Your Daily Readings – Verse of the Day – 2 Corinthians 5:18 – The Scriptures by Institute For Scripture Research – 2009 Edition – July 7, 2020

2 Corinthians 5

That in his assured hope of immortal glory
1 For we know that if the tent of our earthly house is destroyed, we have a building from Elohim, a house not made with hands, everlasting in the heavens. 2 For indeed in this we groan, longing to put on our dwelling which is from heaven, 3 so that, having put it on, we shall not be found naked. 4 For indeed, we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we wish to put it off, but to put on the other, so that what is to die might be swallowed up by life.
5 Now He who has prepared us for this same purpose is Elohim, who has given us the Spirit as a pledge of what is to come. 6 Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Master – 7 for we walk by belief, not by sight (a) – Footnote: a See 2Co 4:18 and 1Co 2:14. 8 we are of good courage, and are well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Master.
and in expectation of it, and of the general judgment, he labours to keep a good conscience
9 So we also make it our aim to be well-pleasing to Him, whether being at home, or being away from home. 10 For we all have to appear before the judgment seat of Messiah, in order for each one to receive according to what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.(b) Footnote: b See Mat 16:27, Joh 5:29.
11 Knowing, therefore, the fear of יהוה (Yahshua, Jesus), we persuade men, but we have been made manifest to Elohim, and I also trust in your consciences to have been manifested.
not that he may herein boast of himself
12 For we do not again commend ourselves to you, but give you an occasion to boast on our behalf, in order that you have an answer for those who take pride in appearance and not in heart. 13 For whether we are beside ourselves, it was for Elohim, or whether we are of sound mind, it is for you.
but as one that, having received life from Christ, endeavours to live as a new creature to Christ only
14 For the love of Messiah compels us, having judged this: that if One died for all, then all died; 15 and He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves,(c )but for Him who died for them, and was raised. Footnote: c Rom 14:7-8, Gal 2:20. 16 So from now onwards we know no one according to the flesh. And if we have known Messiah according to the flesh, yet now we no longer know Him thus. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Messiah, he is a renewed creature – the old matters have passed away, see, all matters have become renewed!d Footnote: dRom 6:2-22, Gal 2:20, Eph 4:22-24, Col 3:10, 1Jn 3:9-10.
and by his ministry of reconciliation, to reconcile others also in Christ to God
18 And all matters are from Elohim, who has restored us to favour with Himself through יהושע (Yahshua, Jesus) Messiah, and has given us the service of restoration to favour, 19 that is, that Elohim was in Messiah restoring the world to favour unto Himself, not reckoning their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of restoration to favour. 20 Therefore we are envoys on behalf of Messiah, as though Elohim were pleading through us. We beg, on behalf of Messiah: Be restored to favour with Elohim. 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of Elohim.

Your Daily Readings – Verse of the Day – Matthew 6:34 – The Scriptures by Institute For Scripture Research – 2009 Edition – July 5, 2020

