A deepening rift between two historic allies has burst into the open. The Trump White House is reportedly “furious” with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, labeling him a “madman” and accusing him of sabotaging U.S. diplomatic efforts across the Middle East.
According to a report by Axios, tensions flared after Israel launched airstrikes in Syria and Gaza—strikes that reportedly blindsided President Trump and left his national security team scrambling.

That ceasefire now appears to be holding, as Syrian Interior Minister Anas Khattab announced on X that internal security forces have restored stability in key areas of Suwayda.

Some analysts suggest this public blow-up may be calculated political theater—designed to give Trump cover with isolationist-leaning voters ahead of the 2026 midterms, while still supporting Israel’s regional objectives behind the scenes.
