the Son of God, it Provokes Muslims

Muslims

Buried in the concluding paragraphs of a Christmas Eve Washington Times report about Muslims in Uganda forcing Christians to convert to Islam was the extraordinary revelation that in that country, Muslims now consider any public statement of the Christian Faith to be a calculated insult to Muslims, for which they can justifiably exact revenge.

This is, or should be, sobering news for the comfortable Christians of the West who have made an idol out of “interfaith dialogue” and fastidiously avoid saying anything remotely critical about Islam, even as the Muslim persecution of Christians continues worldwide.

“In June,” the Times reported, “a group of Muslims attacked Christian preachers in eastern Uganda during a ‘crusade,’ where Christians publicly profess their faith and invite others to join. Muslims in the town accused the Christians of mocking Islam by publicly saying Jesus was the Son of God.”

In response, said Christian pastor Moses Saku, the Muslims became violent: “They became very angry and began throwing rocks at Christians, chanting ‘Allah Akbar.’ Many Christians were injured during the incident.”

The Christians appealed to the Muslims to have respect for those of other faith; the Muslims responded with contempt. One Muslim, Abubakar Yusuf, declared: “We have now declared a jihad against them. We are not going to allow anybody to despise Islamic teachings at their church or crusade. We will seek revenge.”

How did the Christians “despise Islamic teachings”? By preaching aspects of Christianity, such as the divinity of Christ, that Islam denies. The Christians, knowing how delicate their situation was, would never have dreamed of actually saying something critical about Islam itself; but to the Muslims who heard them, just enunciating the tenets of their Christian faith was criticism enough. And they refused to stand for it.

A few years ago, when jihadis attacked AFDI’s Muhammad Art Exhibit and Cartoon Contest in Garland, Texas, some Christians castigated me for co-sponsoring and speaking at the event. They said that Pamela Geller and I, as co-organizers of the event, were being needlessly provocative, poking Muslims in the eye, goading them, etc.

These charitable and enlightened Christians said that Christians should instead be deferential to others’ religious sensibilities. At the time, I responded to these people by explaining that giving in to violent intimidation (our event was a response to the jihad murder of the Charlie Hebdo Muhammad cartoonists in Paris) would only encourage more violent intimidation, and that given the fact that Muslims frequently found even basic expressions of Christian faith to be “provocative,” they were effectively cutting the ground out from under themselves and their children, making it impossible for them to practice Christianity in the future.

These incidents in Uganda are proof that this was correct. In declaring jihad and stating that the Muslims were now on a quest for revenge, Abubakar Yusuf and the Muslims who agree with him are in effect saying that the public expression of the Christian Faith mocks Islam and despises Islamic teachings. Abubakar Yusuf’s announcement that the Muslims had “declared jihad” against the Christians and would “seek revenge” against them was tantamount to a declaration that the Christians must submit to the hegemony of the Muslims, not daring to practice their faith openly, but only in private, behind closed door, and at the sufferance of their Muslim overlords.

This is exactly the status that Islamic law prescribes for Christians in lands governed by Islamic law, and so it is clear that Abubakar Yusuf is no lone fanatic, but is enunciating what many Muslims in Uganda believe to be only right and proper.

The lesson is clear, and not just for Uganda. If the advice of the cosseted, suburban Western Christians who were excoriating me for the Garland event is to be heeded, Christians should make no public expression of their faith at all, and convert to Islam, so as to avoid mocking, provoking, and offending Muslims, and poking them in the eye.

And when it comes to it, that is most likely the exact thing that those Christians will do. (Click to Source)

Plague Epidemic In Madagascar

secretsinthebones_plague

The same plague known as the Black Death centuries ago has hit the capital of Madagascar, Antananarivo, and other populated cities, setting off a panic.

As of last Monday, 387 cases were reported.

It took two weeks after the initial onset of the disease to detect it, which hinders treatment and control.

The plague currently spreading in Madagascar is pneumonic, which spreads rapidly through coughing and it can kill within 24 hours.

Some people die of the plague every year, although this deadly form of plague in Madagascar has spread rapidly without detection.

The World Health Organization (WHO) delivered 1.2 million doses of antibiotics to fight the disease, even so, WHO reports the risk of spread throughout Madagascar is high because the country is impoverished and they lack critical medical supplies, such as protective garments to prevent infection.

The Word of God tells us concerning the time of the Lord’s return,

“Nation shall rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and there shall be famines, pestilences and earthquakes in diverse places” Matthew 24:7.

This news, together with the recent news that antibiotics are becoming less effective against disease, is very troubling, if one doesn’t know the Prince of Peace.

God always gives His people peace in the midst of the storm, which is one of the benefits of knowing God and accepting salvation through His Son, Jesus.

“Great peace have they which love Your (God’s) law and nothing shall offend them” Psalms 119:165 (emphasis added).

I wouldn’t sell my peace for a million dollars. If you don’t have that kind of peace, wouldn’t you like to have it?

You can have perfect peace, even in the middle of the worst situation, just repent and surrender your life and your will to God, and He will give you great peace!

Jesus said,

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you, not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” John 14:27.
