Former FBI Director Christopher Wray may soon find himself sharing a cell with his predecessor James Comey. New disclosures confirm that the FBI had 274 plainclothes agents embedded in the crowds on January 6, 2021 — despite Wray swearing under oath that he “did not believe” any undercover FBI personnel were present at the U.S. Capitol.
Wray’s False Testimony Under Oath
In July 2023, during a heated exchange with Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Wray insisted he did not believe there were any undercover FBI agents on scene:
“I’m not sure there were undercover agents on scene… As I sit here right now, I do not believe there were undercover agents on.”
Biggs blasted Wray on social media after the hearing, promising accountability:
“This claim has already been debunked — including by the former U.S. Capitol Police Chief. Wray will be held accountable for this lie.”
The 274-Agents Bombshell
This week, the FBI finally admitted that 274 plainclothes agents were in the massive Trump-supporting crowd on Jan. 6. The Blaze reported that a senior congressional source said the number “is not necessarily a surprise” given the bureau’s usual counter-surveillance practices. But the FBI’s repeated refusal to disclose its presence — combined with Wray’s sworn testimony — raises questions of perjury and political manipulation.
The new figure dwarfs earlier revelations. Court filings already showed that the DOJ admitted to at least 40 undercover operatives with the Proud Boys on Jan. 6, plus confidential human sources inside the Oath Keepers. In November 2022, the FBI confessed it had at least eight informants inside the Proud Boys months before and after Jan. 6.
Fedsurrection Confirmed
Critics call it a “Fedsurrection.” Gateway Pundit has documented at least 20 confirmed incidents and operations involving federal, state, and local operatives infiltrating Trump crowds. Recent Proud Boys motions revealed yet another 40 undercover Homeland Security agents embedded with demonstrators. Even the DC Metro Police had undercovers on bicycles mingling with protesters near the restricted area barriers.
The Department of Justice’s own Office of Inspector General had previously claimed in an 88-page report (December 2024) that it “found no evidence” of undercover FBI employees in the Jan. 6 protests — a statement now under severe scrutiny.
Why This Matters
If the FBI lied to Congress about the scale of its involvement, it’s not just a breach of trust — it’s potentially criminal. The entire narrative of January 6 as an “insurrection” has been used to justify sweeping surveillance, arrests, and political purges. Yet the facts now point to a massive intelligence operation inside the crowd itself.
Rep. Biggs and other House Republicans have already signaled their intent to pursue perjury referrals and to compel the FBI to release full rosters of undercover personnel. Wray’s denials, like Comey’s before him, may become the centerpiece of the next chapter of accountability.
Prophetic Implications
Scripture warns of leaders who “deal treacherously” and “devise mischief by a law” (Psalm 94:20). The exposure of the FBI’s hidden role on January 6 may be another sign that the deep state’s false narratives are crumbling under divine judgment. The American people are waking up to the reality that what they were told was an “insurrection” may have been a government-directed provocation from the start.