Matthew 6

1 “Beware of doing your kind deeds before men, in order to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in the heavens. 2 “Thus, when you do a kind deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do, in the congregations and in the streets, to be praised by men. Truly, I say to you, they have their reward. 3 “But when you do a kind deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your kind deed shall be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret shall Himself reward you openly.
5 “And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the congregations and on the corners of the streets, to be seen by men. Truly, I say to you, they have their reward. 6 “But you, when you pray, go into your room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place. And your Father who sees in secret shall reward you openly.
7 “And when praying, do not keep on babbling like the nations. For they think that they shall be heard for their many words. 8 “Therefore do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.
9 “This, then, is the way you should pray: ‘Our Father who is in the heavens, let Your Name be set-apart,
10 let Your reign come, let Your desire be done on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 ‘And do not lead us into trial,(a) but deliver us from the wicked one – because Yours is the reign and the power and the esteem, forever. Amĕn.’ Footnote: a See Mat 26:41.
14 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father shall also forgive you. 15 “But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither shall your Father forgive your trespasses.
16 “And when you fast, do not be sad-faced like the hypocrites. For they disfigure their faces so that they appear to be fasting to men. Truly, I say to you, they have their reward. 17 “But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, 18 so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place. And your Father who sees in secret shall reward you openly.
19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 “For where your treasure is, there your heart shall be also. 22 “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, all your body shall be enlightened. 23 “But if your eye is evil,(b) all your body shall be darkened. If, then, the light that is within you is darkness, how great is that darkness! Footnote: b This is a Hebrew idiom – a good eye means to be generous, while an evil eye means to be stingy. 24 “No one is able to serve two masters, for either he shall hate the one and love the other, or else he shall cleave to the one and despise the other. You are not able to serve Elohim and mammon.(c) Footnote: c Personification of wealth.
25 “Because of this I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you shall eat or drink, or about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life more than the food and the body more than the clothing? 26 “Look at the birds of the heaven, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into storehouses, yet your heavenly Father does feed them. Are you not worth more than they? 27 “And which of you by worrying is able to add one cubit to his life’s span? 28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Note well the lilies of the field, how they grow. They neither toil nor spin, 29 and I say to you that even Shelomoh in all his esteem was not dressed like one of these. 30 “But if Elohim so clothes the grass of the field, which exists today, and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, how much more you, O you of little belief? 31 “Do not worry then, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 “For all these the nations seek for. And your heavenly Father knows that you need all these.
but to seek God’s kingdom
33 “But seek first the reign of Elohim, and His righteousness, and all these shall be added to you. 34 “Do not, then, worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow shall have its own worries. Each day has enough evil of itself.

Bill’s Daily Readings – Verse of the Day – Psalms 104:1-7 – The Scriptures by Institute For Scripture Research – 2009 Edition – July 3, 2020

Psalms 104

1 Bless יהוה (Yahweh), O my being! O יהוה (Yahweh) my Elohim, You have been very great: You have put on excellency and splendour,
2 Covering Yourself with light as with a garment, Stretching out the heavens like a curtain,
3 Who is laying the beams of His upper rooms in the waters, Who is making thick clouds His chariot, Who is walking on the wings of the wind,
4 Making His messengers the winds, His servants a flame of fire.
5 He established the earth on its foundations, So that it would not totter forever,
6 You covered it with the deep as with a garment; The waters stood above the mountains.
and wonderful providence of Elohim-God
7 At Your rebuke they flee; At the voice of Your thunder they hurry away.
8 They go up the mountains; They go down the valleys, To the place which You founded for them.
9 You did set a boundary, they do not pass over, They do not return to cover the earth.
10 Who is sending the springs into the valleys, They flow among the hills.
11 They give drink to every beast of the field; Wild donkeys break their thirst.
12 The birds of the heavens dwell beside them; They sing from between the branches.
13 Watering the hills from His upper rooms; The earth is satisfied with the fruit of Your works.
14 Causing the grass to grow for the cattle, And plants for the service of mankind, To bring forth food from the earth,
15 And wine that makes glad the heart of man, Oil to make the face shine, And bread which sustains man’s heart.
16 The trees of יהוה (Yahweh) are satisfied, The cedars of Leḇanon which He planted,
17 Where the birds do make nests; The stork has her home in the fir trees.
18 The high hills are for wild goats; Rocks a refuge for rock badgers.
19 He made the moon for appointed times; The sun knows its going down.
20 You put darkness, and it is night, In it all the beasts of the forest creep.
21 The young lions are roaring for prey, And seeking their food from Ěl.
22 The sun arises – they withdraw And lie down in their dens.
23 Man goes out to his work, And to his labour, till evening.
24 O יהוה (Yahweh), how many have been Your works! You have made all of them in wisdom. The earth is filled with Your possessions.
25 There is the sea, great and wide, In which are innumerable swarms, Living creatures, small with great.
26 There do ships go; That Liwiathan which You made, to play there.
27 All of them wait for You, To give their food in due season.
28 You give to them, they gather in; You open Your hand, they are satisfied with good.
29 You hide Your face, they are alarmed; You take away their breath, they die and return to their dust;
30 You send forth Your Spirit, they are created; And You renew the face of the earth.
God’s glory is eternal
31 The esteem of יהוה (Yahweh) is forever, יהוה (Yahweh) rejoices in His works,
32 Who looks on the earth, and it trembles; He touches the mountains, and they smoke.
The prophet vows perpetually to praise God
33 I sing to יהוה (Yahweh) as long as I live, I sing praise to my Elohim while I exist.
34 My meditation on Him is sweet; I rejoice in יהוה (Yahweh) .
35 Let sinners be consumed from the earth, And let the wrong be no more. Bless יהוה (Yahweh) , O my being! Praise Yah!

