The climate establishment is facing a reckoning. As world leaders and activists descended on Brazil for COP30—arriving by private jet, cruise ship, and motorcade—a veteran climate scientist stepped forward to expose what he says is the real purpose of the UN climate regime: censorship, geopolitical manipulation, and the transfer of Western power to global institutions dominated by China. In a detailed interview with RAIR Foundation USA, Tom Harris, Executive Director of the International Climate Science Coalition, warned that the scientific narrative behind the climate movement has collapsed—and that the UN’s response is not transparency, but suppression.

A COP Conference Built on Spectacle and Hypocrisy
Harris described COP30 as a kind of global theater. More than 56,000 delegates flew to Brazil, some living on floating resorts—despite lectures about reducing travel and fossil-fuel use. Organizers even rushed the construction of a new Amazonian highway to transport dignitaries to events. Harris argued that if climate officials believed their own warnings, the entire summit would have been held virtually.

He said the hypocrisy is not accidental but symbolic. “COP30 made it clear who must sacrifice and who is above the rules,” he noted—ordinary citizens face energy restrictions while the global elite expand their own footprint.

The Most Alarming Development: A Global Censorship Pact
While the world focused on speeches, COP30 produced a far more consequential document—a “Declaration on Information Integrity.” Harris warned that this agreement empowers governments and major tech platforms to suppress, down-rank, or remove content that challenges UN climate claims. Canada signed immediately. The U.S., while not formally signing, has already embraced similar practices in agency-platform coordination efforts.

Harris has firsthand experience. His lectures on YouTube automatically display UN “corrections,” and he expects more aggressive de-platforming under the new declaration. The reason, he says, is simple: “Public trust in climate extremism is collapsing.”

Deep Dive: What the Data Actually Shows
Harris dismantled what he called the “foundational myth” of climate politics: that CO₂ is the dominant driver of global temperature. He cited:

• 600 million years of geological records showing no consistent correlation between CO₂ and temperature.
• Ice-core evidence revealing CO₂ often lags temperature by centuries.
• Basic physics showing that warming oceans naturally release CO₂.
• NASA satellite data confirming unprecedented global greening due to CO₂ fertilization.

He emphasized that CO₂ is not pollution but the molecule that fuels all plant life. Levels have been historically low—recent ice-age CO₂ concentrations approached the threshold at which plant life collapses. “Human emissions,” Harris said, “may have prevented a catastrophic carbon decline.”

For Harris and other scientists like Patrick Moore, this is not environmental harm. It is a net benefit.

China’s Exemption and the UN Wealth-Transfer System
Under current UN climate treaties, China is still classified as a “developing nation,” exempting it from meaningful emissions cuts. The U.S. and Europe, meanwhile, must dismantle their energy sectors and buy “green” technology produced in China—much of it manufactured using coal.

Harris identified the true agenda: “a massive transfer of wealth and industrial capacity from the West to global governance structures where China holds enormous influence.” COP30 proposals now approach $1.3 trillion per year in climate-finance transfers.

Scientific Realities Ignored: The Coming Solar Minimum
While COP30 focuses on restricting CO₂, solar physicists warn that Earth may enter a “grand solar minimum” mid-century, a natural cooling cycle associated with crop failures and harsh winters. Cold weather already causes 20 times more deaths than heat. Yet governments prepare only for warming scenarios, leaving populations vulnerable.

“If CO₂ warms the planet slightly,” Harris said, “that is a blessing, not a threat.”

Prophetic Context: A Global System of Control
What Harris describes echoes biblical warnings of a future political order built on coercion, deception, and centralized authority. The prophet Daniel foresaw a time when global rulers would “intend to make alterations in times and in law” (Daniel 7:25, NASB 1977). Revelation warns of a world system that demands unquestioned allegiance and punishes dissent.

The UN’s move to criminalize scientific disagreement—and its push for global control over energy, speech, and national policy—fits this emerging pattern. The climate agenda increasingly resembles an ideological weapon, not environmental stewardship.

Strategic Implications
If Harris is correct, the climate movement is not merely misguided—it is a tool for restructuring the world:

• Free speech becomes subordinate to UN authority
• Western nations sacrifice energy independence while China expands power
• Science becomes political dogma rather than open inquiry
• Global elites consolidate control under the banner of “planetary emergency”

Such conditions create fertile ground for the prophetic “beast system” many Christians warn about.
