Trump’s “Fork in the Road” Memo

The groundwork was laid on January 28, 2025, when the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) issued a starkly titled memo, “Fork in the Road.” The document offered federal workers a deal: resign voluntarily now, keep their salary and benefits through September 30, but sign away legal claims against the government and accept that their federal career was over.
