In his sermon at the Islamic Center, Shahin quoted, in Arabic, one of the most notorious antisemitic hadiths (teachings of Muhammad) — one quoted by the Hamas charter — in which Muslims are called upon to kill the Jews to bring about Judgment Day, and in which Muhammad is said to prophesy that the Jews will try to hide behind rocks and trees, which will call out to Muslims to kill them.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Just as you don’t get mad at the shark when he bites you while you’re swimming in the ocean, you cannot get mad at Muslims for calling for “death for all Jews”. It’s what they drink, sleep, eat, believe and dream about. There is nothing in this entire world the average Muslim wants more than the complete annihilation of all Jews everywhere. This is what Islam is based on, what the Qu’ran teaches and what Mohammed advocated. It’s a religion of death, started by devils, and calling for destruction. Metal Detectors and Palestinian Lies


  • The slain police officers were stationed there to ensure the safety of Muslim worshippers. The Palestinian spin doctors are attempting to divert attention from the terror attack by making it look as if the crisis began when Israel installed the metal detectors and not when two police officers were murdered.
  • First, the security measures, including the placement of the metal detectors, was not an Israeli initiative but came as a direct and necessary response to a specific terror attack. The Israeli government did not convene and take a decision to install the metal detectors in order to alter the status quo or stop Muslims from praying.
  • Second, it was the Palestinians who took the decision not to enter into the Temple Mount unless the metal detectors are removed. The Palestinians and the Waqf are lying to the world by telling it that Israel is denying Muslims access to their holy sites.
  • The Palestinian opposition to the metal detectors at the Temple Mount means one thing only: that the Palestinians are determined to turn the holy site into a weapons cache and use it as a launching pad to carry out terror attacks against Israelis. If the mosque were then actually destroyed in the process, guess who would be blamed? Possibly that is even the real agenda.

The controversy surrounding the Israeli authorities’ decision to place metal detectors at the gates of the Temple Mount calls to mind the famous Arab saying, “he beat me and cried then came to me to complain.” This inversion of reality is a common among perpetrators who pretend to be victims.

The decision to install the metal detectors came after Arab terrorists murdered two Israeli police officers at the Temple Mount on July 14. The three terrorists — Israeli Arab citizens from the city of Umm al-Fahm — used a submachine gun and knives to carry out their attack. The weapons were easily smuggled into the Temple Mount thanks to Muslim worshippers not having been required to pass through metal detectors or undergo body searches by policemen stationed at the gates.

Incredibly, the Palestinians have since been waging daily protests against the new Israeli security measures, demanding that the metal detectors be removed from the entrances to the Temple Mount. As part of the protests, Palestinian leaders have urged Muslim worshippers not to enter the Temple Mount through the metal detectors and instead to pray at the entrances to the holy site.

The Palestinian Authority (PA), Jordan and other Arab and Islamic countries are accusing Israel of violating the status quo at the Temple Mount by installing the metal detectors.

One listens in vain for a denouncement of the terrorists who murdered the two Israeli police officers — these are the people responsible for defiling the sanctity of the holy site.

We also hear no condemnation of the murder of the officers, who belong to the Druze community in Israel and who were entrusted with preserving law and order at the Temple Mount. The slain officers were stationed there to ensure the safety of Muslim worshippers.

On the contrary — many Palestinians and Arabs have applauded the terror attack as a “heroic operation” against the “Zionist enemy.” The three terrorists, who were killed by Israeli policemen during the attack, are being hailed as “martyrs” and “heroes” who sacrificed their lives in defense of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Sadly, many Israeli Arab leaders have refused to condemn the terror attack carried out by three of their fellow citizens.

The metal detectors have one goal: to prevent terrorists from smuggling weapons into the Temple Mount. That is the act that should be viewed as a desecration of a holy site. (Click to Site)

Legislation preventing the division of Jerusalem in a possible peace deal is advancing through the Knesset, making it increasingly unlikely that the holy city will become a Palestinian capital in the future.

Nicknamed the “United Jerusalem Bill”, the bill was approved on Sunday morning by the Ministerial Committee for Legislation, allowing it to continue through to the Knesset floor.

First proposed by Education Minister Naftali Bennett (Jewish Home), the bill places a large legal stumbling block before any parties hoping to split Jerusalem into separate Israeli and Palestinian territories in pursuit of a peace deal.

If the bill is passed, a supermajority, or three-fourths, of Knesset members will be required to approve any negotiations calling for Jerusalem’s division, rather than the usual majority. Gaining the approval of three-fourths of the Knesset would be a difficult task. (Click to Site)

On The Edge of Destiny
We come to the end of the Book of Numbers this week. Forty years have passed since Israel stood on the bank of the Red Sea. All that stands between the Hebrews and their destiny is another river, a war with the Midyanim, a few instructions to get to the end of Numbers and a pretty long sermon by Pastor Moshe. Oh yea, and Pastor Moshe has to die.
Imagine the thoughts running through the minds of the Hebrews here. They are on the edge of their future. Yet there is one major requirement given by Yah before crossing; a battle. Destroy the Midyanim! Why not just enter the Land then deal with these wicked people? Of course the answer, I am sure has many levels of meaning. Let us examine the base level. It was the women of Midyanim who caused 24,000 Hebrew men to die in a plague. We ask, “Who sent those Midyanim women into the camp in the first place?” Sadly, it was the Midyanim men, their spiritual leaders. Men, whose responsibility is to guard and protect them, instead sent them off to insight grievous sin. This battle was a test to see if the men of Israel would step up to the standard Pinchas set for them or would they sit back and watch as the next sin tried to enter the camp.
Last week, it appears, I touched a few nerves in my written commentary. If you missed it, the archive is posted on my website. I received feedback from some men who shared that my words brought conviction in their walk. They took a good look in their own mirrors, pulled up their big boy training pants and took action on areas Holy Spirit revealed to them were out of order. (Jude 11) 8. And he said to them, “Lodge here this night and I shall bring you word again, as the LORD* will speak to me.” And the princes of Moab stayed with Balaam. 9. And God came to Balaam and said, “Who are these men with you?”

