Ramadan in Nigeria: Muslims murder 23 Christians as media claims that “holy month” is for prayer and forgiveness

  BY

Fulani “herdmen” attacking Christians are really Fulani jihadists, but it sounds more politically correct to say “herdsmen” and understate the problem of jihad.

The jihad genocide against Christians and the routine persecution of religious minorities continues to be largely ignored, as well as the doctrine that fuels it, under the argument that to speak about its root causes honestly would smear all Muslims. Thus the worst human rights abuses, occurring daily in the name of Islam, are dismissed and ignored.

The Independent states that during Ramadan, Muslims believe that good deeds are “given manifold reward,” but then it adds that this positive good-deed sentiment is “twisted by Isis.” The Taliban has stated that the reward for martyrdom during Ramadan is 70 times greater than at any other time. Even CNN noted that the Islamic State has called Ramadan the “month of martyrdom,” but yet again made the reference seem to be separate from the religion of Islam itself. However, CNN did admit that “at the core of Salafi-jihadist violence is an extremely literalist reading of history and scripture.” But herein lies the serious and most critical point: there are Islamic states which are spending big money to export Salafi ideology globally, including Iran (which is Shi’ite but supports Salafists such as Hamas), Saudi Arabia, and Turkey.

Pakistan and some regions in Southeast Asia, Africa and the Middle East also practice this Salafi ideology, which is being fueled constantly by Islamic states, while the Western media consistently attributes it solely to groups such as al-Qaeda, al-Shaabab, the Taliban, and the Islamic State.

In just about every mainstream media report of violence during Ramadan, victims are given excuses about how peaceful Islam is. Yet normative Islam prescribes violence, despite the fact that there are many Muslims who choose to practice their faith in peace. So-called “radical jihad” groups which practice violence in the name of their religion are fully backed by Quranic texts which provide them with ideological fuel and fire them with religious zeal to continue their activities.

“Not equal are those of the believers who sit (at home), except those who are disabled (by injury or are blind or lame, etc.), and those who strive hard and fight in the Cause of Allah with their wealth and their lives. Allah has preferred in grades those who strive hard and fight with their wealth and their lives above those who sit (at home). Unto each, Allah has promised good (Paradise), but Allah has preferred those who strive hard and fight, above those who sit (at home) by a huge reward.” (Quran 4:95)

“(Remember) when your Lord inspired the angels… ‘I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them.’” (Quran 8:12)

According to Quran 2:185, “the month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion.” Then in the verses directly following,  the obligations to the Muslim believer about prayer during Ramadan are highlighted. But then 8 verses later come verses about bloody jihad:

Quran 2:193 Fight them until there is no [more] fitnah and [until] worship is [acknowledged to be] for Allah. But if they cease, then there is to be no aggression except against the oppressors.

While the media and policymakers continue to ignore what is in the Quran, the vast network of terrorist organizations are adhering to it, and so are Islamic countries that fund the spread of the jihad doctrine.

There are enough Muslims worldwide who either engage in jihad or support the jihad verses of the Quran to warrant widespread attention and the formulation of policies to keep such doctrines from spreading in Western countries. The ongoing global jihad is also a reason to pay particular attention to rescuing those who are persecuted in accord with these doctrines.

Nigeria is ranked 12th on Open Doors’ 2020 World Watch List of countries where Christians are most persecuted overall, but the country ranks second in terms of violence. Pakistan is first. Nigeria is first, however, in the number of Christians who are killed for reasons related to their faith.

Haaretz, a Left-leaning Israeli publication, should know what jihad represents more than most. Instead, it ran an article which completely ignored the significance of jihad during Ramadan: What Is Ramadan? Everything You Need to Know (But Were Afraid to Ask)Haaretz was apparently afraid to balance its article by addressing the truth about jihad and Ramadan. The article bends over backwards to present only one side of the Ramadan coin, going so far as to only mention those “many Muslims, particularly those who live in the U.S. and Europe,” who are “accepting and welcoming of others around them who are not observing Ramadan,” while leaving out the unreasonable demands by Muslim special interest groups that have managed to compel authorities in many Western cities to allow the broadcasting of the Islamic call to prayer (adhan) over loudspeakers in Minnesota, New Jersey, Mississauga, Ontario, Minneapolis and Calgary during Ramadan.

Many keep forgetting the duty of conquest for Muslims under the dictates of normative Islam, which can include the wanton butchering of Christians, Jews, Muslims of minority sects and other minorities, all in the name of Islam, with special rewards for martyrdom during Ramadan.

“Over 20 killed in spate of new Fulani massacres on Nigerian Christians,” by Samuel Smith, Christian Post, May 14, 2020:

At least 23 people were killed in a spate of attacks carried about by suspected Fulani herdsmen in the Kajuru local government area of Nigeria’s Kaduna this week, sources told The Christian Post.

In a press statement released on Tuesday, the Southern Kaduna People’s Union confirmed that at least 17 people were killed and six injured when Fulani militia laid siege to the Gonan Rogo village in the late hours of Monday night into Tuesday morning.

The village, inhabited by the Adara people, lies along the Kaduna-Kachia road. According to the union, the militia struck around 11:30 p.m. on Monday.

During the attack, an entire household was wiped out and members of several others were killed.

“They broke into the home of Jonathan Yakubu, 40 and slaughtered him,” SOKPU National Public Relations Officer Luka Binniyat said in a press statement. “They also killed his wife, Sheba Yakubu 32, and hacked to death their only three children.”

Their three children are 13-year-old Patience, 6-year-old Revelation and 4-year-old Rejoice.

“From this compound trails of blood led to another gory scene of where Kauna Magaji was killed along with her daughter, Faith Magaji, who died of grisly cutlasses cut to their heads,” Binniyat added.

According to SOKPU, the attackers then struck another compound in the village where they killed a 25-year-old mother named Saraunia Lucky. Her 3-month-old child was able to survive a bullet to the head but a 6-year-old was hacked to death. The baby and his aunt are now being cared for by the Albarka Baptist Church, according to SOKPU.

Others killed in the attack on the home also include 32-year-old Asanalo Magaji and 13-year-old Yayo Magaji.

In another home, a Christian couple in their 20s were butchered. And in another residence, 60-year-old Mailafia Dalhatu was killed as he tried to escape. Dalhatu’s younger brother, Yaro, was killed at another house along with his wife, Saratu, and 14-year-old granddaughter, Blessing.

Separately, a 17-year-old boy named Popular Teacher was killed.

“In total, no fewer than 17 persons were murdered in cold blood for no apparent reason by persons who the villagers identified as Fulani,” Binniyat said. “[Six] people are now receiving treatments in various hospitals. A total of seven cows were rustled. The compound of Liberty Yari was razed but was lucky to escape with his household.”

According to SOKPU, the Fulani neighbors who have lived around the community for over 40 years left the night before the attack.

A mass burial was held for the victims on Tuesday.

Kajuru resident Alheri Magaji, who leads the nonprofit Resilient Aid and Dialogue Initiative, shared details with CP about the incident in Gonan Rogo.

“Yesterday morning, while people slept in their houses, the Fulani people came in and slaughtered people,”….  (Click to Source)
