On July 18, the United States formally rejected the World Health Organization’s 2024 amendments to the International Health Regulations (IHR), citing direct threats to national sovereignty, free speech, and constitutional protections. The decision—announced in a joint statement by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Secretary of State Marco Rubio—marks one of the sharpest rejections of the WHO’s global health power grab to date.

Austria, Italy, and Israel also rejected or filed objections before the July 19, 2025 deadline, each emphasizing the principle of local control over health policy. The UK, however—already branded the “global censorship hub” through its Online Safety Act—accepted the WHO’s sweeping new authority, raising concerns that London will act as an enforcement arm for international narrative control.

What the WHO Amendments Would Have Done
If adopted, the 2024 IHR amendments would have allowed the WHO to override national health sovereignty by:

• Declaring global pandemics or “public health emergencies” without input from elected officials
• Pressuring governments to impose lockdowns, quarantines, and travel restrictions
• Requiring adoption of digital health passports and vaccine documentation systems
• Compelling “risk communication” programs that critics say translate to narrative control and censorship
• Enforcing compliance under vague terms like “health equity” and “global solidarity”

In effect, the rules would have enshrined unelected WHO bureaucrats as arbiters of lockdowns, vaccine mandates, and public speech—bypassing national constitutions and parliaments.

US and Allies Push Back
Kennedy Jr. made clear the U.S. would not tolerate such overreach:

“The United States can cooperate with other nations without jeopardizing our civil liberties, without undermining our Constitution, and without ceding away America’s treasured sovereignty.”

Austria lodged a legal objection to prevent automatic enforcement, Italy issued a full rejection backed by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and Israel formally withdrew after months of parliamentary review. All three joined Washington in rejecting unelected global oversight.

The UK’s Troubling Role
By contrast, the UK government aligned itself with the WHO amendments—at the same time it pushes the Online Safety Act, one of the most draconian censorship laws in the Western world. Critics warn this pairing effectively hands the WHO a censorship enforcement mechanism via Britain’s new digital regime, which already reaches across borders into American online discourse.

The implication is chilling: global health decrees shaped in Geneva could be enforced online through London’s censorship apparatus, controlling what citizens worldwide are allowed to say, share, or even search.

Globalist Agenda and Prophetic Implications
This struggle over the IHR amendments is not just a legal or bureaucratic matter—it is a flashpoint in the globalist project to centralize authority over nations, suppress dissent, and digitize human compliance. From vaccine passports to censorship boards, the infrastructure of Revelation’s “beast system” is being laid brick by brick. The rejection by the US, Italy, Israel, and Austria shows that not all nations are ready to kneel before this unelected order.
