President Donald J. Trump on Tuesday revealed new details from a Senate report showing that the Biden Administration, alongside former Special Counsel Jack Smith, was actively targeting conservative activist group Turning Point USA ahead of the 2024 election. The revelation underscores the extraordinary politicization of federal agencies under Joe Biden and his allies.
Turning Point USA Under Siege
Turning Point USA, the influential 501(c)(3) organization founded by the late Charlie Kirk, and its sister 501(c)(4) group Turning Point Action, were subpoenaed by the FBI as part of an investigation into Republican-aligned groups. According to the Senate Judiciary Committee probe, Jack Smith, appointed Special Counsel in 2022 by Attorney General Merrick Garland, oversaw actions that Trump characterized as politically motivated attacks on conservative organizations.
“Why was the wonderful Turning Point under INVESTIGATION by ‘Deranged’ Jack Smith and the Corrupt & Incompetent Biden Administration?” President Trump asked. “They tried to force Charlie, and many other people and movements, out of business.”
The Senate files, released by Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, revealed that the FBI under Chris Wray issued subpoenas to dozens of GOP-linked organizations, including the Republican National Committee, Republican Attorneys General Association, and Trump political groups, alongside Turning Point USA.
Political Weaponization of Justice
Trump highlighted a pattern of Biden-aligned officials weaponizing the Justice Department against political opponents. He pointed to the Manhattan District Attorney’s “hush money” case, where far-left Judge Juan Merchan allegedly ignored conflicts of interest and gag orders silenced discussion of family ties benefiting Biden donors.
“They allowed the daughter of a Judge, on one of the corrupt trials against me, to become the biggest fundraiser for Biden and Kamala, making many Millions of Dollars for herself and her family,” Trump stated. “Every leading legal analyst and pundit said this trial was wrong and should not have been allowed to go forward. But it did because of a Corrupt Judge who will hopefully pay a very big price for his illegal actions, someday!”
In addition, the Biden Administration allegedly colluded with state prosecutors, including Fani Willis in Georgia, to pursue politically motivated cases connected to 2020 election electors. Turning Point COO Tyler Bowyer was indicted in Arizona in what a judge deemed a politically driven action against alternative presidential electors.
Jack Smith Faces Scrutiny
The Senate report coincides with renewed scrutiny of Jack Smith, as the Trump Office of Special Counsel investigates potential violations of the Hatch Act and other politically motivated abuses. Smith’s actions as Special Counsel, including targeting Kirk’s organization and other GOP entities, are emblematic of the broader weaponization of federal agencies under the Biden Administration.
Trump’s statement concluded with a warning and a call for accountability:
“They Weaponized the Justice Department against Sleepy Joe Biden’s Political Opponents, including ME! Every leading legal analyst and pundit said this trial was wrong and should not have been allowed to go forward. But it did because of a Corrupt Judge who will hopefully pay a very big price for his illegal actions, someday!”
A Broader Pattern of Suppression
The revelations raise serious questions about the use of federal power to target political opponents. Conservative groups, activists, and legal analysts have long warned of the Biden Administration’s disregard for constitutional norms, but the Senate report confirms the scale of the effort to intimidate and silence voices like Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA.
