Trump cautioned: ‘Deep State’ is out to get you

A conservative columnist says President Trump “better be on his game” if he agrees to be questioned by Robert Mueller’s team.

A number of conservative analysts have said it was unwise for the president to say he would be willing to answer questions under oath in the interview, which special counsel Robert Mueller has been seeking. When asked by reporters at the White House, Trump said: “I’m looking forward to it, actually.” The president said that an interview could take place within two to three weeks.

Robert Knight, a conservative activist and a columnist for OneNewsNow and The Washington Times, says most individuals might welcome being asked any question when they have nothing to hide.

“Except when it’s a witch hunt,” he qualifies, “when you might be asked very calculated questions designed to take even innocent answers and twist them into an indictable offense. [If he submits to an interview under oath], Mr. Trump better be on his game because a lot is at stake here.”

A former prosecutor who is now general counsel for the American Family Association offered similar advice last week, suggesting that the controversial four-page FISA memo be released to the public because he predicts it could very well “blow up” the Mueller investigation.

Meanwhile, the recent report of a “secret society” within the Department of Justice and the FBI, says Knight, sounds like the old Soviet Russia.

“In Russia, the KGB was a secret society unto itself, and it went after political opponents – but it also went after the Russian people,” he explains. “This so-called ‘secret society’ that seems to have emerged via emails disclosed about FBI people shows that it is aimed at bringing down the Trump administration. It’s got a singular focus which is to destroy the Trump presidency.”

In a current column, Knight states that the mention of a “secret society” within the FBI – resisting a new administration “at every turn” – explains why Americans who live outside of Washington, DC, are “paranoid about the Deep State.” (Click to Source)