10. And Balaam said to God, “Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, has sent to me saying, 11. ‘Behold, there is a people that has come out of Egypt and it covers the face of the earth. Come now, curse them for me. Perhaps I shall be able to overcome them and drive them out.’”

22:12. And God said to Balaam, “You will not go with them! You will not curse the people, for they are blessed.”

22:13. And Balaam rose up in the morning and said to the princes of Balak, “Go back to your land, for the LORD* refuses to give me leave to go with you.”

22:14. And the princes of Moab rose up and they went to Balak and said, “Balaam refuses to come with us.”

22:15. And Balak sent still again princes, more, even greater than they. 16. And they came to Balaam and said to him, “Thus says Balak the son of Zippor, Let nothing, I pray you, hinder you from coming to me, 17. for I shall promote you to very great honor and I shall do whatever you say to me. Come therefore, I pray you, curse this people for me.”

22:18. And Balaam answered and said to the servants of Balak, “If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the word of the LORD* my God, to do less or more. 19. Now therefore, I pray you, stay here this night too, so I may know what more the LORD* will say to me.”

22:20. And God came to Balaam at night and said to him, “If the men come to call you, rise up, go with them, but yet the word which I shall say to you, that will you do.” 21. And Balaam rose up in the morning and saddled his donkey and went with the princes of Moab.

The LORD* Uses a Donkey

22:22. And God’s anger was kindled because he went, and the angel of the LORD* stood in the road to be an adversary against him. Now he was riding on his donkey and his two servants were with him. 23. And the donkey saw the angel of the LORD* standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand and the donkey turned aside out of the way and went into the field, and Balaam struck the donkey, to turn her into the road. 24. But the angel of the LORD* stood in a path of the vineyards, a wall being on this side and a wall on that side.

22:25. And when the donkey saw the angel of the LORD*, it thrust itself to the wall and crushed Balaam’s foot against the wall and he struck it again. 26. And the angel of the LORD* went further and stood in a narrow place, where there was no way to turn either to the right hand or to the left. 27. And when the donkey saw the angel of the LORD*, she fell down under Balaam, and Balaam’s anger was kindled and he struck the donkey with his staff. 28. And the LORD* opened the mouth of the donkey and it said to Balaam, “What have I done to you, that you have hit me these three times?” (2 Pe. 2:16)

22:34. And Balaam said to the angel of the LORD*, “I have sinned, for I did not know that. You stood in the way against me. Now therefore, if it displeases you, I shall go back again.”

22:35. And the angel of the LORD* said to Balaam, “Go with the men, but you will speak only the word that I shall speak to you.” So Balaam went with the princes of Balak.

22:36. And when Balak heard that Balaam had come, he went out to a city of Moab to meet him, which is at the border of Arnon, which is at the furthest end of the border. 37. And Balak said to Balaam, “Did I not earnestly send for you to call you? Why did you not come to me? Am I not indeed able to promote you to honor?”

Word of the defeat of Sichon, king of Emori must have traveled to Balak quickly, even without TV and the Internet. Balak most likely saw himself next in line for defeat. Immediate action and strategic planning were needed to defeat Israel and avoid catastrophe. Their reputation for having great strength preceded them. We can read in Joshua that the exploits of Israel leaving Egypt were still being talked about. Balak needed to get the upper hand of this situation so he sought a weapon far greater than human strength. As an interesting side note, I wonder what the outcome of this Torah portion would have been if instead of trying to defeat Israel, Balak had sought to bless Israel. We will never know.
Balak’s strategy was to utilize Balaam, a priest known for his power to curse people. The curses he had spoken over armies powerfully defeated them. Balaam’s destructive words were successful numerous times. Could they bring Balak victory?
We all know well the account of Balaam and his apparent struggle to do good.  How many of us who grew up in Sunday school will ever forget the day they heard the story of the talking donkey? We were instructed in school on the sin of cursing Yah’s people. The important lesson of being sensitive to hear Yah’s guidance, before He had to use our favorite pet to give us the message was also etched in our hearts.
There is more to the story of Balaam’s greediness for us to glean. In Numbers 23:9 Balaam says, “yes, a people that will dwell alone and not think itself one of the nations.” This verse is very rich in its meaning to us today.
A number of years ago, then prime minister of Israel, Yitzchak Rabin made an infamous speech in Jerusalem. In that speech he stated that the people of Israel were only interested in being like all other nations. How do we interpret this statement? He was saying that although the State of Israel was founded by a miracle of Elohim Himself and they were called by Elohim to live by His commandments, they just wanted to look like, act like and be like all the other nations of the world. They did not want to be different; they did not desire to dwell alone as a nation clearly devoted to the One who had brought them out of the ashes of the Holocaust. Although Yitzchak Rabin was a citizen of the State of Israel, his words in that speech, before his assassination, proved he had not learned what it was to be part of the Nation of Israel, a nation called to be unique from others, even if it meant living alone.
