As fear and uncertainty gripped New York City during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, one elected official stood out—not for leadership, but for radicalism. New York State Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani, a self-described Democratic Socialist and member of the DSA (Democratic Socialists of America), called for the government to forcibly seize vacant luxury homes from wealthy property owners to house the city’s homeless population.
The remarks, largely overlooked by corporate media at the time, are now resurfacing—and with them, fresh concerns about the growing push for state-sanctioned property redistribution under the guise of “equity.”
Class Warfare in a Crisis
In April 2020, Mamdani tweeted:
“There are thousands of empty luxury apartments while thousands of New Yorkers sleep on the streets. We should seize the luxury units and give them to the people without homes.”
The message was met with cheers from socialist circles—and horror from property rights advocates. Critics say Mamdani’s suggestion wasn’t just reckless—it was straight out of the Communist Manifesto.
“This is the kind of rhetoric you expect from authoritarian regimes, not elected officials in America,” said housing analyst Laura Wellington. “The pandemic gave radicals the perfect excuse to float policies that erode private ownership under the banner of compassion.”
DSA’s Agenda Revealed
Mamdani is a prominent member of the NYC chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America, a group that openly advocates for the abolition of capitalism and state control of housing, healthcare, and wealth. In his short time in office, Mamdani has promoted bills that:
- Raise taxes on high earners
- Halt evictions indefinitely
- Nationalize portions of the real estate market
- Funnel public funds into “community land trusts”
Analysts warn that these policies mirror similar experiments in Venezuela and the former Soviet Union, where government seizure of property led to economic collapse and human suffering.
Echoes of Prophecy: The Rise of Lawlessness
The Bible speaks of a time when lawlessness will abound and private property will be trampled under foot by mobs and rulers alike. In 2 Thessalonians 2:3, the Apostle Paul warned of a falling away and rise of deception before the man of sin is revealed.
Could these calls to abolish private property and reward lawlessness be signs of the coming end-times system, where global equality is a euphemism for centralized control?
What They Really Want
- End of private property ownership
- Government-controlled housing
- Redistribution based on class identity
- Expansion of “equity-based” governance
- Normalization of unconstitutional land seizures
What began as pandemic-era rhetoric may well be a blueprint for post-capitalist America, driven not by justice, but by envy disguised as virtue.
