Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said European leaders are hindering attempts to resolve the Ukraine conflict, contrasting sharply with the diplomatic approach promoted by Trump and Putin. “The Europeans are hindering the [peace] efforts,” Peskov said, asserting that certain NATO states are pressuring Ukraine to reject negotiations in good faith.

Russian President Putin’s special economic envoy, Kirill Dmitriev, echoed the accusations, calling out the EU for prolonging the war with “impossible demands.” On X, Dmitriev posted: “EU warmongers exposed… Even Washington now sees it – EU leaders are prolonging the conflict in Ukraine with impossible demands. Drop Biden’s failed logic and stop sabotaging a real peace process.”

EU Push for Military Presence Sparks Moscow’s Opposition
The tensions come as European leaders, including UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron, have floated proposals for sending a joint military contingent to Ukraine in a “peacekeeping” role if a truce is reached.
