171 Foreign ‘Provocateurs’ Deported
In an official statement posted on X, Israel’s Foreign Ministry declared, “171 additional provocateurs from the Hamas–Sumud flotilla, including Greta Thunberg, were deported today from Israel to Greece and Slovakia.” The ministry emphasized that all deportees’ legal rights “were and will continue to be fully upheld,” while warning that “the lies they are spreading are part of their pre-planned fake news campaign.”
The deportees included citizens of Greece, Italy, France, Ireland, Sweden, Poland, Germany, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Austria, Luxembourg, Finland, Denmark, Slovakia, Switzerland, Norway, the UK, Serbia, and the United States. Photos released by Israeli authorities showed Thunberg and two other women walking through Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion International Airport in gray detention clothing typically used in Israeli prison facilities.

138 Activists Still in Custody
Israel’s Foreign Ministry told Agence France-Presse that 138 activists from the flotilla remain in Israeli custody pending further investigation. The 45-vessel flotilla carried over 400 people and was intercepted by Israeli naval forces in international waters last week before reaching Hamas-controlled Gaza.
Israel stated that the only violent incident during the operation occurred when a Hamas–Sumud flotilla member bit a female medical staffer at Ketsiyot Prison. “These are not innocent humanitarians,” one Israeli defense source said. “These are agitators deliberately working to provoke conflict for the cameras.”
