In a major shift that pro-life advocates are calling a generational victory, Congress has finally moved to defund Planned Parenthood — ending nearly two decades of taxpayer support for the nation’s largest abortion provider.
Tucked inside the latest appropriations package, lawmakers voted to strip all federal funding from Planned Parenthood and its affiliates, citing repeated violations, criminal referrals, and the mounting national outcry over government complicity in abortion-on-demand.

As expected, Planned Parenthood has responded with fury, accusing Congress of “attacking women’s rights” and “jeopardizing public health.” The organization’s president, Alexis McGill Johnson, vowed to continue fighting and threatened legal action.
But critics say the outrage only confirms how dependent Planned Parenthood has become on public money to sustain its operations and push its ideological agenda.
