THEN WILL THE LORD COME!
by David Wilkerson
[May 19, 1931 – April 27, 2011]

Today, the heat of temptation and compromise is many times hotter than it was a
generation ago. For example, Satan has rigged the entire technology of our
age—corrupting it with seduction, sensuality, lust and temptation. Why do we
face such a white-hot furnace of temptation today? Why are lust and sex being
used to sell every conceivable kind of product? Why are there hundreds of porno
websites on the Internet? Who is the target of this flood of filth?

It isn’t the secular world, which has already been seduced. No, Satan’s
target is none of these. Rather, he has manipulated the media to snare the
hearts of overcoming Christians. He wants to weaken and destroy the testimony
of the gospel.

Right now the furnace is being heated seven times over in the lives of many
believers. Satan has created situations in their homes, on their jobs and in
their relationships that are more intense than ever. And many once-strong
Christians are giving up, quitting on God. They no longer pray for help.
Instead, they think, “My trial is too intense for me to survive!”

In Daniel 3, God turned the devil’s scheme into an opportunity to expose the
whole nation of Babylon to His testimony. Because the three young men would not
bow, the Lord delivered them. And they brought to the nation a clear
manifestation of the Lord Jesus Christ!

The king of Babylon testified, “Did not we cast three men bound into the
midst of the fire? . . . Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the
fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of
God” (Daniel 3:24-25).

Quickly the king nullified his first decree of idol worship and issued this new
decree: “Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language,
which speak anything amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego,
shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because
there is no other God that can deliver after this sort” (verse 29).

Beloved, it all happened because of the testimony of three men—righteous
lovers of God who were willing to lay down their lives in faith.

Yes, things are going to get hot economically, physically, mentally,
spiritually and in every other way. But God has already put His hand on
separated, godly men and women in every place. And His gospel will be preached
as a testimony.

Then the Lord will come!

The Future Of Medicine Is In Devices You Swallow

Instead of going to the doctor for tests, the tests will be inside us.

It sounds like the premise for a futuristic medical thriller: doctors prescribe pills for their patients that double as ingestible sensors, wirelessly reporting back on the body’s vital signs.

A simple version of this already exists: a biotech company called Proteus Digital Health has actually created a primitive version of just such a sensor to track what drugs patients have taken; it was FDA-approved in 2012.

Dubbed the Helius, Proteus’s “smart pill” system consists of a pinhead-sized sensor embedded in a pill, and a battery-powered patch that monitors various health indicators, such as sleep, activity, respiration, and heart rate–kind of like a Fitbit tracker on steroids.

The sensor is powered by the human body, no batteries required. Once it has been swallowed, the device transmits a signal to the patch, indicating the time of ingestion and type of pill swallowed. The patch periodically sends all of its data to a designated smartphone.

Knowing what medication patients swallow and when they swallow it “is one of the most important pieces of information you could possibly have in medical science,” explains Andrew Thompson, CEO of Proteus. Today, doctors don’t have a way to measure exactly how patients respond to medications over time. Having precise data about when patients swallow their pills–and knowing what physiological responses happen as a result–is invaluable.

The current system requires patients to take a placebo pill containing the sensor along with their medication, but Proteus is collaborating with pharmaceutical companies–including Novartis and Otsuka Pharmaceutical (the company behind Abilify, a drug for bipolar disorder, depression, and schizophrenia)–to develop pills that feature both medication and sensors.

The first fully integrated pills are expected to be available in 2014 or 2015. Beyond that, Thompson speculates that Proteus could eventually add the ability to measure core body temperature to its ingestible sensors–another useful data point for doctors and caregivers looking for warning signs that a patient might not be doing well.

Proteus is currently the only company making inroads in the digital pill world. “I think it’s possible there will be other companies that will try to duplicate our technology. Our mission is to enable a whole new way of delivering health services,” says Thompson.

Mom claims school banned son’s Bible, used inappropriate worksheets

A Detroit-area woman is accusing her children’s school of hypocrisy after her son was told not to bring his Bible to class and her daughter’s teacher distributed worksheets referencing alcohol.