Your Daily Readings – Verse of the Day – Philippians 3:12 – 14 – The Scriptures by Institute For Scripture Research – 2009 Edition – July 3, 2020

Philippians 3

Phil 3:1 For the rest, my brothers, rejoice in יהוה (Yahshua, Jesus). To write the same matters to you is truly no trouble to me, and for you it is safe.
Phil 3:2 Look out for dogs, look out for the evil workers, look out for the mutilation!
Phil 3:3 For we are the circumcision, who are serving Elohim in the Spirit, and boasting in Messiah יהושע (Yahshua, Jesus), and do not trust in the flesh,
Phil 3:4 though I too might have trust in the flesh. If anyone else thinks to trust in the flesh, I more –
Phil 3:5 circumcised the eighth day, of the race of Yisra’ĕl, of the tribe of Binyamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews, according to Torah a Pharisee,
Phil 3:6 according to ardour, persecuting the assembly; according to righteousness that is in the law, having become blameless.
Phil 3:7 But what might have been a gain to me, I have counted as loss, because of Messiah.
Phil 3:8 What is more, I even count all to be loss because of the excellence of the knowledge of Messiah יהושע (Yahshua, Jesus) my Master, for whom I have suffered the loss of all, and count them as refuse, in order to gain Messiah,
Phil 3:9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through belief in Messiah, the righteousness which is from Elohim on the basis of belief,
Phil 3:10 to know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,
Phil 3:11 if somehow I might attain to the resurrection from the dead.
Phil 3:12 Not that I have already received, or already been perfected, but I press on, to lay hold of that for which Messiah יהושע (Yahshua, Jesus) has also laid hold of me.
Phil 3:13 Brothers, I do not count myself to have laid hold of it yet, but only this: forgetting what is behind and reaching out for what lies ahead,
Phil 3:14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of Elohim in Messiah יהושע (Yahshua, Jesus).
Phil 3:15 As many, then, as are perfect, should have this mind. And if you think differently in any respect, Elohim shall also reveal this to you.
Phil 3:16 But to what we have already attained – walk by the same rule, be of the same mind.
Phil 3:17 Become joint imitators of me, brothers, and look at those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern.
Phil 3:18 For many – of whom I have often told you, and now say to you even weeping – walk as enemies of the stake of Messiah.
Phil 3:19 Their end is destruction, their mighty one is their stomach, and their esteem is in their shame – they mind the earthly.
Phil 3:20 For our citizenship is in the heavens, from which we also eagerly wait for the Saviour, the Master יהושע (Yahshua, Jesus) Messiah,
Phil 3:21 who shall change our lowly body, to be conformed to His esteemed body, according to the working by which He is able even to bring all under His control.

Your Daily Readings – Verse of the Day – Ephesians 3:16 – The Scriptures by Institute For Scripture Research – 2009 Edition – June 29, 2020

