In a stunning rebuke to New York Attorney General Letitia James and the Biden administration, a New York Appeals Court has thrown out the $515+ million civil fraud penalty against President Donald Trump. President Trump celebrated the ruling on Truth Social, calling it a “TOTAL VICTORY in the FAKE New York State Attorney General Letitia James Case.” He blasted the trial as a political witch hunt, accusing James and Engoron of election interference and judicial bias. Trump noted that the appeals court ruling was 5-0 in his favor, calling Justice David Friedman’s opinion “words of wisdom” and praising the courage of the court to reverse what he described as an “unlawful and disgraceful decision” that threatened business across New York.
Trump’s statement singled out James as a “Corrupt and Incompetent Attorney General”, claiming her case aimed solely to damage his political viability. He highlighted other ongoing legal battles against him, including cases involving Judge Juan Merchan and Judge Lewis Kaplan, describing them as “political trials” orchestrated to undermine his candidacy and presidency.
This ruling underscores a growing pattern of judicial and political overreach in New York, where leftist prosecutors have attempted to weaponize the legal system against high-profile conservative figures. By overturning the $515+ million penalty, the court not only vindicated Trump but also sent a clear signal that politically motivated prosecutions will face heightened scrutiny.
Trump praised his legal team, including Eric Trump and countless Trump Organization employees, for their relentless fight against political persecution, emphasizing that the decision is a victory for New York businesses, ordinary citizens, and the principle of fair and impartial justice.
