President Donald Trump has put the United Nations on notice after what he described as “triple sabotage” during his visit to the General Assembly this week. The President blasted UN staffers for intentionally stopping an escalator as he and First Lady Melania Trump were stepping on, then compounded by a failed teleprompter and an auditorium-wide audio blackout. Trump is now demanding criminal charges for those responsible, calling the series of events “a real disgrace” and “very sinister.”
Escalator Sabotage at the UN
The incident unfolded Tuesday morning when President Trump and the First Lady entered the UN building. Two escalators led up to the main speaking floor. Melania stepped onto the left escalator followed by the President — but the moment Trump placed his foot on it, the escalator screeched to a halt. The other escalator continued to function normally.
“It’s amazing that Melania and I didn’t fall forward onto the sharp edges of these steel steps, face first,” Trump recounted. “It was only that we were each holding the handrail tightly or it would have been a disaster. This was absolutely sabotage.”
Reports from The London Times days earlier noted that UN staff had been joking about “turning off an escalator” during Trump’s visit, fueling suspicions that the action was deliberate.
Teleprompter Blackout
As Trump reached the podium before world leaders and millions watching live on television, a second crisis struck. His teleprompter went completely dark.
“Wow, first the escalator event, and now a bad teleprompter. What kind of a place is this?” Trump said, recalling the moment. “I then proceeded to make a speech without a teleprompter, which kicked in about 15 minutes later.”
Ironically, the President’s off-script delivery received rave reviews, with many praising the authenticity of his remarks.
Sound System Failure
The third strike came after Trump finished his address. He was informed that the sound had not been functioning inside the UN auditorium, meaning world leaders could only hear his words through interpreter earpieces. Even the First Lady, seated in the front row, told him afterward, “I couldn’t hear a word you said.”
“This wasn’t a coincidence,” Trump insisted. “This was triple sabotage at the UN. They ought to be ashamed of themselves.”
White House and Secret Service Respond
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that the Secret Service has launched an investigation.
“If someone at the UN intentionally stopped the escalator as the President and First Lady were stepping on, they need to be fired and investigated immediately,” Leavitt said.
Secret Service sources told RealClearPolitics reporter Susan Crabtree they were “very concerned” that Trump had been “stalled and vulnerable,” comparing the lapse to the delayed response during the July 13 assassination attempt when a bullet grazed Trump’s ear.
Prophetic and Political Implications
The President framed the incidents as symptomatic of the UN’s broader dysfunction and corruption, demanding that all security tapes be preserved, especially around the escalator’s emergency stop button. From a prophetic lens, this “triple sabotage” serves as yet another reminder of the Psalm 2 reality: “The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed.” Whether through incompetence or intentional malice, globalist institutions like the UN are being exposed for their hostility toward God’s order and America’s leadership.
