A significant development has emerged in the disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, mother of “Today” show co-host Savannah Guthrie.
An FBI spokesperson confirmed Sunday that among several gloves recovered during the search, one appears to match the gloves worn by the masked suspect captured on surveillance footage outside Guthrie’s Catalina Foothills home.
The glove is now undergoing DNA testing.
If confirmed, the evidence could represent the strongest forensic lead yet in the 15-day investigation.

What We Know
According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the glove in question bears similarities to those worn by the suspect seen on Nest doorbell footage released five days ago.
The footage, recovered from backend systems, shows a masked man approaching Guthrie’s front door before attempting to cover the camera with leaves.
Investigators are now awaiting final lab results. If a viable DNA profile is extracted, it will be uploaded to a national database to attempt identification.
Authorities have not confirmed whether the glove was found inside or outside the residence, nor have they disclosed whether any partial DNA results have already been obtained.
EMP SHIELD – PROTECT WHAT MATTERS MOST
The Backstory
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department believes Guthrie was taken against her will during the late hours of January 31 or early morning of February 1.
She was reported missing when she failed to attend church that Sunday. Blood drops matching her DNA were found near the entrance of her home, heightening concerns that an abduction occurred.
Surveillance logs previously revealed:
- Doorbell camera disconnecting at approximately 1:47 a.m.
- Motion detection shortly afterward
- Pacemaker app losing connection around 2:28 a.m.
- Cellphone, Apple Watch, and medication left behind
More than 13,000 tips have been received, and the FBI has raised the reward to $100,000.

Why The Glove Matters
Forensic evidence often determines whether a case advances from suspicion to prosecution.
If the glove yields a confirmed DNA match, investigators could:
- Identify the suspect through CODIS or other databases
- Link the suspect to additional evidence
- Secure arrest warrants
However, officials caution that lab results are pending, and no conclusions have been finalized.

Deep Dive: The Turning Point?
Many high-profile cases hinge on a single piece of physical evidence. In a case dominated by surveillance footage and digital trails, a DNA-confirmed item would shift the investigation into a new phase.
Law enforcement sources say final testing must be completed before uploading any profile into national databases — a step that could rapidly narrow the suspect pool.
Until then, authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant.
Prophetic Context
Scripture reminds us in Luke 8:17 (NASB 1995), “For nothing is hidden that will not become evident.”
Justice often unfolds methodically — through evidence, patience, and persistence.
For Guthrie’s family, every development brings renewed hope that truth will emerge.
Conclusion
On day 15 of the investigation, the possible glove match represents the most concrete forensic development to date.
Lab results are pending. The suspect remains unidentified.
But the case may be closer to a breakthrough.