Ephesians 3

1 Because of this I, Sha’ul, am the prisoner of יהושע (Yahshua, Jesus) Messiah on behalf of you nations – 2 if indeed you have heard of the administration of the favour of Elohim that was given to me for you, 3 that by revelation was made known to me the secret, as I wrote before briefly. 4 In reading this, then, you are able to understand my insight into the secret of Messiah, 5 which was not made known to the sons of men in other generations, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His set-apart emissaries and prophets: 6 The nations to be co-heirs, united in the same body, and partakers together (a) in the promise in Messiah through the Good News, Footnote: a See Rom 11:17-24, Isa 14:1. 7 of which I became a servant according to the gift of the favour of Elohim given to me, according to the working of His power.
and to him was that grace given, that he should preach it
8 To me, the very least of all the set-apart ones, this favour was given, to bring the Good News of the unsearchable riches of Messiah among the nations, 9 and to make all see how this secret is administered, which for ages past has been hidden in Elohim who created all through יהושע (Yahshua, Jesus) Messiah,(b) Footnote: b See Joh 1:3. 10 so that now, through the assembly, the many-sided wisdom of Elohim might be known to the principalities and authorities in the heavenlies, 11 according to the everlasting purpose which He made in Messiah יהושע (Yahshua, Jesus) our Master, 12 in whom we have boldness and access, with reliance, through belief in Him.
He desires them not to faint for his tribulation
13 I pray therefore, that you do not lose heart at my pressures on your behalf, which is your esteem.
and prays that they may perceive the great love of Christ toward them
14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Master יהושע (Yahshua, Jesus) Messiah, 15 from whom all fatherhood (c) in the heavens and earth is named, Footnote: c Or lineage, or paternal descent. 16 in order that He might give you, according to the riches of His esteem by power, to be strengthened in the inner man, through His Spirit, 17 that the Messiah might dwell in your hearts (d) through belief – having become rooted and grounded in love, Footnote: d See Gal 2:20. 18 in order that you might be strengthened to firmly grasp, with all the set-apart ones, what is the width and length and depth and height, 19 to know the love of Messiah which surpasses knowledge, in order that you might be filled to all the completeness of Elohim.
20 And to Him who is able to do exceedingly above what we ask or think, according to the power that is working in us, 21 to Him be esteem in the assembly by Messiah יהושע (Yahshua, Jesus) unto all generations, for ever and ever. Amĕn.

Numbers 6

Num 6:1 And יהוה (Yahweh) spoke to Mosheh, saying,
Num 6:2 “Speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, and say to them, ‘When a man or woman does separate, by making a vow of a Nazirite, to be separate to יהוה (Yahweh) ,
Num 6:3 he separates himself from wine and strong drink – he drinks neither vinegar of wine nor vinegar of strong drink, neither does he drink any grape juice, nor eat grapes or raisins.
Num 6:4 All the days of his separation he does not eat whatever is made of the grapevine, from seed to skin.
Num 6:5 All the days of the vow of his separation a razor does not come upon his head. Until the days are completed for which he does separate himself to יהוה (Yahweh), he is set-apart. He shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow long.
Num 6:6 All the days of his separation to יהוה (Yahweh) he does not go near a dead body.
Num 6:7 He does not make himself unclean for his father, or for his mother, for his brother or his sister, when they die, because his separation to Elohim is on his head.
Num 6:8 All the days of his separation he is set-apart to יהוה (Yahweh).
Num 6:9 And when anyone dies beside him in an instant, suddenly, and he has defiled the head of his separation, then he shall shave his head on the day of his cleansing – on the seventh day he shaves it.
Num 6:10 And on the eighth day he brings two turtledoves or two young pigeons to the priest, to the door of the Tent of Appointment,
Num 6:11 and the priest shall prepare one as a sin offering and the other as an ascending offering, and shall make atonement for him, because he sinned by reason of the dead body. And he shall set apart his head on that day,
Num 6:12 and shall separate to יהוה (Yahweh) the days of his separation, and shall bring a male lamb a year old, as a guilt offering. But the former days are not counted, because his separation was defiled.
Num 6:13 And this is the Torah of the Nazirite: When the days of his separation are completed, he is brought to the door of the Tent of Appointment,
Num 6:14 and he shall bring his offering to יהוה (Yahweh): one male lamb a year old, a perfect one, as an ascending offering, and one ewe lamb a year old, a perfect one, as a sin offering, and one ram, a perfect one, as a peace offering,
Num 6:15 and a basket of unleavened bread, cakes of fine flour mixed with oil, and unleavened thin cakes anointed with oil, and their grain offering with their drink offerings.
Num 6:16 And the priest shall bring them before יהוה (Yahweh) and prepare his sin offering and his ascending offering.
Num 6:17 And he shall prepare the ram as a slaughtering of peace offerings to יהוה (Yahweh), together with the basket of unleavened bread. And the priest shall prepare its grain offering and its drink offering.
Num 6:18 And the Nazirite shall shave the head of his separation at the door of the Tent of Appointment, and shall take the hair from the head of his separation and shall put it on the fire which is under the slaughtering of the peace offerings.
Num 6:19 And the priest shall take the boiled shoulder of the ram, and one unleavened cake from the basket, and one unleavened thin cake, and put them upon the hands of the Nazirite after he has shaved his hair of separation.
Num 6:20 Then the priest shall wave them, a wave offering before יהוה (Yahweh). It is set-apart for the priest, besides the breast of the wave offering and besides the thigh of the contribution. And afterwards the Nazirite shall drink wine.’
Num 6:21 “This is the Torah of the Nazirite who vows to יהוה (Yahweh) the offering for his separation, and besides that, whatever else his hand is able to provide. According to the vow which he takes, so he shall do according to the Torah of his separation.”
Num 6:22 And יהוה (Yahweh) spoke to Mosheh, saying,
Num 6:23 “Speak to Aharon and his sons, saying, ‘This is how you bless the children of Yisra’ĕl. Say to them:
Num 6:24 “יהוה (Yahweh) bless you and guard you;
Num 6:25 יהוה (Yahweh) make His face shine upon you, and show favour to you;
Num 6:26 יהוה (Yahweh) lift up His face upon you, and give you peace.” ’
Num 6:27 “Thus they shall put My Name on the children of Yisra’ĕl, and I Myself shall bless them.”