Jessica Cross, of Dearborn Heights, her 8-year-old son, Jason, would take his Bible to school to read during a free period. He was eventually told that book is “only for church, not school,” MyFoxDetroit.com reported.

Cross said her son, who is autistic, has been treated poorly by school staff and subjected to unnecessary punishments.

“Putting my son in time outs for 13 hours a week and refusing him lunch, and just absurd things and just, if I did something like that I’d lose my kids,” Cross said, adding that she has kept classroom logs and has been unable to resolve the issue with school officials since October.

Cross said that after her son was told not to bring his Bible to school, her 6-year-old daughter was sent home with a worksheet that read, “My dad drinks wine. He puts a lime in his wine. It makes my mom smile,” the station reported.

As she was making dinner Wednesday, Cross said her daughter asked her, “‘Mommy, why would a daddy drinking wine make a mommy happy?’ And I dropped my spoon, I was like, ‘What?'”

In an interview with MyFoxDetroit.com, Superintendent Laurine VanValkenburg apologized about the worksheet and said that students are allowed to bring their Bibles to read at school.

“If a child wants to bring a bible to school, they may,” she said, adding that she has been out of town and plans to look into both incidents when she returns.

Number of U.S. sailors damaged by Fukushima radiation continues to rise

(NaturalNews) Sailors aboard the USS Ronald Reagan, one of the nation’s most modern aircraft carriers, were the first to respond to the stricken nuclear power station at Fukushima, Japan, in March 2011, following a devastating earthquake and tsunami which struck the site and heavily damaged three of the plant’s six nuclear reactors.

Now, months and years later, an increasing number of them are becoming sick and disabled with conditions that they are blaming on above-average exposures to radiation leaking from the reactors hit hardest by the massive wave. As reported by theInternational Business Times (IBT):

An alarming number of US Navy sailors have now started coming out to publicly air their grievances against what happened to their health as they conducted their jobs while in Japan waters three years ago.

Close to 100 U.S. sailors with ailments such as thyroid cancer, brain tumors and leukemia have filed a lawsuit against the Tokyo Electric Power Company. But its progress has been stalled because many more sailors want to join into the lawsuit, according to Bay area lawyer Charles Bonner.

The number of affected sailors continues to grow. According to a report by EcoWatch, an organization that has been monitoring the after-effects of the worst nuclear disaster since Chernobyl, Arnie Gunderson, a nuclear expert with Fairewinds Energy Education, says, “The health effects of the Reagan crew are real. There’s no denying that these brave men and women were exposed to high levels of radiation.”

He went on to say this about radiation sickness: “At high levels you wind up with hair loss, vomiting, diarrhea – all of those experiences were experienced by the sailors on the USS Reagan.”

Did TEPCO withhold information about the release of radioactivity?

Bonner says that, because of the continuous influx of sailors who are experiencing symptoms indicative of radiation poisoning, it has become necessary to delay filing the suit until early next month. He says sailors from other U.S. warships are also joining.

According to the suit – which Gunderson says sailors may not have standing to file, simply because they were performing a military duty on behalf of the U.S. – TEPCO, the crippled plant’s operator, is alleged to have purposely withheld information regarding the release of a radioactive plume. It says that U.S. sailors could have had a chance to avoid it and that their ships could have escaped the deadly cloud had the Japanese power company warned higher authorities.

One female sailor, Lindsay Cooper, is claiming that she now has a damaged thyroid, a disrupted menstrual cycle and highly fluctuating body weight, among other symptoms. “It’s ruined me,” she told IBT.

A naval officer from Maryland, Steve Simmons – once very active in sports and fitness – told the local CBS affiliate, WUSA, that he has lost use of both of his legs (he is now in a wheelchair). Also, he says he experiences fevers and has swelling in his lymph nodes because of his exposure.

“You’re starting to run fevers, your lymph nodes start swelling, you’re having night sweats, you’re getting spastic and you’re losing sensation in your legs, and you can’t feel your legs when you’re getting second-degree burns on them, and how do you explain those things?” said Simmons, adding that his symptoms began about eight months after returning to the U.S. from Japan.

