Christians in Sudan are being forced to make an unthinkable choice: renounce their faith or face starvation. Under the shadow of a brutal civil war between General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan’s Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF), the nation’s two million-strong Christian population is being systematically persecuted, starved, and driven from their homes.

A Civil War Turned Religious Purge

According to Open Doors, at least 150,000 Christians have been killed since the outbreak of the conflict, while more than 15 million have been displaced—creating what observers now call the largest humanitarian displacement crisis on the planet. Neither Burhan nor Dagalo offers protection. Instead, Islamist extremists have exploited the chaos to unleash new waves of terror.

Local reports confirm that food aid is deliberately withheld from Christians. A Sudanese church leader told Fox News, “When even NGOs want to distribute food, the government controls who will receive relief. Often Christians are told, ‘Unless you leave your Christianity, no food for you.’”

The city of El Fasher has become the epicenter of suffering, where Christians have been reduced to eating grass and animal feed. With medicine blocked, “even the flu can kill you,” the church leader warned.

The RSF’s Janjaweed Legacy

The RSF, descended directly from the infamous Janjaweed militias responsible for Darfur’s ethnic cleansing two decades ago, has pledged to eradicate Christianity by force. Refugees recount harrowing stories of torture, rape, and murder. The RSF has imposed a complete blockade on El Fasher, even constructing an earthen wall around the city to trap civilians.

Those caught fleeing are ransomed. If families cannot pay, captives are mutilated, raped, or executed. One elderly Christian woman testified: “They killed my sons. They raped my daughters in front of me. There is nothing more than that.”

No Safety Under the SAF

Burhan’s forces are little better. The SAF has demolished churches across Khartoum, arrested Christians without cause, and demanded bribes disguised as “fines” for their release. Rafat Samir, chairman of the Evangelical Community Council for Sudan now in exile, described it as “multiple layers of persecution,” with Christians targeted for both their faith and their ethnicity.

Authorities refuse to grant permits to rebuild bombed-out churches, effectively banning Christian worship even in SAF-controlled territory.

Prophetic Parallels

The persecution of Sudanese Christians echoes Revelation’s warnings of believers being denied food, medicine, and basic survival unless they renounce Christ. What we are witnessing is not just another “civil war” but a campaign of spiritual genocide designed to erase Christianity from Sudan.

Christians are starving not because there is no food, but because aid is used as a weapon. They are forbidden from gathering to pray. They are told to convert or die. In prophetic terms, this is the same spirit of Antichrist that will one day enforce the “mark of the beast” system—where no one can buy or sell without submission.

The West’s Silence

Western governments and international NGOs, quick to lecture about “human rights” elsewhere, remain virtually silent as Sudan’s Christians are exterminated. Billions in foreign aid flow into the region, but as one Sudanese doctor working in refugee camps put it: “I direct my blame to the international community. How can they speak of human rights and ignore what is happening here? Where is the humanity?”

Instead of protecting the persecuted, the globalist elites continue to bankroll the same broken aid networks that hand control of relief distribution to Islamist-dominated governments—ensuring Christians are last in line.

A Call to Action

The church in the West must wake up. Sudan’s Christians are asking for one thing: prayer and solidarity. They are living Revelation’s warnings in real time. The blood of the martyrs is crying out.

We cannot look away. We must expose the silence of the global elite, demand accountability for the billions of dollars funneled into corrupt governments, and support ministries and underground churches that risk everything to get food, medicine, and the Gospel to those in hiding.

For Sudan’s Christians, the choice is now clear: starve for Christ, or bow to the spirit of Antichrist.
