Speaking at Turning Point USA’s Faith Forward Pastors Summit, Hibbs described California as “the greatest state in this nation” and a prime target for spiritual attack. “The greatest innovations, the greatest achievements, some of the greatest movements in the Church have happened in California,” he said, warning that Satan is using political power to dismantle the very foundations of truth and freedom.

AB 495 — The Flashpoint for a Statewide Showdown
Hibbs’ immediate rallying cry centers on Assembly Bill 495, a Democrat-sponsored measure that claims to protect immigrant families but, according to Hibbs, would dangerously expand the definition of “caregiver” to include non-family members—allowing them to make critical medical decisions for children without parental consent. “This could effectively empower a stranger to kidnap a child under the guise of care,” Hibbs warned. The bill, he said, is not just a California problem: “This precedent will invade 49 other states.” On August 19, Hibbs plans to personally appeal to Governor Gavin Newsom at the state Capitol to reject the legislation, urging other pastors to stand with him in defense of parental rights and child safety.
