The delivery of HQ-22 and FD-2000B air defense systems, among the most advanced in China’s arsenal, comes just days after a ceasefire with Israel was declared. The move has raised alarm among U.S. and Israeli intelligence agencies, who warn that the rebuilding effort may usher in a new level of escalation in the Middle East—with China now playing a direct role.

Post-War Rebuild: Not Relief, But Rearmament

Satellite images confirmed by independent analysts show large Chinese cargo aircraft landing at Iran’s Kermanshah and Bandar Abbas airfields, unloading sophisticated radar, mobile launch platforms, and missile interceptors. Sources inside Iran’s IRGC claim the equipment is being deployed to nuclear and oil infrastructure sites, as well as previously damaged bases near Damascus and central Iran.

“This isn’t about defense—it’s about preparing for the next round,” said former IDF intelligence officer Ronen Itzhak. “The speed and scale of this transfer suggest it was planned before the conflict even began.”

China’s involvement in Iran’s recovery reveals the deepening military and economic alliance that has emerged under the radar. Through their 25-year strategic cooperation pact, China has pledged not only $400 billion in economic investment but logistical, cyber, and military support, especially in the aftermath of attacks by Western or Israeli forces.
