In a bombshell Senate testimony this week, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. revealed that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) ordered a senior scientist to destroy critical data showing a 226% higher risk of autism in young Black children following the MMR vaccine.
Kennedy Details Alleged Cover-Up
Speaking under oath before the Senate Finance Committee, Kennedy described how the CDC deliberately concealed alarming findings from 2002:
“The data showed that Black boys who received the MMR vaccine on schedule had a 226 percent higher chance of being diagnosed with autism compared to those who delayed the shot. Instead of protecting children, the CDC ordered the scientist in charge to destroy the evidence.”
Kennedy accused previous agency leadership of prioritizing pharmaceutical profits over public safety:
“The American people were lied to. They destroyed the data to protect the vaccine program, not our children. This was not science—this was fraud.”
Echoes of the 2014 Whistleblower Revelation
The testimony recalls the 2014 disclosures by Dr. William Thompson, a senior CDC scientist, who admitted that he and colleagues had omitted statistically significant information from a 2004 Pediatrics study widely cited as proof of MMR vaccine safety.
In secretly recorded conversations later made public, Thompson revealed:
“We scheduled a meeting to destroy documents related to the study. We all met and brought a big garbage can into the meeting room, and reviewed and went through all the hard copy documents that we had thought we should discard, and put them into a huge garbage can.”
Despite Thompson’s admission, the CDC has never officially acknowledged wrongdoing, fueling suspicions of a systemic cover-up.
Systemic Corruption and Regulatory Capture
Kennedy argued that the 2002 cover-up was part of a broader pattern of regulatory capture and scientific fraud:
“They told this scientist to put the data in the trash can. That’s not public health, that’s a crime against our children.”
Critics point to the revolving door between public health agencies and Big Pharma, asserting that vaccine uptake has often been prioritized over safety investigations, particularly when vulnerable populations are affected.
Implications for American Families
If Kennedy’s revelations are confirmed, it would mean that a top federal health agency deliberately concealed disproportionate harm to African-American children, raising serious civil rights concerns and threatening public trust in the medical establishment.
Kennedy promised a full investigation:
“We cannot heal as a nation until we tell the truth. Parents deserve honesty, and children deserve protection.”
