Now, according to royal insider and former photographer Ian Pelham Turner, William is “trying to create issues” and “overstepping boundaries” while Charles still sits on the throne.
Pelham Turner praised King Charles for his renewed leadership and credited Camilla with smoothing the rough edges that once plagued the monarchy. “Charles has great humanity, and I think he just needed the corners smoothed out, and I think that’s what Camilla has done more than anything,” Turner said in a recent interview. It’s clear Camilla’s influence on Charles is stronger than ever, and she’s positioning herself as the key stabilizer amid growing family unrest.
The feud with Prince Harry adds another combustible layer. Harry, who called Camilla “dangerous” and “the villain” in his memoir Spare, has publicly attacked the Queen Consort while driving a wedge between father and son. A source close to the Firm told the New York Post that Harry’s bitterness “forced Charles to choose between his wife and his son,” further straining the family dynamic. The insider emphasized, “Charles loves his sons, but he also loves his wife. The last few months have made it very clear how important she is; she has been the one propping up the whole edifice.”
This rift exposes the fragile balance within the royal household—King Charles’ efforts to maintain authority, Camilla’s rising power as queen consort, William’s ambitions to assert influence prematurely, and Harry’s relentless campaign of undermining. As public scrutiny intensifies, the monarchy faces unprecedented internal division at a pivotal moment in its history.
