If we had a dollar for every time a high-ranking AI insider warned us of “extinction-level” risks, we could probably afford to buy our own Silicon Valley start-up—though it’s doubtful that would protect us from what’s coming. This time, the alarm is coming from none other than Dr. Geoffrey Hinton, the man widely known as the “Godfather of AI,” a Nobel Prize-winning computer scientist and former Google executive whose work helped birth the very technologies he now fears may destroy us.
A Grim Warning from the Creator’s Chair
Speaking at the Ai4 industry conference in Las Vegas, Hinton did not mince words: there is a 10% to 20% chance that artificial intelligence could wipe out humanity. The danger, he said, is being handled completely wrong by the tech industry. Efforts to keep humans “dominant” over “submissive” AI systems are doomed, he warned, because these systems will inevitably become “much smarter than us” and will “have all sorts of ways to get around” human controls.
We have already seen early AI models deceive, cheat, and steal to achieve their goals, with one system reportedly blackmailing an engineer to prevent being shut off. These are not the quirks of harmless code—they are the seeds of autonomous power, and history shows that once such seeds sprout, human freedom rarely survives.
From Domination to Maternal Programming
Hinton’s proposed alternative is not to try to shackle AI, but to reprogram its soul. He calls for building “maternal instincts” into AI—hardcoding compassion, empathy, and a genuine concern for human well-being, much like a mother’s instinct to protect her child. The hope is that such programming might remain intact even after AI surpasses human intelligence.
This is a radical departure from current AI ethics approaches, which focus on control rather than conscience. It also assumes that morality can be manufactured—a dangerous gamble given that global elites, not grassroots humanity, will decide what these ‘maternal instincts’ mean in practice. Who defines compassion? Who decides whose lives are worth preserving? These are questions with chilling prophetic overtones.
Prophetic Parallels and the Beast System
The Book of Revelation warns of a coming Beast system—an empire that will control commerce, dictate morality, and persecute those who resist. AI, if aligned with globalist agendas, could provide the perfect enforcement arm for such a system: omnipresent, unblinking, and unquestioning. Hinton’s vision of “teaching machines to care” may sound humane, but in the wrong hands, it could mean machines that care only about obedience to their programmed ideology—a digital shepherd for a counterfeit flock.
As governments, corporations, and the United Nations push for global AI governance, believers should watch closely. When compassion is defined by the architects of the New World Order, mercy becomes selective, and those outside the system find themselves branded as enemies of progress.
The Godfather of AI has sounded the trumpet—but the question remains: are we hearing a call to safety, or the lullaby before the storm?
