The month of September has barely begun, and already the earth is shaking with unsettling ferocity. From deadly quakes in Afghanistan to ominous supervolcano swarms in Italy to swarms rattling the western United States, the planet appears to be entering a period of extraordinary instability. Scientists may dismiss it as coincidence, but many sense that something much larger is unfolding—something with prophetic implications.

Afghanistan Rocked By Devastating Quake
On September 1, Afghanistan was struck by one of its deadliest earthquakes in recent history. The 6.0 magnitude quake killed more than 800 people and injured at least 2,800, overwhelming a nation already crippled by war, poverty, and dwindling aid. Entire neighborhoods crumbled into dust, as families clawed through rubble searching for survivors.
“I was half-buried and unable to get out,” one survivor told the Associated Press. “My wife and two sons were killed.” The Taliban regime, already buckling under humanitarian crises, now faces yet another catastrophe.

Supervolcano Swarm at Campi Flegrei
Even more ominous was the earthquake swarm that struck Italy’s Campi Flegrei supervolcano on August 31 and September 1. Italy’s National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology recorded 94 quakes, including a magnitude 4.0 at a depth of just 2 kilometers. Campi Flegrei, one of the largest supervolcanoes on Earth, has experienced repeated swarms this year—fueling fears that magma is rising closer to the surface.
Scientists warn that a full eruption could trigger a volcanic winter, global crop failure, and even mass extinctions. Yet Western media has largely ignored the story.

Nevada Quake Swarm Raises Fears of Earth Splitting Apart
In the United States, Nevada has been shaken by dozens of earthquakes, including a 4.8 magnitude event near Battle Mountain that registered “strong shaking.” Locals have been warned that the ground in the region “is at risk of splitting apart.” Over the past seven days, California and Nevada have recorded nearly 800 earthquakes—a staggering number that experts say could mark the beginning of something much bigger.

Strange Illness Strikes Ohio High School
While the ground shakes beneath our feet, strange events are occurring above it. In Ohio, dozens of students at Mapleton High School suddenly fell ill with nausea, headaches, and dizziness, forcing the evacuation of two buildings. Initial fears of a gas leak were dismissed, and authorities now admit they have “not ruled anything out.” At a time when mysterious illnesses are rising worldwide, this incident adds yet another layer of unease.

Bee Die-Offs and Mass Extinctions Accelerating
Meanwhile, U.S. beekeepers are reporting catastrophic colony collapses. Texas alone lost 60% of its managed colonies last year, while nationwide bee die-offs hit a record 55.6%. Insects of all kinds are vanishing at alarming rates, and North America has lost nearly 3 billion birds since 1970. Humanity ignores these signs at its own peril—for without pollinators, food chains collapse and famine follows.

Prophetic Warning of a Shaking Earth
Taken together—killer earthquakes, supervolcano swarms, unexplained illnesses, and collapsing ecosystems—these are not random events. They are warnings. Jesus Himself told His disciples, “There will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven” (Luke 21:11).
The shaking of September may be only the beginning of a greater unraveling. Scripture warns in Revelation 18:23 that “by thy sorceries were all nations deceived”—a word many link to pharmakeia, or modern pharmaceutical control. As the world reels from disasters both natural and man-made, we are reminded that creation itself is groaning, awaiting deliverance (Romans 8:22).
The clock is ticking, and mankind must decide where to place its trust: in fragile systems of men, or in the unshakable Kingdom of God.
