Alberta’s push for independence is facing a new legal and political assault—this time from Elections Alberta itself. In a move critics are calling a clear act of sabotage against democratic expression, the provincial elections authority has taken the Alberta Prosperity Project (APP) to court, challenging the constitutionality of its proposed referendum question on Alberta separation.

Joining Reid on a recent broadcast, commentator Lise Merle blasted the agency’s action as “an attempt to slow [the separatist] train down,” adding that Alberta’s institutions are “stuffed to the gills with vapid left-wing activists.”
