On Friday, the United Nations General Assembly voted to resume the high-level international summit on the two-state solution this September 22, 2025—just days before the prophetic one-year deadline set in motion last fall.
The resolution, spearheaded by Saudi Arabia and France, was adopted despite fierce opposition from both Israel 🇮🇱 and the United States 🇺🇸, who immediately disassociated themselves from the decision, describing it as “politically motivated” and harmful to genuine peace. Yet the machinery of global consensus is moving forward, with the rest of the world aligning against Israel’s objections.
Daniel 9:27 in View
Bible prophecy students cannot miss the significance. Daniel 9:27 foretells of a global leader who will “make a firm covenant with many for one week”—a seven-year period marking the beginning of the Tribulation. While Israel and the U.S. continue to resist, the momentum is undeniable: the entire international community is preparing to force a deal.
Prophecy watchers have long warned that Israel’s eventual acceptance of such a covenant will be tied to a key concession: permission to rebuild the Third Temple on the Temple Mount. And Isaiah 28:15 calls it exactly what it is—a “covenant with death” and an agreement built on deception.
“Peace and Security” at the Center
What makes this moment even more chilling is the language now being used. UN diplomats are stressing the urgency of achieving “a just and lasting peace and security” between Israel and Palestine. Those words echo 1 Thessalonians 5:3: “For when they say, ‘Peace and safety!’ then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.”
The international community insists the September summit will “finalize” what was left unfinished when talks were suspended July 30. This time, the negotiations will occur at the head-of-state level during the 80th General Assembly, underscoring the gravity and high stakes of the initiative.
The Deadline Approaches
The timing is no coincidence. The UN has one year from September 26, 2024, to finalize this framework. That deadline—Friday, September 26, 2025—is now only weeks away. And with Israel and America standing increasingly isolated, the prophetic stage is nearly set.
The Covenant with Death
Israel believes this forced peace will guarantee their security. But God’s Word has already warned: “Because you have said, ‘We have made a covenant with death, and with Sheol we are in agreement; when the overflowing scourge passes through, it will not come to us, for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood we have hidden ourselves’” (Isaiah 28:15).
The nations believe they are making history. In reality, they are fulfilling prophecy.
“Look Up… Our Redemption Draws Near”
As the world clamors for peace and security, prophecy declares the hour is short. Every move toward this covenant points to the soon unveiling of the Antichrist, the rebuilding of the Temple, and the beginning of the seven-year Tribulation.
But for the Bride of Christ, this is not a message of fear—it is a message of hope and urgency. As Jesus Himself said in Luke 21:28: “When these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”
The UN’s peace plan is not the solution. It is the setup. And as the nations gather on September 22 to revive their covenant with death, believers around the world are reminded: Maranatha. The King is coming soon.