Bill’s Daily Readings – Verse of the Day – Amos 8:11-12 – The Scriptures by Institute For Scripture Research – 2009 Edition – June 12, 2020

Amos 8

Amos 8:1 This is what the Master יהוה (Yahweh) showed me, and see, a basket of summer fruit.
Amos 8:2 And He said, “Amos, what do you see?” And I said, “A basket of summer fruit.” And יהוה (Yahweh) said to me, “The end has come upon my people Yisra’ĕl, no longer do I pardon them.
Amos 8:3 “And the songs of the Hĕḵal shall be wailing in that day,” declares the Master יהוה (Yahweh), “many dead bodies everywhere, thrown into any place – hush!”
Amos 8:4 Hear this, you who are swallowing up the needy, to do away with the poor of the land,
Amos 8:5 saying, “When does the New moon pass so that we sell grain, and the Sabbath so that we trade our wheat, to make the ĕphah small and the sheqel large, and to falsify the scales by deceit,
Amos 8:6 to buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of sandals, and sell the chaff of the wheat?”
Amos 8:7 יהוה (Yahweh) has sworn by the Excellency of Ya‛aqoḇ, “I shall never forget any of their works.
Amos 8:8 “Shall the land not tremble for this, and everyone mourn who dwells in it? And all of it shall swell like the River, heave and subside like the River of Mitsrayim.
Amos 8:9 “And it shall be in that day,” declares the Master יהוה (Yahweh), “that I shall cause the sun to go down at noon, and shall darken the earth on a day of brightness,
Amos 8:10 and shall turn your festivals into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation, and bring sackcloth on all loins, and baldness on every head, and shall make it like mourning for an only son, and its end like a day of bitterness.
Amos 8:11 “See, days are coming,” declares the Master יהוה (Yahweh), “that I shall send a hunger in the land, not a hunger for bread, nor a thirst for water, but for hearing the Words of יהוה (Yahweh).
Amos 8:12 “And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from north to east – they shall diligently search, seeking the Word of יהוה (Yahweh), but they shall not find it.(a) Footnote: a Jer 5:13, Hos 8:12, Eze 34:3-10.
Amos 8:13 “In that day the beautiful maidens and strong young men shall faint from thirst,
Amos 8:14 those swearing by the guilt of Shomeron, who say, ‘As your mighty one lives, O Dan!’ and, ‘As the way of Be’ĕrsheḇa lives!’ And they shall fall and never rise again.”

Bill’s Daily Readings – Verse of the Day – Deuteronomy 5:2-5 – The Scriptures by Institute For Scripture Research – 2009 Edition – June 1, 2020

