Cracker Barrel is doubling down on woke culture—and conservatives are not happy. The latest controversy comes from the restaurant’s classic peg game, a 47-year-old staple found on every table across the chain.

Previously, the game’s Southern-style humor playfully roasted players:

  • “Leave only one—you’re a genius.”
  • “Leave two, and you’re purty smart.”
  • “Leave three, and you’re just plain dumb.”
  • “Leave four or mor’n, and you’re just plain eg-no-ra-moose.”

Now, Fox News reports, the playful jabs have been replaced with politically correct encouragement:

“Don’t be embarassed, try again!”

Yes—the word “embarrassed” is misspelled. Social media users immediately noticed the error, mocking the chain for both its wokeness and lack of attention to detail.

A Cracker Barrel spokesperson told Country Living that nothing significant had changed:

“The peg game is still the same peg game our guests have known and loved for years, and some may look visually different now, but the rules and fun remain completely unchanged.”

Critics, however, saw this as yet another example of corporate overreach. Last Tuesday, Cracker Barrel announced it would replace its 47-year-old logo as part of a $700 million rebrand, removing the iconic man sitting on a barrel and leaving only the restaurant’s name.

Social media exploded with outrage, ridicule, and memes. Longtime customers lamented the loss of the restaurant’s playful, irreverent character, while conservatives accused the chain of chasing a woke agenda at the expense of its loyal base.

Cracker Barrel’s CEO, Julie Felss Masino, has now cemented her place in social media infamy—first for the logo, now for altering the beloved peg game and misspelling a word in the process.
