President Donald Trump has sent shockwaves through both Israel and the faith community by declaring at the United Nations that he will “NOT allow” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to annex the West Bank. Speaking firmly to Arab and Muslim leaders in a closed-door session, Trump reportedly said: “I’m not going to allow it. It’s been enough, it’s time to stop.”
But let us be clear: the “West Bank” is not some random disputed territory. It is Judea and Samaria — the biblical heartland of Israel. This is where Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob walked. It is the land where the prophets spoke, and where much of the Old Testament unfolds. To deny Israel sovereignty over Judea and Samaria is to deny the very promises of God.
Global Pressure Mounts on Trump
It is no surprise that the president has bent under the crushing pressure of global powers. Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Qatar, Egypt, France, the United Kingdom, and even Canada have lobbied heavily against annexation. Arab leaders warned that annexation could unravel the Abraham Accords, Trump’s signature foreign policy achievement. Europeans threatened to recognize a Palestinian state outright.
In that context, Trump chose to reassure them: no annexation. But in doing so, he crossed a prophetic red line. America is stepping into dangerous territory by attempting to dictate what Israel can or cannot do with the land God gave them.
God’s Land, Not Washington’s Call
This is not about geopolitics alone. It is about covenant. God Himself gave Judea and Samaria to Israel as an eternal inheritance. Trump may believe he is preserving “peace,” but Scripture warns that dividing the land brings judgment. Joel 3:2 is unambiguous: “I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people, My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; they have also divided up My land.”
It is not Washington’s land to divide. It is not Trump’s call to make. This is God’s land, and any attempt to block Israel’s sovereignty over it is rebellion against His covenant promises.
The Prophetic Danger
I support the president and recognize his strong defense of Israel in many arenas. But this statement is playing with absolute fire. By aligning with Arab leaders and Western globalists who want to carve up Israel in the name of “peace,” America risks bringing division between itself, Israel, and even between Trump and the faith community that has stood by him.
Zechariah 12 warns that Jerusalem and the land of Israel will become a “burdensome stone” for all nations, and that those who try to lift it will be cut to pieces. That is exactly where we are heading.
The Bottom Line
Trump’s words may satisfy Arab leaders, but they will not satisfy the God of Israel. Judea and Samaria are not bargaining chips. They are part of God’s covenant land. America is inserting itself into a matter of divine inheritance — and the consequences could be catastrophic.