Deuteronomy 5

Deut 5:1 And Mosheh called all Yisra’ĕl, and said to them, “Hear, O Yisra’ĕl, the laws and right-rulings which I speak in your hearing today. And you shall learn them, and guard to do them.
Deut 5:2 “יהוה (Yahweh) our Elohim made a covenant with us in Ḥorĕḇ.
Deut 5:3 “יהוה (Yahweh) did not make this covenant with our fathers, but with us, those who are here today, all of us who are alive.
Deut 5:4 “יהוה (Yahweh) spoke with you face to face on the mountain from the midst of the fire.
Deut 5:5 “I stood between יהוה (Yahweh) and you at that time, to declare to you the Word of יהוה (Yahweh) – for you were afraid because of the fire, and you did not go up the mountain – saying:
Deut 5:6 I am יהוה (Yahweh) your Elohim who brought you out of the land of Mitsrayim, out of the house of bondage.
Deut 5:7 You have no other mighty ones against My face.
Deut 5:8 You do not make for yourself a carved image, any likeness of which is in the heavens above, or which is in the earth beneath, or which is in the waters under the earth,
Deut 5:9 you do not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, יהוה (Yahweh) your Elohim, am a jealous Ěl, visiting the crookedness of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,
Deut 5:10 but showing loving-commitment to thousands, to those who love Me and guard My commands.
Deut 5:11 You do not bring (a( the Name of יהוה (Yahweh) your Elohim to naught, for יהוה (Yahweh) does not leave him unpunished who brings His Name to naught. Footnote: a Or lift up, or take.
Deut 5:12 Guard the Sabbath day, to set it apart, as יהוה (Yahweh) your Elohim commanded you.
Deut 5:13 Six days you labour, and shall do all your work,
Deut 5:14 but the seventh day is a Sabbath (b) of יהוה (Yahweh) your Elohim. You do not do any work – you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates, so that your male servant and your female servant rest as you do. Footnote: b See footnote at Exo 20:10.
Deut 5:15 And you shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Mitsrayim, and that יהוה (Yahweh) your Elohim brought you out from there by a strong hand and by an outstretched arm. Therefore יהוה (Yahweh) your Elohim commanded you to perform the Sabbath day.
Deut 5:16 Respect your father and your mother, as יהוה (Yahweh) your Elohim has commanded you, so that your days are prolonged, and so that it is well with you on the soil which יהוה (Yahweh) your Elohim is giving you.
Deut 5:17 You do not murder.
Deut 5:18 You do not commit adultery.
Deut 5:19 You do not steal.
Deut 5:20 You do not bear false witness against your neighbour.
Deut 5:21 You do not covet your neighbour’s wife, nor do you desire your neighbour’s house, his field, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, his ox, nor his donkey, or whatever belongs to your neighbour.’
Deut 5:22 “These Words (c) יהוה (Yahweh) spoke to all your assembly, in the mountain from the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a loud voice, and He added no more. And He wrote them on two tablets of stone and gave them to me. Footnote: c “Word(s)” is very often used as a synonym for “command(s),” in the Messianic Writings too.
Deut 5:23 “And it came to be, when you heard the voice from the midst of the darkness, while the mountain was burning with fire, that you came near to me, all the heads of your tribes and your elders,
Deut 5:24 and said, ‘See, יהוה (Yahweh) our Elohim has shown us His esteem and His greatness, and we have heard His voice from the midst of the fire. Today we have seen that Elohim speaks with man – and he lives!
Deut 5:25 And now why should we die? For this great fire is consuming us. If we hear the voice of יהוה (Yahweh) our Elohim any more, then we shall die.
Deut 5:26 For who is there of all flesh who has heard the voice of the living Elohim speaking from the midst of the fire, as we have, and does live?
Deut 5:27 You go near and hear all that יהוה (Yahweh) our Elohim says, and speak to us all that יהוה (Yahweh) our Elohim says to you, and we shall hear and do it.’
Deut 5:28 “And יהוה (Yahweh) heard the voice of your words when you spoke to me, and יהוה (Yahweh) said to me, ‘I have heard the voice of the words of this people which they have spoken to you. They have done well in all that they have spoken.
Deut 5:29 Oh, that they had such a heart in them, to fear Me and to guard all My commands always, so that it might be well with them and with their children forever!
Deut 5:30 Go, say to them, “Return to your tents.”
Deut 5:31 But you, stand here by Me, and let Me speak to you all the commands, and the laws, and the right-rulings which you are to teach them. And they shall do them in the land which I am giving them to possess.’
Deut 5:32 “And you shall guard to do as יהוה (Yahweh) your Elohim has commanded you – do not turn aside, to the right or to the left.
Deut 5:33 “Walk in all the ways which יהוה (Yahweh) your Elohim has commanded you, so that you live and it be well with you. And you shall prolong your days in the land which you possess.
