Your Daily Readings – Verse of the Day – Luke 17:33 – The Scriptures by Institute For Scripture Research – 2009 Edition – May 24, 2020

Luke 17

Luke 17:1 And He said to the taught ones, “It is inevitable that stumbling-blocks should come, but woe to him through whom they come!
Luke 17:2 “It would be better for him if a millstone is put around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble.
Luke 17:3 “Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him.
Luke 17:4 “And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day comes back to you, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.”
Luke 17:5 And the emissaries said to the Master, “Give us more belief.”
Luke 17:6 And the Master said, “If you have belief as a mustard seed, you would say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.
Luke 17:7 “But who of you, having a servant ploughing or shepherding, would say to him when he has come in from the field, ‘Come immediately and sit down to eat’?
Luke 17:8 “But would he not rather say to him, ‘Prepare somewhat for my supper, and gird yourself and serve me while I eat and drink, and afterward you shall eat and drink’?
Luke 17:9 “Would he thank that servant because he did what he was commanded? I think not.
Luke 17:10 “So also you, when you have done all that you were commanded, say, ‘We are unworthy servants, we have done what was our duty to do.’ ”
Luke 17:11 And it came to be, as He went to Yerushalayim, that He passed through the midst of Shomeron and Galil.
Luke 17:12 And as He was entering into a certain village, He was met by ten leprous men, who stood at a distance.
Luke 17:13 And they lifted up their voices, saying, “יהושע (Yahshua, Jesus), Master, have compassion on us!”
Luke 17:14 And having seen them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And it came to be, that as they were going, they were cleansed.
Luke 17:15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, praising Elohim with a loud voice,
Luke 17:16 and he fell down upon his face at His feet, giving thanks to Him. And he was a Shomeroni.
Luke 17:17 And יהושע (Yahshua, Jesus) answering, said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine?
Luke 17:18 “Was no one found to return to give praise to Elohim, except this foreigner?” (a) Footnote: a The Greek word referring to this Shomeroni is allogenes, which means “of another race.”
Luke 17:19 And He said to him, “Rise, go your way. Your belief has made you well.”
Luke 17:20 And having been asked by the Pharisees when the reign of Elohim would come, He answered them and said, “The reign of Elohim does not come with intent watching,
Luke 17:21 nor shall they say, ‘Look here!’ or ‘Look there!’ For look, the reign of Elohim is in your midst!”
Luke 17:22 And He said to the taught ones, “Days shall come when you shall long to see one of the days of the Son of Aḏam, but you shall not see it.
Luke 17:23 “And they shall say to you, ‘Look here!’ or ‘Look there!’ Do not go after them, nor follow.
Luke 17:24 “For as the lightning that flashes out of one part under heaven shines to the other part under heaven, so also the Son of Aḏam shall be in His day.
Luke 17:25 “But first He has to suffer much and be rejected by this generation.
Luke 17:26 “And as it came to be in the days of Noaḥ, so also shall it be in the days of the Son of Aḏam:
Luke 17:27 “They were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noaḥ went into the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.
Luke 17:28 “And likewise, as it came to be in the days of Lot: They were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building,
Luke 17:29 but on the day Lot went out of Seḏom it rained fire and sulphur from heaven and destroyed all.
Luke 17:30 “It shall be the same in the day the Son of Aḏam is revealed.
Luke 17:31 “In that day, he who shall be on the house-top, and his goods in the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise the one who is in the field, let him not turn back.
Luke 17:32 “Remember the wife of Lot.
Luke 17:33 “Whoever seeks to save his life shall lose it, and whoever loses his life shall preserve it.
Luke 17:34 “I say to you, in that night there shall be two in one bed, the one shall be taken and the other shall be left.
Luke 17:35 “Two women shall be grinding together, the one shall be taken and the other shall be left.
Luke 17:36 “Two (b) shall be in the field, the one shall be taken and the other shall be left.” Footnote: b Mat 24:40. Some manuscripts do not contain this verse, 17:36.
Luke 17:37 And they answering, said to Him, “Where, Master?” And He said to them, “Where the body is, there also the vultures (c) shall be gathered together.” Footnote: c See Mat 24:28.

