Chinese government tears down crosses, brutalizes 80-year-old man who intervenes

Fresh off China’s celebration of U.S. California Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s declaration that the communist country had become a “respectable nation,” a Chinese watchdog group has exposed continued brutal crackdowns being carried out against Christian churches in the country.

More than 100 government officials in the Zhejiang province have been dispatched to tear down crosses, ransack churches, and destroy other symbols of Christianity.

In one incident, an elderly man in his 80s attempted to intervene and stop the removal of the cross, only to be shoved to the ground by government forces. The group Bitter Winter posted video footage of the alleged incident.

In addition to these incidents, media has reported in the last year that the Chinese government has indoctrinated children to report their Christian parents to authorities, rewritten Scripture, replaced images of Jesus with communist propaganda, and arrested, tortured, and imprisoned Christian ministers for no clear reason other than their faith.
