HILLARY Clinton’s former campaign manager has demanded the “veil over UFOs is lifted” in the wake of news about a secret US Government probe into the phenomena.

John Podesta, who was chief of staff to President Bill Clinton and Counselor to President Barack Obama, took to twitter to call for openness about aliens and UFOs after details of the Department of Defense Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification £16.5million secretive programme investigating the threat posed by UFOs were revealed this weekend.

According to a report from the New York Times, the US Government-funded programme investigated reports of UFOs between 2007 and 2012.

It was allegedly run by military intelligence official, Luis Elizondo, who is now a key player in a UFO research group set up by former Blink 182 singer Tom DeLonge.

Mr Podesta tweeted a link to reports about the explosive news saying: “Lift the veil.”

He added: “#TheTruthIsOutThere.”

Senator Harry Reid, a Nevada Democrat who was the Senate majority leader at the time, requested the funding details for the programme before details emerged, also used social media to apply more pressure.

He tweeted a link to reports saying: “The truth is out there. Seriously,” adding a picture of a UFO.

“If anyone says they have the answers, they’re fooling themselves.

“We don’t know the answers but we have plenty of evidence to support asking the questions.

“This is about science and national security.

“If America doesn’t take the lead in answering these questions, others will.”

Mr Podesta has been at the centre of the new To The Stars Academy, launched by Mr DeLonge, which is crowdfunding to get funds to investigate UFOs.

And Mr DeLonge emailed Mr Podesta about the project, as revealed by Wikileaks disclosures during the Clinton campaign.

Mrs Clinton also pledged during her campaign that she would find out the truth about aliens and the mysterious Area 51 USAF base in Nevada if she made it to the White House.

In one e-mail sent in October 2015, the singer, who sang about extraterrestrials in the band’s 1999 song Aliens Exist, used the title “Important Things”.

Inside this email Mr DeLonge claimed he had two important contacts Mr Podesta should meet over the “sensitive topic” of UFOs and a film, novel and documentary he was working on, which involved an interview with Mr Podesta.

He wrote: “Tom DeLonge here, The one who interviewed you for that special documentary not too long ago.

“Things are moving with the project. The Novels, Films and NonFiction works are blooming and finishing.

“I would like to bring two very ‘important’ people out to meet you in DC.

“I think you will find them very interesting, as they were principal leadership relating to our sensitive topic.

“Both were in charge of most fragile divisions, as it relates to classified science and DOD (department of defence) topics.”

It is not clear if Mr Podesta replied to the e-mails or had any meetings.

Upon leaving Barack Obama’s administration, he tweeted his “biggest failure” was “not securing the #disclosure” of the UFO files. (Click to Source)