Your Daily Readings – Verse of the Day – 2 Peter 3:18 – The Scriptures by Institute For Scripture Research – 2009 Edition – May 18, 2020

2 Peter 3

2Pet 3:1 This is now, beloved ones, the second letter I write to you, in which I stir up your sincere mind, to remember
2Pet 3:2 the words previously spoken by the set-apart prophets, and of the command of the Master and Saviour, spoken by your emissaries,
2Pet 3:3 knowing this first: that mockers shall come in the last days with mocking, walking according to their own lusts,
2Pet 3:4 and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all continues as from the beginning of creation.”
2Pet 3:5 For they choose to have this hidden from them: that the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, by the Word of Elohim, (a) Footnote: a Heb 11:3.
2Pet 3:6 through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water.
2Pet 3:7 And the present heavens and the earth are treasured up by the same Word, being kept for fire, to a day of judgment and destruction of wicked men.
2Pet 3:8 But, beloved ones, let not this one matter be hidden from you: that with יהוה (Yahweh) one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. Psa 90:4.
2Pet 3:9 יהוה (Yahweh) is not slow in regard to the promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward us, not wishing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.(b) Footnote: b 1Ti 2:4.
2Pet 3:10 But the day of יהוה (Yahweh) shall come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with intense heat, and the earth and the works that are in it shall be burned up.
2Pet 3:11 Seeing all these are to be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be in set-apart behaviour and reverence,
2Pet 3:12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of Elohim, through which the heavens shall be destroyed, being set on fire, and the elements melt with intense heat!
2Pet 3:13 But according to His promise we wait for a renewed heavens and a renewed earth Isa 65:17, Isa 66:22 in which righteousness dwells.
2Pet 3:14 So then, beloved ones, looking forward to this, do your utmost to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless,
2Pet 3:15 and reckon the patience of our Master as deliverance, as also our beloved brother Sha’ul wrote to you, according to the wisdom given to him,
2Pet 3:16 as also in all his letters, speaking in them concerning these matters, in which some are hard to understand, (c) which those who are untaught and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do also the other Scriptures. Footnote: c See 2Co 11:6.
2Pet 3:17 You, then, beloved ones, being forewarned, watch, lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the delusion of the lawless,
2Pet 3:18 but grow in the favour and knowledge of our Master and Saviour יהושע (Yahshua, Jesus) Messiah. To Him be the esteem both now and to a day that abides. Amĕn.

Your Daily Readings – Verse of the Day – Matthew 22:37 – 38 – The Scriptures by Institute For Scripture Research – 2009 Edition – April 24, 2020

Matthew 22

Matt 22:1 And יהושע (Yahshua, Jesus) responded and spoke to them again by parables and said,
Matt 22:2 “The reign of the heavens is like a man, a sovereign, who made a wedding feast for his son,
Matt 22:3 and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding feast. But they would not come.
Matt 22:4 “Again he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Say to those who are invited, “See, I have prepared my dinner. My oxen and fattened cattle are slaughtered, and all is ready. Come to the wedding feast.” ’
Matt 22:5 “But they disregarded it and went their way – this one to his field, that one to his trade.
Matt 22:6 “And the rest, having seized his servants, insulted and killed them.
Matt 22:7 “But when the sovereign heard, he was wroth, and sent out his soldiers, destroyed those murderers, and set their city on fire.
Matt 22:8 “Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding feast, indeed, is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy.
Matt 22:9 Therefore go into the street corners, and as many as you find, invite to the wedding feast.’
Matt 22:10 “And those servants went out into the street corners and gathered all whom they found, both wicked and good. And the wedding hall was filled with guests.
Matt 22:11 “And when the sovereign came in to view the guests, he saw there a man who had not put on a wedding garment,
Matt 22:12 and he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here not having a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless.
Matt 22:13 “Then the sovereign said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and throw him out into the outer darkness – there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
Matt 22:14 “For many are called, but few are chosen.”(a) Footnote: a See Mat 20:16.
Matt 22:15 Then the Pharisees went and plotted how to trap Him in His words.
Matt 22:16 And they sent to Him their taught ones with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that You are true, and teach the way of Elohim in truth, and it does not concern You about anyone, for You are not partial to any man.
Matt 22:17 “Then say to us, what do You think? Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”
Matt 22:18 But knowing their wickedness, יהושע (Yahshua, Jesus) said, “Why do you try Me, you hypocrites?
Matt 22:19 “Show Me the coin of the tax.” And they brought Him a denarius. (b) Footnote: b Roman monetary unit.
Matt 22:20 And He said to them, “Whose likeness and inscription is this?”
Matt 22:21 They said to Him, “Caesar’s.” And He said to them, “Then give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to Elohim what is Elohim’s.”
Matt 22:22 And having heard, they marvelled, and left Him and went away.
Matt 22:23 On that day Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to Him and asked Him,
Matt 22:24 saying, “Teacher, Mosheh said that if anyone should die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise offspring for his brother. Deu 25:5.
Matt 22:25 “And there were with us seven brothers, and the first died after he had married, and having no children, left his wife to his brother.
Matt 22:26 “In the same way the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.
Matt 22:27 “And last of all the woman died too.
Matt 22:28 “At the resurrection, then, whose wife of the seven shall she be – for all had her?”
Matt 22:29 And יהושע (Yahshua, Jesus) answering, said to them, “You go astray, not knowing the Scriptures (c) nor the power of Elohim. Footnote: c Mar 12:24.
Matt 22:30 “For in the resurrection they do not marry, nor are they given in marriage, but are as messengers of Elohim in heaven.
Matt 22:31 “And concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by Elohim, saying,
Matt 22:32 ‘I am the Elohim of Aḇraham, and the Elohim of Yitsḥaq, and the Elohim of Ya‛aqoḇ’? Exo 3:6. Elohim is not the Elohim of the dead, but of the living.”
Matt 22:33 And when the crowds heard, they were astonished at His teaching.
Matt 22:34 But the Pharisees, having heard that He had silenced the Sadducees, were gathered together,
Matt 22:35 and one of them, one learned in the Torah, did question, trying Him, and saying,
Matt 22:36 “Teacher, which is the great command in the Torah?”
Matt 22:37 And יהושע (Yahshua, Jesus) said to him, “ ‘You shall love יהוה (Yahweh) your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your mind.’ Deu 6:5.
Matt 22:38 “This is the first and great command.
Matt 22:39 “And the second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ Lev 19:18.
Matt 22:40 “On these two commands hang all the Torah and the Prophets.”
Matt 22:41 And when the Pharisees were gathered together, יהושע (Yahshua, Jesus) asked them,
Matt 22:42 saying, “What do you think concerning the Messiah? Whose Son is He?” They said to Him, “The Son of Dawiḏ.”
Matt 22:43 He said to them, “Then how does Dawiḏ in the Spirit call Him ‘Master,’ saying,
Matt 22:44 ‘יהוה (Yahweh) said to my Master, “Sit at My right hand, until I make Your enemies a footstool of Your feet” ’? Psa 110:1.
Matt 22:45 “If then Dawiḏ calls Him ‘Master,’ how is He his Son?”
Matt 22:46 And no one was able to answer Him a word, and from that day on no one was bold enough to ask Him any more questions.

