President Donald J. Trump dropped a political nuclear bomb Thursday evening, vowing to deport Muslim Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar (MN) after once again exposing her immigration fraud scam—allegedly marrying her own brother to illegally obtain a green card and infiltrate Congress.
Trump Unleashes On Truth Social
On Truth Social, President Trump didn’t mince words:
“Ilhan Omar’s Country of Somalia is plagued by a lack of central Government control, persistent Poverty, Hunger, Resurgent Terrorism, Piracy, decades of Civil War, Corruption, and pervasive Violence. 70% of the population lives in extreme Poverty, and widespread Food Insecurity. Somalia is consistently ranked among the World’s Most Corrupt Countries, including Bribery, Embezzlement, and a Dysfunctional Government. All of this, and Ilhan Omar tells us how to run America! P.S. Wasn’t she the one that married her brother in order to gain Citizenship??? What SCUM we have in our Country, telling us what to do, and how to do it. Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
Trump’s post came on the heels of the Justice Department announcing charges against eight individuals for wire fraud tied to Minnesota’s Housing Stabilization program. Several of the defendants share Somali roots, leading Trump to jab Omar again:
“Does Ilhan Omar know these people? Are they from her wonderfully managed Home Country of Somalia?”
The Scandal That Won’t Die
Omar’s immigration history has long raised red flags. According to public records:
- On February 12, 2009, Omar legally married Ahmed Nur Said Elmi — her brother.
- The two divorced in 2011.
- In 2017, after the story briefly surfaced, Omar quietly petitioned for a default divorce, claiming she could not locate Elmi — despite social media posts proving he was in contact with her.
- Investigators also uncovered that she may have used campaign funds to pay legal expenses related to the divorce.
The Power Line blog was among the first to detail the alleged scheme years ago, noting that Omar’s tangled marriage records appear to have been constructed to secure immigration benefits.
Since then, Omar has gone on to become one of the most radical members of Congress, swearing her oath of office on the Quran in 2016 and marrying her political consultant in 2020.
Trump: Enough Is Enough
For years, Omar has attacked America, Israel, and conservatives while enjoying the protections of a nation she allegedly defrauded to enter. Trump’s vow to deport her marks the boldest move yet by a sitting U.S. president to hold her accountable.
The political timing is also key. With his 2025 administration already targeting fraud, corruption, and foreign infiltration, Trump is signaling that Omar’s case will not be ignored. If immigration fraud is proven, her citizenship and office could both be stripped.
