A New Jersey nurse is now fighting back after being suspended without pay for confronting a doctor who openly celebrated the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. The shocking incident, uncovered by activist Scott Pressler, highlights the growing intolerance in professional settings toward anyone challenging left-wing ideological extremism.
Nurse Speaks Out Against Doctor’s Shocking Comments
Lexi Kuenzle, a registered nurse at Englewood Health, witnessed Dr. Matthew Jung tell a group of eight nurses and a patient, “I hate Charlie Kirk. He had it coming. He deserved it.” The comments reportedly stunned everyone present—except Kuenzle, who courageously spoke up:
“You’re a doctor. How could you say someone deserved to die?”
Her objection was met with silence from the other nurses and the patient, but instead of being commended, Kuenzle faced swift retaliation. After reporting the incident to hospital management and posting about it privately on Instagram, she received an email from her union representative suggesting she look for another job. Soon after, she was pulled into a meeting and informed that she was suspended without pay indefinitely pending an investigation. Meanwhile, no information has emerged about whether Dr. Jung faced any disciplinary action.
Kuenzle Speaks to Pressler
In a phone interview with Pressler, Kuenzle described the emotional weight of witnessing Kirk’s assassination and the doctor’s comments:
“I was deeply saddened over the assassination of Charlie Kirk. It was devastating to hear of the killing of an innocent father, and I thought everyone would agree—especially a doctor whose purpose is to save lives. In a time where personal social ideologies are often celebrated, especially if they align with popular progressive topics, I simply aimed to stand up for what is right. They tried to shut me up, but they’re not going to.”
Legal Action Filed
Kuenzle has now filed a lawsuit against Englewood Health, Dr. Matthew Jung, and others for religious discrimination. Her attorney, John Coyle, released a statement:
“Englewood Health doctor celebrates and wallows in the murder of Charlie Kirk in front of staff and patients. When a Christian nurse objects—SHE is suspended without pay pending termination.”
The lawsuit underscores a troubling trend in workplaces nationwide: those who challenge politically and ideologically charged narratives—especially from the left—can face severe professional consequences, even when motivated by moral conviction.