Ship so radioactive it couldn’t dock in many ports

Sailors involved in the suit say they were drenched in radioactive fallout on the very first day atFukushima. They say they noticed a cloud of air with a metallic taste wash over the aircraft carrier.

More from IBT:

They thought it was a snow storm. Responding U.S. Navy sailors disregarded it and continued working and helping and rescuing. Some worked 18-hour shifts in the open air throughout a four-day mission, re-fueling and repairing helicopters, loading them with vital supplies and much more. Some even jumped into the ocean just offshore to pull victims to safety.

Worse, all drank and bathed in waters that although had been desalinated, were surely greatly contaminated by radioactive fallout and runoff.

They described the cloud as warm, which is odd, given that it also reminded them of “radioactive snow,” which is something they joked about. However, what is no joke is that, when the USS Ronald Reaganleft Fukushima, it was found to be so radioactive that Japanese, South Korean and Guamanian ports refused to allow it entry.

Radiation levels at Fukushima plant increases to 800% of government standard

(NaturalNews) Radiation at the Fukushima Daiichi power plant has now exceeded more than eight times the radiation limit set by the Japanese government – presenting new concerns for problems that many say are exacerbating.

The largely government-owned Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) admitted that radiation levels had elevated to an estimated 8 millisieverts per year (mSv/y) outside of the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant in December.

This greatly eclipses the Japanese government-set limit of 1 mSv/y, put in place as part of the officially-sanctioned reactor decommissioning plan for the disaster-stricken nuclear plant as a safety measure to diminish the level of harmful effects on the surrounding areas so that the exclusion zone can eventually be lifted.

According to NHK, Japan’s public broadcaster, the plant was measuring at below the required 1 mSv/y benchmark back in March 2013, but the increasing emission of beta-rays from the contaminated water, and particularly strontium-90, stored in above-ground tanks was spiking these levels. However, theAsahi Shimbun reported that a very high level of 7.8 mSv/y was recorded back in May 2013.

Official media accounts blamed the approximately 1,000 above-ground storage tanks, explaining that the metal tank containers reportedly amplify the beta-rays to create stronger X-rays and, thus, higher readings.

Asahi carried this account of the official explanation: “Beta rays released from radioactive strontium and other substances in the water reacted with iron and other elements in the storage tank containers to generate the X-rays, the officials said.”

TEPCO and the Japanese government knew about elevated radiation, but didn’t bother to tell the public

Government officials admit, as NHK reports, that they have been aware of the issue of beta-ray emission for “a certain period of time” but have not addressed it due to overriding concerns with the volume of contaminated water – some 300-400 tons of which is leaking into the Pacific Ocean on a daily basis.

The Asahi Shimbun revealed January 8 that TEPCO had been hiding public disclosure of more than 140 measurements showing excessive strontium levels – claiming at the time that they were “wrong,” because they were above the total beta-ray numbers in some cases.

Company officials “insisted” that there was no attempt to conceal information, but rather that the concerns were over accuracy. TEPCO claims that it will release “corrected” reading numbers by the end of the month after reconciling them for inconsistencies.

Once again, both Japanese government and TEPCO officials were complicit in keeping the truth from the public, both there among the Japanese population and abroad in international circles.

A memorandum of cooperation between the International Atomic Energy Agency and Fukushima, and also the Fukui Prefecture, was recently revealed, proving that a confidentiality clause exists between the United Nations-level atomic safety agency and TEPCO officials, allowing proprietary information to be kept from disclosure and to be restricted under classification. This agreement pertains in particular to the decontamination of the Fukushima plant, the waste management of radioactive materials and the release of surveys on the radiological effect on human health conducted by the Fukushima Medical University.

Since public admissions that Fukushima had reached levels of 8 mSv/y, officials have been scrambling to increase monitoring and mitigation strategies.

Japan’s Nuclear Regulation Authority has been meeting in recent days to evaluate how to manage these excessive levels and minimize the amount of escaping radiation, as efforts have been made to increase monitoring stations in the surrounding areas of the exclusion zone.

