Doctor Said Kirk ‘Had It Coming’
According to Kuenzle, Jung told a group of colleagues and even a patient that Kirk “had it coming” and “deserved it” following the political assassination of the Turning Point USA founder. Instead of being met with accountability, Kuenzle says she was pulled into a meeting and suspended after reporting the incident to hospital management. Her union rep even warned her to “look for another job.”

National Outrage Brings Change
After her story went public — first shared by activist Scott Pressler and then picked up by The Gateway Pundit and Fox News — the scandal spread nationwide. Citizens flooded Englewood Health with demands for action. On Monday, Englewood Health confirmed Jung had resigned from his position.

A spokesperson said the hospital had “diligently investigated” the September 10 incident “between a doctor and a nurse in a patient care area” and that Kuenzle would be restored to her normal shifts. They insisted she was never technically fired and would not lose pay.

Lexi Kuenzle Speaks Out
Kuenzle has remained unshaken throughout the ordeal, telling Pressler, “I was deeply saddened over the assassination of Charlie Kirk. It was devastating to hear of the killing of an innocent father and I thought everyone would agree — especially a doctor whose purpose is to save lives. They tried to shut me up, but they’re not going to.”

Pressler announced the update on X, writing: “Matthew Jung — the New Jersey doctor that celebrated Charlie Kirk’s assassination — resigned from Englewood Hospital. You did this. Your calls, posts, & voices have been heard. Justice is beautiful.”

The Bigger Picture
This episode underscores the poisonous effect of political hatred in America’s institutions. That a doctor — sworn to preserve life — could openly celebrate an assassination reveals the dangerous climate being cultivated by progressive ideologies that devalue certain lives based on politics.
