The “wokest of the woke” are now turning on each other. A Gaza aid flotilla meant to showcase solidarity with Palestinians has erupted into internal chaos after pro-Palestinian Muslim militants and LGBT activists clashed, leading to mass defections from the convoy and the sudden resignation of Greta Thunberg from its leadership.
Clashing Ideologies at Sea
The convoy — which set out from Barcelona on September 1 with around 20 vessels, 350 activists, and a stated mission to “break Israel’s siege on Gaza” — was supposed to unite international voices in a humanitarian effort. Instead, it has become a case study in irreconcilable worldviews. Radical Muslims, who historically reject LGBT lifestyles (often violently so), now find themselves sharing deck space with outspoken queer activists. The result: open revolt.
Muslim Militants Walk Out
Tunisian coordinator Khaled Boujemaa stormed off the flotilla after discovering the presence of what he described as “queer activists” on board.
“They lied to us about the identity of some of the participants on the front lines of the flotilla; I accuse the organizers of having kept this aspect hidden from us,” Boujemaa declared.
One source of his frustration was the inclusion of Saif Ayadi, a self-identified “communist queer militant,” who joined the flotilla during its stop in Tunisia. Other Muslim activists have voiced similar outrage, claiming their cause is being hijacked by Western cultural agendas they see as fundamentally opposed to Islam.
Greta Thunberg Steps Down
To make matters worse for the movement, climate activist Greta Thunberg reportedly stepped down from her leadership role in the convoy, though she will remain as a participant. Her departure underscores the disarray within the flotilla’s ranks as organizers scramble to keep the mission afloat — both literally and figuratively.
Sacred Cause or Hijacked Agenda?
Prominent flotilla activist Mariem Meftah denounced the participation of LGBTQ+ campaigners as a betrayal:
“Everyone’s sexual orientation is a private matter… But being a ‘queer’ activist means touching on society’s values and taking a path that risks placing my children and loved ones in a situation we reject.”
The split reveals the contradiction at the heart of the modern leftist coalition: progressive Western activists attempt to unite with Islamist movements under the banner of “justice,” yet their ideologies are diametrically opposed. For militant Muslims, homosexuality is a sin worthy of death; for Western LGBT activists, their sexual identity is the very center of their politics.
Prophetic and Globalist Implications
The implosion of the Gaza aid flotilla is not just a squabble among activists — it is a prophetic picture of the fractured alliances that globalists are attempting to stitch together. Psalm 2 reminds us that “the kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against His Anointed.” But these unnatural alliances will always collapse under their own contradictions. The enemy’s “coalition of chaos” cannot stand.