The Nuclear Regulation Authority effectively doubled the number of radiation monitoring devices it had set up, expanding its deployment of 446 instruments to 815. These nearly 400 extra monitors were installed in a reported 12 cities, towns and villages in the area. The devices allow testing of the air just above the ground at 10-minute intervals.

The full scale of effects has yet to be seen, as radiation levels continue to increase and the control of contaminated water remains an uphill battle.

GOD RAISED UP A MAN – by David Wilkerson – David Wilkerson Today – TUESDAY, JANUARY 21, 2014

GOD RAISED UP A MAN
by David Wilkerson
[May 19, 1931 – April 27, 2011]

In Nehemiah’s day, the walls of Jerusalem were in ruins, the city a literal
pile of stones. And the church was totally backslidden, with no witness left.
The wicked powers surrounding Israel persecuted them severely, mocking every
work they tried to undertake.

How did God respond in such a time of ruin? Did He send a well-trained army to
help them? Did He send a palace guard to smite their prominent enemies? No, God
raised up a man—Nehemiah.

Nehemiah was a man with God’s burden on his heart. He spent his time praying,
fasting and mourning, because he was broken over Israel’s condition. He also
continually dug into God’s Word, grasping prophecy and moving in the Spirit.

Although Nehemiah served as cupbearer to the king of Persia, he remained
separate from the wickedness surrounding him. In the midst of all the
sensuality, immorality and godlessness taking place in Israel, he maintained a
holy walk with the Lord. And, in turn, everyone who heard him preach was
purified in soul.

Soon a revival of holiness swept the land. “The priests and the Levites
purified themselves, and purified the people, and the gates, and the wall”
(Nehemiah 12:30). The house of God also was purged, with everything of flesh
cast out. Nehemiah sent workers into the temple, telling them, “I want every
piece of filth out of here. Don’t leave anything that has to do with idolatry
or sensuality” (see Nehemiah 13:8-9).

Beloved, this is God’s concept of revival! It is all about sweeping out every
chamber in your heart that’s unclean and unsanctified. He wants no dark places
left.

Where did Nehemiah get such spiritual authority, to cause compromisers to
tremble, and to bring back godly fear to the temple? The king did not give it
to him. No church bishop gave it to him. He didn’t learn it from a Bible
school.

No, Nehemiah got his authority on his knees—weeping, broken, wanting to know
God’s heart. And because he was a man of prayer, he was able to confess the
sins of a whole nation: “That thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant,
which I pray before thee now, day and night . . . and confess the sins of the
children of Israel . . . both I and my father’s house have sinned. We have
dealt very corruptly against thee, and have not kept the commandments”
(Nehemiah 1:6-7).

Some Conservatives ‘Have No Place in the State of New York,’ Declares NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo; Sean Hannity Says He Will Leave and Take His Money With Him

If you are conservative Republican against abortion or homosexuality New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) says you have no place in the state and his comments have set off a firestorm of criticism from conservatives across America.

Cuomo made the declaration during a discussion with Susan Arbetter on ‘The Capitol Pressroom’ last Friday morning according to a report in Capitol Confidential.

He argued that there is currently a “schism” in the state Republican party which reflected a larger split among the party that is causing a lot of damage in Washington, D.C., before declaring that “conservative Republicans … have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.”

According to the report, Cuomo noted:

“You have a schism within the Republican Party. … They’re searching to define their soul, that’s what’s going on. Is the Republican Party in this state a moderate party or is it an extreme conservative party? That’s what they’re trying to figure out. It’s a mirror of what’s going on in Washington. The gridlock in Washington is less about Democrats and Republicans. It’s more about extreme Republicans versus moderate Republicans.

… You’re seeing that play out in New York. … The Republican Party candidates are running against the SAFE Act — it was voted for by moderate Republicans who run the Senate! Their problem is not me and the Democrats; their problem is themselves. Who are they? Are they these extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay? Is that who they are? Because if that’s who they are and they’re the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.

If they’re moderate Republicans like in the Senate right now, who control the Senate — moderate Republicans have a place in their state. George Pataki was governor of this state as a moderate Republican; but not what you’re hearing from them on the far right.”

