Two American medical ethicists have proposed one of the most grotesque “climate solutions” to date: letting a life-threatening, tick-borne meat allergy spread — on purpose — because eating meat is, in their words, “morally impermissible.” In a May 2025 paper published in the peer-reviewed journal Bioethics, Western Michigan University professors Parker Crutchfield, PhD, and Blake Hereth, PhD, argue that efforts to stop the spread of Alpha-gal Syndrome (AGS) are themselves “immoral.”

That’s right. These academics believe humanity must surrender to a flesh-eating tick for the planet’s sake. And they’re not being metaphorical.

When Ideology Becomes Biohazard

Alpha-gal Syndrome is a serious, potentially life-threatening food allergy to mammalian meat — including beef, pork, lamb, goat, venison, and more — caused by a sugar molecule called galactose-alpha-1,3-galactose (alpha-gal), which gets injected into the human body through the bite of the Amblyomma americanum, or lone star tick. While some victims may only suffer hives or nausea, others can go into full-blown anaphylaxis, experience gastrointestinal collapse, or develop chronic immune disorders.

To the authors of “Beneficial Bloodsucking,” that’s not a public health disaster — it’s moral improvement. According to Crutchfield and Hereth, AGS acts as a “moral bioenhancer” because it forces people to stop eating meat. The paper argues that if meat-eating is morally wrong, then “promoting the proliferation of tick-borne AGS is morally obligatory.” They even suggest using genetic engineering to enhance the tick’s ability to transmit the allergy.

Let that sink in.

Weaponized Ethics: The Rise of “Moral Bioenhancement”

This is not a dystopian parody. These are serious academics at a taxpayer-funded university, and this is a real, published argument in a medical ethics journal. The concept of “moral bioenhancement” is part of a growing transhumanist movement in academic circles that believes humanity should be reengineered — biologically, neurologically, or pharmaceutically — to fit a set of elite-approved moral standards.

And in this case, that means making meat illegal… through insect-borne illness.

According to the authors’ so-called “Convergence Argument,” promoting AGS meets three necessary ethical criteria:

It prevents a worsening world (i.e., climate change).
It doesn’t violate anyone’s rights (they claim).
It promotes virtuous behavior (veganism).

Thus, they conclude, spreading AGS is “strongly pro tanto obligatory” — in other words, a moral duty.

Climate Extremism or Depopulation Agenda?

Once again, we find radical climate ideology turning hostile. What starts as “cut your steak intake to save the planet” ends in “let’s release a genetically engineered plague that makes meat deadly.” And they dare call this progress?

Crutchfield himself bragged about the paper’s radicalism in a public statement:

“This is a paper I am really quite proud of… to construct a really strong, logical argument in establishing a very unconventional claim.”

Unconventional? Yes. Logical? Not even close. It is totalitarian logic wrapped in bioethics jargon — and it is eerily reminiscent of the elite depopulation and behavioral control strategies promoted by the World Economic Forum and similar institutions.

AGS and the Real Dangers of Tick-Borne Illness

This isn’t just theory. The lone star tick, now widespread across the U.S., Mexico, and parts of the Midwest and South, already transmits multiple debilitating diseases:

Bourbon virus – flu-like, with no treatment
Ehrlichiosis – often fatal if untreated
Heartland virus – frequently leads to hospitalization
STARI (Southern tick-associated rash illness) – similar to Lyme disease
Tularemia – affects multiple organs and can be deadly
Alpha-gal Syndrome – the so-called “meat allergy”

Some 450,000 Americans already suffer from AGS, with cases on the rise. And now two medical professors want to accelerate it.

Your Tax Dollars at Work

Western Michigan University is a public institution. That means this insanity is being bankrolled by you, the taxpayer. The same left-leaning academics who deride red meat as unethical are now entertaining the release of engineered disease vectors to manipulate your behavior — all while hiding behind the veil of “bioethics.”

How long until this becomes policy? How long until the WHO, WEF, or some leftist coalition decides it’s time to bioengineer your moral behavior “for the greater good”?

This is not just about diet — it’s about bio-control, sovereignty, and freedom.

Let’s be clear: no one is stopping vegans from not eating meat. But when self-righteous academics call for the deliberate spread of life-threatening diseases to enforce their ideology, they’re no longer advocates — they’re tyrants in lab coats.

We must reject the idea that bodily autonomy, dietary freedom, and personal health should be sacrificed at the altar of climate extremism. And we must expose and defund the institutions pushing these dangerous ideas before they become reality.

Because if eating meat is now a crime, it won’t be long before living freely becomes one too.