EXODUS 20

Exod 20:1 And Elohim spoke all these Words, saying,
Exod 20:2 “I am יהוה (Yahweh) your Elohim, who brought you out of the land of Mitsrayim, out of the house of slavery.
Exod 20:3 “You have no other mighty ones against My face.
Exod 20:4 “You do not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of that which is in the heavens above, or which is in the earth beneath, or which is in the waters under the earth,
Exod 20:5 you do not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, יהוה (Yahweh) your Elohim am a jealous Ěl, visiting the crookedness of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,
Exod 20:6 but showing loving-commitment to thousands, to those who love Me and guard My commands.
Exod 20:7 “You do not bring (a) the Name of יהוה (Yahweh) your Elohim to naught, for יהוה (Yahweh) does not leave the one unpunished who brings His Name to naught. Footnote: a Or lift up, or take.
Exod 20:8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to set it apart.
Exod 20:9 “Six days you labour, and shall do all your work,
Exod 20:10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath (b) of יהוה (Yahweh) your Elohim. Footnote: b There are other Sabbaths, but this is the weekly Sabbath.
Exod 20:11 “For in six days יהוה (Yahweh) made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore יהוה (Yahweh) blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart.

Exod 20:18 And all the people saw the thunders, the lightning flashes, the voice of the shophar, and the mountain smoking. And the people saw it, and they trembled and stood at a distance,
Exod 20:19 and said to Mosheh, “You speak with us and we hear, but let not Elohim speak with us, lest we die.”
Exod 20:20 And Mosheh said to the people, “Do not fear, for Elohim has come to prove you, and in order that His fear be before you, so that you do not sin.”
Exod 20:21 So the people stood at a distance, but Mosheh drew near the thick darkness where Elohim was.
Exod 20:22 And יהוה (Yahweh) said to Mosheh, “Say this to the children of Yisra’ĕl: ‘You yourselves have seen that I have spoken to you from the heavens.
Exod 20:23 ‘You do not make besides Me mighty ones of silver, and you do not make mighty ones of gold for yourselves.

Exod 20:25 ‘And if you make Me a slaughter-place of stone, do not build it of cut stone, for if you use your chisel on it, you have profaned it.
Exod 20:26 ‘Nor do you go up by steps to My slaughter-place, lest your nakedness be exposed on it.’