The comments have enraged several high profile New York conservatives like FOX News’ Sean Hannity who declared Monday on his radio show that he will leave the state.

“Now I want to tell you something — I was born and raised in New York,” said Hannity. “I want you to know that and I can’t wait to get out of here. I really can’t. I don’t want to pay their 10-percent state tax anymore. I live in the second-highest property taxed county in the entire country in Nassau County. I can’t wait to sell my house to somebody who wants it. I can’t wait to pay no state income tax down in Florida or Texas. I haven’t decided yet, but I’m leaning Florida because I like the water and I like to fish.”

“Gov. Cuomo, I’m going to leave and I’m taking all of my money with me — every single solitary penny,” he added. “And by the way governor, because I work here — there’s a whole bunch of people that work for me and benefit because I do two shows. And I guess maybe some of them will be out of work, governor. I’m sure you’ll take care of them.”

On Monday, N.Y. Republican Party Chair Ed Cox urged Mr. Cuomo to apologize to conservatives for making the “divisive” remarks.

“I call upon Governor Cuomo to apologize to New York’s good conservatives and Catholics for his statement that they ‘have no place in the State of New York’ and to all New Yorkers for poisoning New York’s politics with divisive rhetoric at a time when New York needs to be united to address its continuing economic problems,” noted Cox in a press release.

In a response to the criticism a statement released by Gov. Cuomo’s office said his remarks were being distorted in the media.

“If you read the transcript (below), it is clear that the Governor was making the observation that an extreme right candidate cannot win statewide because this is a politically moderate state (either moderate Republican or moderate Democratic). In the same response, the Governor went on to say ‘it is fine’ to be anti-gun control, and anti-choice” – as he respects both positions,” the statement noted.

Oregon Rules Bakery Violated Gay Couple’s Civil Rights By Denying Them A Cake For Same-Sex Wedding

PORTLAND, Ore. (CBS Seattle/AP) — An Oregon bakery stands by its decision to deny a cake for a same-sex wedding.

The owners of Sweet Cakes by Melissa tell KATU-TV that their religious beliefs have not changed after Oregon’s Bureau of Labor and Industries determined the Portland-area bakery violated the civil rights of a same-sex couple. Owner Aaron Klein says it almost seems as if the state is hostile toward Christianbusinesses.

“We still stand by what we believe from the beginning,” Klein told KATU-TV.

Melissa Klein took to Facebook to thank people for standing behind them.

“I know that your prayers are being heard. I feel such a peace with all of this that is going on,” she posted. “Even though there are days that are hard and times of struggle we still feel that the Lord is in this. It is His fight and our situation is in His hands.”

Lewis & Clark law professor Jim Oleske says Oregon is one of 21 states that protect against discrimination based on sexual orientation.

“Based on cases in every other state that has confronted this so far, this business is likely to lose on its claim that it can be exempt from an anti-discrimination law,” Oleske told KATU.

The state is now overseeing a conciliation process to see if the parties can reach a settlement.

“Under Oregon law, Oregonians may not be denied service based on sexual orientation or gender identity. The law provides an exemption for religious organizations and schools, but does not allow private business owners to discriminate based on sexual orientation, just as they cannot legally deny service based on race, sex, age, disability or religion,” the state said in a statement. “The investigation concludes that the bakery is not a religious institution under law and that the business’ policy of refusing to make same-sex wedding cakes represents unlawful discrimination based on sexual orientation.”

Gov. Cuomo: Pro-life people not welcome in New York

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo believes that pro-life activists along with anti-gay activists, and supporters of the Second Amendment, are not welcome in his state.

During a radio interview on Friday, Cuomo pointed out that Republicans were in the midst of a schism, where conservatives worked against moderate Republicans.

“Their problem is not me and the Democrats; their problem is themselves,” he said. “Who are they? Are they these extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay? Is that who they are? Because if that’s who they are and they’re the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.”

State Republicans blasted his comments, the New York Post reported, even as the governor walked them back on Sunday in an open letter to the newspaper.
